Cool furniture store in Clovis near Hobby Lobby. They seem to specialize in patio and outdoor furniture. And not the cheaply made stuff. The items I saw looked like they would hold up for a long time. Adirondack chairs. Many color options. Beach inspired furniture, too. I stopped by to drop off some items for a local organization and the girl at the counter was very friendly and pleasant. They do have some indoor items, as well. Went here and was truly impressed with the selection of Patio furniture they had available and very reasonable prices for the quality. You were able to pick out your color Cushions and actually have some say in changing the chairs around. Yelpers, every now and again I come across something uniquely cool, oozing with value, and run by a local. That business is Michael Flanagan's Wholesale Furniture Club. This is a unique and very cool business. Located next to the Office Depot in Clovis, is this tiny "hole in the wall" store with some furniture and patio sets. I drove by thinking, "how on earth can a place with this little furniture survive in a town where stores are going out and the ones that are left are mega-stores like Macys or JC Penney. So I walked in and was blown away. Michael is a furniture guy. His model is simple, he sources furniture from all over the USA from hundreds of manufacturers. Many of them are brands you know or can buy for outrageous 200-300% markup at furniture stores. His deal is simple. Browse through the catalog, find pieces you like, he'll get them in and you can try them. His prices are amazing. I found those large patio umbrellas that you can get anywhere else for $800-$1200 selling for less than half that. Couches and chairs I've seen on "sale" at the other stores for over $2000, he is selling for way less. (like seriously 50% or more off those prices.) Why? Because he's trying to shake the business model and create a win-win. Furniture is outrageously marked up. Always has been. He is taking a modest margin and offering service and selection. And it's all spread by word of mouth. I am pleasantly surprised and glad I stopped in. We will be purchasing furniture here and I'm glad to find a local business that has a HUGE value proposition for locals in Fresno/Clovis area. I'm going to go ahead and call it the "best kept secret" in furniture. Don't pass up this little business, spread the word and go meet him.
