Chef Manny has done it again, an extensive menu of FRESH and innovative dishes with only the best seafood around Cabo! More than just tacos and ceviche, deeper complex and fusions of flavors, ingredients and techniques. Extensive cocktails from hibiscus margaritas, horchata's with a kick, Mexican mojitos, and more. Extensive tostada menu, had the Leovy with fresh tuna over avocado, topped with fresh shrimps, caramelized onions in a chile soy sauce; delicious a bit salty from the soy, but everything worked together. The Isabella had octopus, sea bass and tuna atop a tostada and drizzled ponzu sauce. A creative array of salsas from a tropical mango coconut, toasted peanut vinaigrette (my favorite), spicy chile water to a beet habanero (sweet/spicy goodness). Great prices for unique deliciousness! Saw the great reviews. While the food was on point, there were a few issues with the restaurant. The blackboard sign showed the special as surf 'n turf, but when we inquired they said they did not have any steak. The sign was quite portable and probably should have been removed. The menu showed a large assortment of beer, but they only had Michelob Ultra. Not an issue, but at $3.75/beer vs $2.50 for our preferred Pacifico, they probably should have offered a discount. For appetizers we requested tuna and scallop towers but they said the sauce was not made so we tried the shrimp rolls which were very tasty and likely the best choice anyway. The waiter also brought crispy corn tortillas with an assortment of salsas that were spicy, but taste bud friendly For the main dishes I had the Barbajan. The tacos with the smoked pork bellies felt more like empenadas but were flavorful, and went well with the ceviche (spicy). Others had the Pastora, Breaded fish tacos, and Drunk Shrimp. I think the consensus was that the appetizers, the fish tacos and drunk shrimp were the tastiest. One other issue, and it's a bit petty, but there were 4 forks in a pouch on the table, and we had to request more after the appetizers as several were cleared. Overall, the food was flavorful and the servers were friendly.
Great servers, AMAZING FOOD. I love how they take pride in the food and they were very cognizant of my food allergies. They didn't have a huge beer or alcohol selection, but their food more than made up for that as there were plenty of places to drink around us--it's Cabo after all! One of my friends even had his aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins meet us here since they live in Cabo. Thank you for making our first night of 14 memorable and delicious!
After spending the day dorado fishing, we wanted a recommendation for a place that would prepare our fresh catch. We took the recommendation from our local inn (her grandfathers favorite place) and Wachinango's absolutely CRUSHED IT. The chef took it fillets and creatively served up 9 unique plates (5 starters and 4 main course), each with a distinct style to show off his culinary prowess. The only thing to come close to the the flavors was the personal attention from the chef who came out and discussed the style of each dish, what the origins were and what the best way to eat each one was! Incredible experience, and a perfect way to cap our stay in Cabo!
Hands down my favorite place for seafood and raw dishes in all of cabo! We came here last year and it was delicious then but last nights meal was just so amazing! There were three of us and we had multiple drinks (meichelads, beers, glasses of wine, iced tea, bottled water) and appetizers for a total of $70 We then decided to splurge and also order two specials; steak and lobster. Which was two lobsters and an 8oz ribeye per plate with mashed potato's, corn on the cob and char grilled veggies. $55/plate special We are planning on going back once maybe twice more to try more items and I will add more photos to this post as we go! You must not miss this place when in Cabo! The chef of this place has won several awards. He has michelin star training. The atmosphere itself is great and the servers are nice. Cool decor and only a block away from the tourist areas. We had the octopus taco and the tuna tostada. All to die for!!! My tostada came with large amount of sashimi tuna and shrimp on a layer of guacamole topped off with caramelized onion on a tostada in a soy lime sauce. Amazing! My group got the pulpo taco, which they are well known for, and said they have never tasted that good of a taco. I don't think you can have anything bad in this place. The locals sit here, so you know it's good.
Wachinango's may come across as a tourist trap given their location and vibe, but know that even the locals rave about their unique seafood offerings, and they're not wrong. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Great decor, abundant seating, and a welcoming vibe that can cater to everything from a family to a bachelor party. Wachinango's pairs this all with excellent service and speedy delivery. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? The unique seafood tacos at Wachinango's aren't the $1.00 that you might be used to spending elsewhere in the area, but for what you get the prices are still dirt cheap. A hearty octopus taco ran me only $3.00 USD, which is insane compared to pricing elsewhere, and heavy portions of sashimi on a torta are an equally reasonable $4.00 whereas you would easily spend $10+ back in the states. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Everything that I had at Wachinango's was good, and while I'm usually not a fan of octopus this was done right. A buttery smooth texture with just a tang of the unique flavor that octopus brings paired with some exotic peripherals and brought it all together. Excellent. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? The answer here would be a resounding yes if it weren't for one obstacle: Tacos Gardenias, which is in my mind still the reigning champion of seafood in Cabo San Lucas. No Star.
Got the cowabunga and one of the tuna tostadas to go. As many people have said before the cowabunga is absolutely phenomenal!! The salsas they have here are so so good as well as they have many options and spice levels. Highly recommend this place for your seafood cravings. read more

Wachinango's is a local spot for some brilliant local seafood. The interior decor is very eccentric. Plenty of random artifacts, trinkets and signs...not to mention objects like statues and other big displays. It's decent size venue with a bar in the middle. We didn't eat a lot since we were already stuffed. Wachinago: ~ Salsa Flight - 5/5 Brilliant concept! I wasn't sure what to expect...The level of spicy progresses form Left to Right. The salsas at the end (right) do have a good kick to it...my max tolerance level. But I might be a bad barometer, as I don't have a huge spice tolerance. Great flavor, very unique. ~ Tostada - 5/5 For the life of me I can't recall what we ate. I just know they were absolutely divine! If memory serves me correctly it was Octopus & Pork belly...I could be completely wrong. either way both were delicious. I'll just need to return and try everything again...and again... Best octopus I've ever had (and I've had my fair share). Chef Manny is a delight and hands on, he was there both times I was. There's not a losing dish on the menu, but his award-winning tacos, stuffed chocolate clams, and grilled octopus are off the charts. read more

Have been a few times now and very happy with the atmosphere and food. Only complaint is the advertised a surf and turf on Facebook and then when I inquired if the were going to have it when I came into town they didn't. But manny did make me ribeye chichirons. So that was great read more

Our first time and first night in Cabo and we struck gold! We were looking for dinner and stumbled on this amazing place. Great beachy decor that is vey welcoming and fun. The staff was very helpful and attentive, the music was perfect, drinks well made and tasty. All this would make for a good experience but no, they top it off with one of the best meals I've had in a long time. It started with chips and a selection of 5 salsas all different and amazing. They took my kids order first and hustled their plates out while my wife and I were still deciding what we wanted. A skilled maneuver by staff and much appreciated by a hungry 8yo and 11yo. His fish and chips was a plate large enough to feed a table. Obviously fresh fish and a light breading served with house mafe potato chips. Her chicken nuggets were also house made, not frozen. My wife and I split one of the shrimp ceviche style dishes as a starter. It came with 3 different salsas than the 5 we already had on the table. Each one was great and complemented the fresh shimp perfectly. My wife ordered the octopus and I ordered the smoked pork tacos just to test the kitchen. Other reviews on here have praised the octopus, they are spot on, perfectly grilled, tender and tasty. The sides with it were also great and well thought out, unique and interesting. The tacos were very good and more than a meal for two. Freshly made guacamole and a fresh corn salsa (#9 for those counting) that I would put on pretty much every food I'd ever eat rounded out the plate. We ended our meal with the sweet corn cake, not because we were still hungry, more to see what wonderful things they could do with dessert. We weren't disappointed, a lively piece of sweet, corny flavored cake with really good ice cream and a perfectly ripe strawberry. I had to battle my daughter for a share. All in all, great atmosphere, great staff, great drinks, outstanding food. Our bill came to $83 US, for four people, a bargain for a meal we'll talk about for a long time. The restaurant we were going to was closed so a friendly local directed us here. We were early, only a couple of others seated. The place is super cute, the bar is a refurbished van, the lights were made out of water jugs. We were greeted warmly, given a tray of delicious & increasingly hot dipping sauces creatively displayed on a miniature surf board. My husband ordered a beer & crispy tuna bites, I had a shrimp taco & a delicious Chardonnay. The food was fabulous, from the tuna to the vegetable infused rice everything was on point. We easily could have split the tuna, took it home for a delicious lunch the next day. Highly recommend for everyone who enjoys sea food which is their specialty. What a lovely surprise. read more

Thank you Yelp for another great suggestion. First time in Cabo and really wanted to get authentic seafood, searched and found this awesome spot. It is off the strip in a small tight street so if you're here at night be careful with the cars. Walked up and you can't miss the awesome themed decor. The chef greeted us at the main entrance ... mmm who does that?! Right away impressed with the customer service. It is very hot today, only downside is that there's no AC. The food selection on menu is awesome and great price. We had the ceviche and that was a meal for two. It was deliciousssssss! Do yourself a favor and stop by to support a local spot with an awesome chef! read more

Came here with a large group and Rudy took great care of us! The margaritas are good but I'd recommend you ask to get them blended. Food took a while but it was good for the most part. I'd definitely come again if I'm ever in Cabo. read more

I am so proud of my husband for finding this place, I knew he did well when our Uber driver said it was a great restaurant! Pictures really don't do this place justice! From the the salsas offered with the tortilla chips to the variety of fresh menu options, you will not be disappointed! I loved that the owner and head chef, Manny, actually greeted us and gave us an overview of the menu. Our choice of options for the night were: The Beyonce Lemonade, although it had a little kick so maybe call it Sasha Fierce, Beyonce's alter ego; Hibiscus Mezcal-Rica, Cabo Pulmo, shrimp rolls, tuna and scallop tower, the Pastora taco, El Sinaloense taco, a Chilaca taco, and a Selladito tostado. When I tell I am already planning my next trip to Cabo based on the food here, I KID YOU NOT! Flavor, flavor, flavor in every single bite! I am pretty sure I did a little dance at the booth a few times because it was that good! Highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area! read more
