I've heard of Melt but had never been to one, so when I saw a location nearby my hotel in downtown Huntsville, I added it to my must-do list. I arrived on a Sunday evening around 6. Some tables were full but it wasn't packed and I was seated right away. Ambiance is casual with a mix of high and low tables, some outdoor space, and a big bar in the middle that is open to both inside the restaurant and the outdoor area. My server was friendly and welcoming, making nice recommendations about the menu. I had the half wedge salad ($6 and a tip from the server because only the full size is listed on the menu) and the chicken-bacon-ranch melt with tots ($14). The salad was fresh and crisp, with a nice amount of blue cheese and dressing. The sandwich is fine. I actually found the bread quite dry and think that a spread of butter or oil on the outside of the saddle may help it toast up with a bit more flavor. Next time I would probably try the patty melt, I was torn between the two. The rosemary ketchup was tasty. One thing I found a bit strange was that the table had a card of summertime cocktails, but absolutely no prices on anything. Even in the regular drink menu, there was no price listed for wine, beer or other drinks. I like to know how much a cocktail is before I order it, and it seemed uncomfortable to ask. I stuck with water. Overall, I'm glad I tried Melt. I'm not sure I'd be in a super rush to go back, but it would be an option if it was convenient. read more

I was visiting the area and decided to try this place out. There is street parking available. This place had great ambience and was family friendly. There was a little play area right outside near the patio. I ordered the Flyin Hawaiian with Cucumber and Tomato salad and the Fried Oreo (3 for $5). Everything tasted amazing. I usually only prefer pineapple with other fruits, but it was excellent in this sandwich which was rich with flavor. The Fried Oreos were piping hot and amazing!
