Hello my experience with Waco Foot and Ankle has been wonderful. The front desk staff is just as wonderful. They go beyond the call of duty with their patients . My doctor is Dr. Townson he is gifted with the hands of an angel. He left no stone unturned when it came to my health. My doctor cares and is very knowledgeable in todays treatments. So make an appointment today. Don't hesitate and follow Drs. Orders. You will be amazed at the professionalism . The office is clean sanitary and so much more. I have also gotten my toenails cut at Waco Foot and Ankle It's worth it . Don't go to salon's let the real professionals do your feet and all over podiatry care. read more

I've not reviewed a doctor's office before but felt others should be aware. I saw Dr. James P. Townson at this clinic months ago and learned I need surgery to correct a painful foot. He told me his office staff would contact me within 2 weeks to schedule the procedure but here it is 2 months later and I still haven't heard from them. Of course I called them and had the strangest conversation with the woman who answered the phone who kept saying "sounds like a Stacey issue." After the 3rd time hearing her say that I asked her what is she talking about and is Stacey a doctor there or what? She said no, Stacey handles the scheduling and I asked what the hold up was because I am in pain and she just put me through to this mystery Stacey person's voicemail. You would think I would hear back pronto (I know mistakes happen) but here it is days later and still no phone call. Dr Townson told me they were scheduling surgeries at least a month out-but come on. Call me back. I really liked Dr Townson very much and what his patients have said about him but does he know the incompetency of his office staff? I think not and hope they rectify this situation. I can't imagine going to another doctor because of his staff's lack of follow through. read more

I started going to this practice for plantar fasciitis in 2013. Went for almost a year and even bought their super expensive shoe inserts. Once things were not getting better only worse Dr. Loya recommended surgery to release the plantar. I never got a second opinion and allowed her to operate on me. Afterwards I was prescribed a boot to wear for 6-8 weeks. I followed all the instructions and saw very little relief. Dr. K Loya NEVER sent me to get physical therapy after finishing the time wearing the boot. A few weeks later I took a nasty fall and almost broke my ankle. (on the same foot she did surgery) I again was told to wear the boot for 6-8 weeks. My foot got so much worse and she wanted to do surgery AGAIN! I decided to get a second opinion and went to Southwest Sports orthopedic and was told how I should have gotten physical therapy right after my boot, that my foot and ankle needed to regain their strength and muscle memory. That I did NOT need any surgery. I went to PT for 2 months and my foot and ankle are so much better, I cannot explain how I deeply regret ever going to Waco Foot and Ankle. It seems they just want to operate and take your money. I wrote Dr. Loya a letter and she never had the decency to reply or call after being her patient for over two years. I Took my Wife in to see Dr. Sterriker , She had 3 Plantar warts on her Foot And they were causing pain. Dr. Sterriker Gave my wife 2 Treatment Options. The 1st would be Applying a chemical like Cantharidin to the wart. . This would be repeated every couple of weeks. Because it can cause a painful blister he also said he could provide a prescription that would do the same but not cause any blistering. My Wife Chose the Prescription. I Checked wit the Pharmacy and found out the Insurance wanted prior authorization from the Doctor. No Problem .i I Have Blue Cross Blue Blue Shield Federal Employee Insurance and have never been turned down. I Waited about 3 days and called the doctors office. They told me The Pharmacy had not sent them anything. But they would look out for it . I called the Pharmacy again and had them re-send the Prior Approval info . 1 Week after we saw Dr. Strerriker His Nurse called me and informed my that DR. Sterriker Said" to Buy The O.T.C Salacytic Acid. " He Said "that the Insurance Probably will not cover it" . I Informed the Nurse to tell him that We paid to see a specialist And he recommended this medication - And that they could try to get the Prior authorization. I Was Pretty Demanding. But my wife is in pain and had to wait a week just to find this out. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Avoid at all costs. I went here because I had a painful callous on my foot that would not go away. I paid my $40 specialist co-pay (BCBS of TX insurance), and before the doctor saw me, the nurse had me sign another form promising to pay any extra it might cost to remove the callous, which she said could be as much as $65. Fine, I signed. Doc came in, cut away the callous, dabbed the underlying plantar wart (which had been causing the callous unbeknownst to me) with some stuff on a q-tip, and the nurse slapped a bandaid on it. The doctor was super nice, but my total time with him was less than 5 minutes. As I left they had me make another appointment to follow up in 2 weeks. I went back in 2 weeks, another $40 co-pay, and it was an exact repeat of the first visit; less than 5 minutes, doc trims callous, applies medicine with q-tip, bandaid, and I'm done. Fine. I go up front and they want me to make a THIRD appointment -- but first -- "ma'am, you have an outstanding balance of $160+ that you need to pay." I have WHAT?! That's right, my insurance covered almost NONE of the $175 SURGICAL FEE. That's on top of the doctor visit fee of $140. Folks I understand the doc probably has some big-time student loans to pay off, but $175 for "surgery" that consisted of trimming a callous and using a q-tip?! And I was not told any of this until AFTER I had racked up another visit with the same amounts charged AGAIN. I just got the second bill today -- bringing my total for getting rid of a callous and a plantar wart -- which I could have taken care of myself with a $5 bottle of wart remover, had I known -- FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS OUT OF MY POCKET (two $40 co-pays and two $160+ bills). To add insult to injury, when I saw the statement from my insurance, I found out that it wasn't even billed by "Waco Foot and Ankle". It was billed by Dr. Kyle Ballew -- the podiatrist I saw last year and disliked so much that I went out of my way to find "another" podiatry practice to visit -- thus, Waco Foot and Ankle -- which I now know must be owned by Dr. Ballew as well. I will never go back again and will direct others away from this place too. read more
