6 piece chick'n nugget, waffle fries, Vujee Vegan secret sauce
Bailey B.

A review of Vujee Vegan by a non-vegan! I'll go into detail about every item, but the TLDR is this is solid vegan food even for those of us who still eat meat products. :) I've heard really good things about Vujee Vegan and have been watching them grow through social media. They started doing pop ups, moved on to the MyKitchen concept, and are now serving out of The Foundation, a coffeehouse/hangout near Alabama A&M University. I tried them out yesterday. It was easy to order online. Orders are placed through ToastTab, and pretty much everything you can think of is covered there -- additions, subtractions, etc. I wanted to try a lot of different stuff because I wasn't sure what I would like. I ordered a 6 piece chick'n nugget, which came with waffle fries and my choice of sauce. I asked for Vujee Vegan's secret sauce and added on another sauce, the peach fire sauce. I also got a small cup of chili and a piece of cornbread. My order was packaged VERY nicely - not a hair out of place - which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my extra peach sauce was left out. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things money-wise (it cost 75 cents), but I did miss trying it. I'm not sure if the individual who gave me my food was a Foundation employee or a VV employee, but she was super welcoming, warm, and friendly. She made sure I got my receipt and wished me a lovely day. She was a pleasure to talk to. I noshed on my food in the car. First, I tried the chick'n nuggets. Usually, vegan nuggets are made of soy, but I don't think these are -- not sure what the meat substitute is, though. Regardless, texture wise, if you're looking for a vegan nugget that reminds you of the real thing, this is definitely it. Honestly, if I closed my eyes and ate one and you told me it was a McDonald's nugget, I'd probably believe you. However, like a McDonald's nugget, I also found the flavor to be a *little* lacking. It didn't taste bad at all - just needed a little extra oomph somehow. That's where the dipping sauce comes in! The VV secret sauce was good: sweet, tangy, and a tiny bit savory. I enjoyed it, and it brightened up the nuggets. The fries were good! The serving size is on the larger side of a small (just FYI for people with large appetites) and the fries were hot and not soggy by the time I unboxed them. They were still a little soft and tender on the inside, too, which I tend to like with my waffle fries. My favorite item was definitely the chili! It's made with lots of beans, tomatoes, and onions, along with a beefless crumble. The crumble very much had the texture of beef, but didn't have the flavor of beef - it really just took on the flavor of the spices in the chili. For me, that was fine! This chili tasted like a really good meatless chili, which I happen to like a lot anyway. I didn't much care for the vegan cheese and chose not to sprinkle it into my bowl, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the vegan sour cream. I love sour cream and couldn't believe how close this got -- the flavor was spot on. I ate every bite. The cornbread was good - maybe a little dry, but pleasantly and not overwhelmingly sweet. I like sweet-ish cornbread and it went well with the chili. Overall, I'd definitely reorder the chili and fries. Maybe chili fries next time? ;) I hear so so so many good things about the burgers, too, so I'd like to try those in the future. This is a solid addition to the vegan scene, and the food scene overall, in Huntsville. Give them a try!

3stars because it was good. But average. (Or at least to my palette) Having moved away from the area, when i visit I like to support new eateries and especially mom and pop. And more recently, places that offer a vegetarian/vegan option Found Vujee online and the GPS took me to a location with no VUJEE signage on the outside. Outdoor says "The Foundation", and indoors there's "fast food-coffee shop type" table seating and two windows with different registers: one for a meat offering, the other, the Vujee A little confusing for new people, the person manning both registers clued me in Seems food trucks and similar, need an affiliation w a brick and mortar,so the "The Foundation" offers an opportunity for validity and licensing to many type of food offerings..many of which are mobile Note: I was advised that this "umbrella corp" would be moving to a new location by 2024. Vujee: the menu online and the menu at the registered differed a bit...but once again, the gentleman at the register cleared up the confusion. Also note: seemingly some of the pics on the website are for catered items only, and not available on the regular menu The "new" imposible/beyond processed meat substitute used for burgers and chili and such seem to be a fan favorite, but I opted to try the Nashville spicey ckn and waffle fries first, and later that evening grabbed the chili to go Not a bad ckn burger I suppose it meets the purpose of a meat sub. Thinking it was a "chef creation", I'm convinced it's a typical (veggie) ckn patty you can buy in any grocery store) but covered with the Nashville hot sticky sauce. And do not automatically assume it's overall "healthier eating". It's still fried. It's still on a bun. It still comes with fried potatoes. So if you simply don't want to avoid meat, then it's a great sub. If u want healthy...that's a diff story So the ckn burger and fries were good..but since they don't make a "non-big box corporate burger you can buy from any store", I consider it average: similar to my other reviews of other "veggie" places who do the same I expect this of Burger King and Appleby's, but for a chef that can do whatever she likes, I want more creativity. However, I also know that you have to cater to the masses before you can branch out doing whatever you fancy...so if this is what needs to be done to keep the lights on, I support. Quite a few people picked up their online orders and the few who stayed and ate had conversations on how they stopped eating meat for various reasons and was glad this was an alternative I was raised without meat in the 70s and 80s, so meat was never an entree. Instead, things made with beans or nut meal, real " from scratch" offered a healthy tasty legume/protein alternative Several hours later: The chili had a sweet kick vs spicey, didn't try the fake cheese, but the sour cream was decent: I put the chili on a baked potato and was pleased Both the workers were friendly and easy to talk to and helped describe the food options in helping my decision I recommend you support, but keep an eye out for a possible new location in the near future ?.

Seriously tough call on the rating here. I think I'll settle on a 3 but it was super close to a 4,…read morejust several minor frustrations added up. I came here with one of my best friends who was home for Thanksgiving to have a girl's day out. BeeZr advertises a nice-looking brunch on the weekends so we thought we'd try it out. She wound up not being able to meet until later in the afternoon but I'm not opposed to a late brunch, so we got there around 1. It was a gray and dreary day on Thanksgiving weekend, so I get it being slow, but the restaurant was literally empty except for us and the servers. We joked it was because we'd rented the whole building to treat each other. The vibe is...fine inside. It definitely looks and feels more like a brewery than a restaurant, with large equipment and a sort of dimly lit atmosphere and a few large TVs by the nice bar. They have a small patio on the square which is REALLY lovely and definitely would've been my preference if the weather was nicer. Our server was okay. He was soft-spoken and not unpleasant, but did sort of have a knack for appearing at inopportune times during the conversation. I get that it's not always possible to avoid, but a little more discretion would've gone a long way, especially since we were the only ones in there. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. My biggest frustration was definitely the menu and item availability. I pre-read it and came knowing what I wanted (bananas foster French toast) only to discover that they were running a limited Thanksgiving weekend brunch menu and therefore it wasn't being offered that day. The first thing my friend ordered also wasn't available. I had my heart set on brunch so I asked for the breakfast burrito instead. Our waiter had to go check and make sure the kitchen could do it. Turns out they could - yay. But then I asked for potatoes to go with it -- and there were no breakfast potatoes available. I went with fries instead. When my burrito arrived at the table, there was no salsa or sour cream, which was supposed to come with it. Any component part of this experience is not a HUGE deal, but it all added up to be rather disappointing. My friend got the bulgogi tacos, which came in an order of two sort of small tacos. She liked them and said they were really good. She also got first a French mimosa and then a classic mimosa; I also had a classic mimosa. Both were generic but enjoyable. My breakfast burrito was decent, but I really missed the salsa and sour cream. The bacon inside was cut into tiny crunchy pieces, which I liked. The eggs were cooked very well but needed more salt and pepper. I enjoyed the bright burst of peppers and some were even a tiny bit spicy. It was a large serving but I wish it came with some side item instead of me having to order one. The side of fries was generous and they were really good -- super crispy but still fluffy inside. I thought the bill was a little high for 1 mimosa, a breakfast burrito, and fries -- almost $40. The burrito alone was $18, which seems like sooooo much for a brunch entree with no sides. Idk. Maybe I don't do mid-scale dining enough. Overall, I thought the quality of the food was solid enough that I'd consider returning, but I'd call ahead to see if they had what I wanted to avoid frustration.

I had never been to this place until I had a group meeting there. Staff was very accommodating,…read moreseating us upstairs immediately and making sure we had plenty of tables, chairs, plates, etc. I will note that the upstairs is HOT so they had industrial sized fans (eek!), but I think that's just do to the building. The pizzas weren't amaaaazing, but they were good. I tried the pepperoni and bulgogi and both were decently executed and ample in size. They have outdoor seating if that's your thing, service is good, and they really try hard. I'd go back.

Service has always been hit or miss. We've learned to give ourselves plenty of time to be seated and served. One thing that remains consistent is the time it takes to get your check. If you're in a hurry, ask for it before you finish eating. Happy hour is 4-6 Sunday through Thursday. Discounts on beer, wine and craft cocktails - a pretty good deal. A few apps are on special too. I ordered the Tupelo Honey margarita. Delicious. So good that I had a second. I ordered the grilled chicken piccata. It was good but really could have used a little more seasoning. My husband ordered the fish and chips - it had quite a bit of excess breading that he pulled off. We usually share a meal but in this case, the dinners really weren't large enough for two people to share. We met some friends for dinner. One ordered the Ruben - good but not in the top 5. The other friend ordered the Rustica Italian pasta with conecuh sausage. She said the pasta was good but the sausage was just thrown in more as an afterthought. We went to another show on Friday and once again, chose Rhythm on Monroe for dinner. This time I ordered a burger and my husband the pulled pork sandwich. The burger was definitely nothing special. The patties had the charcoal grilled flavor reminiscent of a Burger King burger. The pork was huge. My husband liked it but I didn't care for the sauce. He subbed onion rings for the fries - it was an amazingly large serving of rings. I had the fries. They weren't hot when served so I asked for fresh fries. They were good. There are a lot of great restaurants in Huntsville. Rhythm on Monroe is definitely not the best but for location - you can't do much better.
