After staying a few minutes and getting a few shirts, there was literally nothing else to do. So we went to a little farmers market after and went back to Houston. "Howdy! And welcome to the Texas Bucket List."…read more On a recent day trip to College Station, one of the things I wanted to do was visit the TBL Store and Studio because I am a huge fan of this show! Texas isn't just honky tonks and BBQ (though our BBQ is da best!); we are an incredibly diverse state and this show really does a great job of highlighting that. I'm a life long Texan, but I've learned about so many cool and quirky places around the state from watching this show. The store offers all sorts of Texas related items. Mugs, cutting boards, t-shirts, etc. You can find a lot of cute TX themed items. They also sell merchandise of places they have featured on the show. One of my favorite merchandise items was from El Arroyo in Austin (for those who don't know, El Arroyo is famous for their snarky marquee messages). They had funny puzzles, mugs, stickers, etc. We probably stood there for a good 5 minutes just reading all of the funny messages. The young lady that was working was very sweet and helpful. Unfortunately Shane (the host) and his wife weren't there, but there was a life size cardboard cut out of him that you could take a picture with lol. The TBL Hummers were parked out front which was cool to see. If you're a fan of the show or are looking for TX themed merchandise, this is a great little store to visit.

And I'm so glad I was finally able to visit! Such a fun way to spend several hours. From the shops to the lawn games to the food trucks, this place has it all. Carefully curated - it's very Chip and Jo. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and welcoming. We stopped by here around 2:00pm on a Saturday in August and I thought it was going to be packed, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was busy, but I expected it to be busier. There is free parking a few blocks away, which is super nice. There are several shops, a bakery, and a coffee shop. There is something for everyone. We really loved our trip here and hope we can come back again.

Still has a good selection of gifts and clothing, but it's a bit more economical. They advertise $12 tshirts... get it, *12th man* :) I'd say that price is on par with tent sale prices. Aggies sure do love a good tent sale! I assume they renamed the store Howdy because it's much smaller and has less gifts as the University and Bush store locations.

They've got a bunch of White House themed gifts, christmas ornaments, all the stuff that you need to throw a GHWB party! It's fun how some of the gifts are other toys that have been repurposed into a Bush themed gift- for example the parachuting figures are now Bush. The clerk seemed aloof, like she has a pretty tame job sitting in the air conditioning behind the register. I don't think you technically have to pay for admission to the museum / presidential library to get to the gift shop. You do have to pass through a security checkpoint complete with x-ray machine and metal detector to get here. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell the George HW Bush postage stamps that were issued a while back. That huge papier mache head of George on display isn't for sale.
