They suck. They don't have a car lift to inspect their cars. NOT RELIABLE. I hope they go out of business.

I called starks to give them a chance to make it right, but they denied any wrongdoing. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I hope this helps others avoid this headache.

I'm not familiar with the original owners but the current one will lie to get himself and his people paid as much as they can get out of the customers. They over charge and try to tell you to fix things that don't need to be fixed. They also lied about issues that weren't there and needing things with and for the car which I did not need. When I first came in I asked for an oil change and a state inspection and that was it. It was clear what I was asking for and how I asked for it. Then they told me they can't pass the inspection because of 7 different issues including ALL the tires and brakes. Okay that's annoying but it's whatever. I'm not a car guy but I gave them the benefit of the doubt I might've needed some fixing. Given the price of new tires yes the bill would be expensive but the total was WAY more than it should have been. Also the brakes were brand new so they were just straight up lying to my face. I didn't want to go through with it since the price helped my suspicions of them so I asked them to FAIL the inspection so I would be able to see what was wrong with it on an official document and try at a different place. Surprise they never initiated an official inspection like I asked for, Wasn't able to provide me with any official documentation of the inspection or failed inspection, And basically ignored my requests entirely. At the end of the day I paid for the oil change which I did actually get surprisingly but at a price of $200+ JUST FOR AN OIL CHANGE. When I asked why the bill was so high, the owners response was that he pays his workers hourly and that's the price I would have to pay since my car was there in the shop being looked at. Again the inspection never happened so I payed $200+ just for an oil change (included the oil; filter and such). I didn't trust them at all and hated the fact the people trying to rip me off had access to my car so I drove 2+ hours to a different shop where they were able to get my inspection passed and everything looked at within the hour. I showed them the price and list of things Stark's auto service wanted me to change or fix and literally LAUGHED. I've never seen or experienced anything like that before where a mechanic laughed at a projected receipt. They explained to me 5 of the things on there were completely falsified and they were trying to rip me off. Again with the benefit of the doubt I brought my car to another shop just incase It was opinionated or something but they said the same exact thing. Do NOT go to starks auto service. If I could I would rate this place 0 stars but I can't.

I'm new to the area and didn't really know what to expect. The Yelp reviews are pretty bad for this particular location but the Google reviews were better (and more plentiful) so I just decided to go with it because I could schedule it online and hopefully avoid long waits. My appointment was scheduled for 1:30pm so I was there on time and the guy seemed a little confused I had made an online appointment. He said they were running an hour behind and asked if I could just come back at 3pm. I said sure because I didn't have much else to do besides errands and really needed an oil change. I came back at 3 and they got me in quickly. I appreciate that they do an check of most things to make sure nothing is obviously wrong with your car. My tires are pretty worn and they pointed that out as well as gave me prices for some of the options they have in stock. The oil is quite expensive, and I know part of that is because of the age of my car but I still wonder if I may have just been better off changing the oil myself... The waiting room is pretty plain and gross- they had a court tv show on and those are just ridiculous these days. Not sure why anyone would play that instead of the news or a normal tv show. It'd be nice if they had coffee or water for guests, especially because some people wait a while. The biggest complaint I have is that I scheduled online, and they had my contact info so they should've called me earlier in the day to tell me they're running. Instead, I drove all the way there just to be told to come back again later. Not a humongous deal but if I had to work that day, it would've been a huge inconvenience and I likely would've just gone somewhere else. I also know for a fact that my brakes are getting extremely worn and have been acting a little funky but they said everything was fine with my breaks in the report. Odd... I don't know if I'll be back to this location. The service wasn't outstanding enough to make it memorable, so I'll probably explore cheaper options in the future.

The cost of the oil change was 3x the amount compared to when I asked when making the appointment over the phone. He's the most honest and straight forward mechanic you could ask for. One of my car's issues was with its computer, even though part of the repair went beyond this shops capabilities they still stayed in touch, recommending a car dealer and ensuring the proper repair was accomplished. They charge by the hour and do a great job at keeping you updated on the car's status. I don't plan on going to any other repair shop after working with these guys.

On the morning of 6/22, we called to confirm that the keys we left in the drop box had been received. We never received a call that day indicating the work had been completed, so we called again on the morning of 6/23. During that call, we were told they weren't sure why the vehicle was there and had been waiting for someone to call. We were then informed that the calibration would be completed that day. When we picked up the vehicle on 6/23, my significant other noticed that one of the windows had been left down. When he attempted to roll it up, it would not operate properly. What was especially concerning was that no one informed us of this issue before we picked up the vehicle. The window had been left open with paperwork and personal items inside the vehicle, leaving them exposed and within easy reach of anyone passing by. At a minimum, we would have expected to be notified of the issue before taking possession of the vehicle. I called the business politely to ask if anything had happened while the vehicle was in their possession so we could provide accurate information to our mechanic. I was not accusing anyone of causing the issue; I was simply looking for information. Unfortunately, the manager immediately became defensive, raised his voice, and began yelling during the conversation. Rather than speaking to me professionally, he repeatedly interrupted me, called me names, and spoke to me in a hostile and disrespectful manner. He also told me that if I came into the business to discuss the matter further, he would have me arrested. At no point was I threatening or aggressive--I was simply trying to understand what had happened to my vehicle. He hung up on me twice, and when I was finally able to speak with him again, the conversation remained hostile and unproductive. Instead of addressing a legitimate customer concern, he chose to belittle me and treat me with complete disrespect. Regardless of whether the business was responsible for the damage, customers deserve to be treated with professionalism and courtesy. The lack of communication regarding our vehicle, combined with the manager's behavior, made this an extremely frustrating experience. We have contacted our insurance company regarding the damage and will also be filing complaints with the appropriate consumer agencies. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this business. The customer service was unprofessional, communication was poor, and concerns were met with hostility rather than assistance. Based on other reviews it seems this is an on going issue

We had a big move ahead of us and I was trying to get preparations in order, including getting a hitch installed to our SUV so that we could pull a trailer for the move. I called and asked for a quote and they gave me one with or without parts in case I wanted to supply the hitch myself. I appreciated that and decided to order a hitch separately to save a little money. When I took it in for my appointment (baby with me waiting the entire time) everything went fine and I was out of there in a little over an hour. Flash forward a few days to when it's time for my husband to pick up the Uhaul trailer... they say we can't actually pick it up because we didn't have any of the necessary electrical wiring to hook up the trailer lights for brakes/hazards. Duh! Why didn't I think of that? Maybe because I'm a new mom with a baby and a big move and a lot going on. More importantly, why didn't anyone at Karch think to even ask about wiring? Who tows a trailer without hooking it up to electrical so you can use brake lights? I think I expected an establishment like theirs to be a little more helpful and at least mention it as a "hey, will you want any wiring for that?". After all, they do that with nearly every other service they provide. Pretty disappointed but the move has now been completed (after my husband had to drive over an hour one way to another place to get same day wiring done) and I am looking forward to finding a new auto shop to use instead of Karch.
