I surprised my wife with a dinner on the balcony of the 6th floor at The Vue for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. It was spectacular. My wife had no idea what was going on until she walked out onto the balcony and saw the the very nice layout of food & flowers. Heather was very helpful and instrumental in helping me pull this off. She made sure the setting was just right and even added some very nice flowers that made it very special. I was able to play the music from our wedding reception over the house sound system which was very nice. I guarantee it was a dinner that will not soon be forgotten! read more

As you can tell, I was at the same event the other reviewer attended. I also would have given this venue a 5 star rating for being modern and very well appointed, or perhaps a 4, once you factored in the VERY high, for Corvallis, rental price. Either way it could have ended this way had it not been for a VERY rude event planner, hostess, whatever her title was. I have never seen someone act so disrespectfully to anyone. If you are arranging a wedding and something happens to go not as planned, who do you talk with? The father of the bride/groom? Best man? Maid of honor? ANYONE but bring your troubles to the bride. Which is exactly what happened. This lack of respect for the woman's special night is uncalled for. I was also there for the push to the back and "lets go!" at the end of the night. I haven't even been pushed out of a dive bar (Peacock or similar) when it's time to leave, they know it's not appropriate to lay your hands on people. To further infuriate us, we offered to help the family of the groom cleanup and pack items out the following day. This lady had the gall to follow us to the alley and get in the last word about all the problems. Can we not let it go? Final: Beautiful view and venue, Witch of an event organizer. Attended a party at the View for a printing company a few weeks back and it was brilliant. The View is well named for having the most spectacular view of Corvallis. I wish I could make it into my penthouse! I think they have had some service teething problems but some of the comments seem to be about external catering and meeting planners which sadly I don't think is the fault of the View but they have to be careful as it reflects upon them. Service was fine at the event I attended and the layout was excellent. I recommend it upon my one experience as a perfect place for a business or special personal event. read more

I toured the Vue (formerly Strega) as it's construction was nearing completion. I was blown away then, and continue to be blown away every time I hang out there for various functions. The interior design of the place is beautiful and the views are awe-inspiring. The space is versatile. I've personally hosted a sit-down business forum for 50 plus with hot-food service and have also attended standing networking mixers and receptions. The rates are quite reasonable and the management simple to work with. In all of my experience, all of the event coordination and prep was timely, and almost entirely unseen, in the background. I will definitely use the space again and encourage others to do the same. read more

This review is solely for "Heather E." whom I believe is the manager of Vue. You can read my previous reviews for the back story on why I gave Vue 1-star, but I am shocked at the utter lack of professionalism that Heather has shown with me. Two weeks ago I received YET ANOTHER message from her begging me to take down my review. I have now received no fewer that FIVE separate messages from Heather asking to remove this review. Not to mention her comments to my posts, etc. Here's the bottom line: I had a poor experience at Vue. I Yelped about it. That's what Yelp is all about, is it not? It's nothing personal; that's just what happened, and I'm not going to remove my post in an effort to erase the poor experience that I and many others in the group suffered through at the hands of Vue staff. I'm beginning to wonder why Heather can't just let this go. Vue has a 4-star rating. Last I checked, that's pretty positive and rather respectable! But beware. potential Vue clients...if your opinion differs with Heather she will NOT let it GO! Have I mentioned that this event was over THREE YEARS AGO??? And she's still bickering and fighting over it as if it's driving away business. Here is an example of the effort being expended on ONE negative Yelp review. Be sure to pay attention to the last line, as it is a good indicator of the smarmy, snarky attitude which permeates nearly all of Heather's correspondence with me. "Jason, I wanted to get on this site and deal with this review and you like a hole in the head. I am so sick of this site and its negativity. However, I am running a business and I get new clients who are asking me about your review and Tims. So I consulted with Yelp and they assisted me in "how to play their game for businesses to send a comment back on a negative review" and I did that using their advise. This has nothing to do with you, trust me. It is just for business reasons only.If you want to bitch, bitch at Yelp for never letting anything die and move on. This is just a heads up that I wrote a response back on your review since I still get feedback on that wedding because of yours and Tims "always there review" 3 years later. Hope your reviews make you feel like a good person. Heather" I have done NOTHING wrong here. I wrote a review, that's it. When she contacted me about it, I (initially) politely declined to remove it. Yet she persisted, and prior to this message I asked her to stop contacting me about it, or I would be forced to write another update and expose her unprofessional behavior. In closing, I harbor no ill feelings towards the Vue. It is a beautiful venue, that's for certain. But Heather certainly does not understand boundaries, especially those related to customer service. Regardless of the beauty of the venue, I would never steer anyone towards Vue for an event for fear that they would have to deal with the ridiculous harassment that I have been subjected to over a lousy online review. The Vue is an exceptional event venue that is truly one of a kind in the Corvallis area. The decor in the Vue is absolutely stunning! If you are planning an event at the Vue, you can cross decorating off your to-do list. The fiber optic ceilings, waterfalls, and breathtaking view of Mary's Peak will please any crowd. I have personally worked with Heather on several occasions and have always been impressed. She is very professional and will make sure your event runs smoothly. If you're looking for a place to hold an event or a wedding, the Vue is definitely worth considering. Once you've seen it in person, other event venues in the area don't even compare. I've been to many local networking events (SpeakerLunch, SAO Corvallis, WiN) at the Vue and have always loved the space, the view, and the atmosphere. Its especially awesome at night. Really, its one of a kind for the area. Heck, you probably have to go to Portland to get anything close. I wish it was a bar that I could go to whenever I wanted to! We had our wedding here this August 7th, and absolutely everything was wonderful! The beautiful interior made it so we didn't have to do much decorating, we didn't use tablecloths or chair-covers and that saved us a bundle right there. Just flowers scattered around, which Heather let us come in to set up the night before, and she actually placed them on the tables for us since she wanted to clean the floors after we set stuff up. Heather was amazing, I don't know why she is getting such a bad rap. She helped us with everything, was helpful over the phone whenever I called to talk to her, and made the day of the wedding go super smooth. She knew I was worried about the cardboard circle the cake would be coming on, and when the morning of the wedding came and she found out it couldn't be removed, Heather went around to all of our flowers and took tiny bits and pieces to place around the cake base and hide the cardboard! I was very happy to have her (and another woman on the day of the wedding) there. This is one of the classiest places in Corvallis to have a wedding. Everything is gorgeous and you don't have to worry about hiding the 'ugly' parts of the venue with decorations since there is no ugly part. The only (small) downside would be that they don't have a kitchen set up for cooking, but it wasn't a problem for us. We used the fridge for cooling our champagne and coca-cola the night before and the caterer brought in the food pre-cooked. I highly recommend at least looking into this venue if you are getting married in Corvallis. It was even more beautiful when we walked into it than it looks in the photos on the website. I have gotten SO MANY compliments on the location of our wedding, it made everything else super easy! read more

Last spring my daughter announced she wanted a wedding. And she wanted me to pay for it. And she wanted it by a certain date. With my travel schedule, that meant either it was happening in two weeks, or I couldn't be there. Thankfully, we scored an opening at the Vue! The Vue is a beautiful venue, with gorgeous views. The all-glass doors across the deck can be completely open or closed, depending on the weather. There's a fireplace, a bar, they have tables available, you can use one or two floors. The Vue is such an attractive location that I didn't have to spend an extra dime to decorate. The short-notice wedding was amazing and perfect. The catering was well orchestrated, perfectly timed, beautifully arranged. Everyone was taken care of and happy. I've been taking credit for this amazing feat of perfect wedding planning, but It's time to confess: all I did was have the good sense to let Heather at the Vue take care of me. Heather made it all happen; all I did was enjoy the day. And take credit. Just don't tell my daughter; she still thanks me for how beautiful her special day was : ) read more

I love the Vue for our fundraising events. We used to have a musical event in a park and it was fun, but at the Vue, we: 1) raise more money - I think the nice surroundings make people more generous. 2) have almost zero staff set up time. At my last event, I got there about one and a half hours early and ended up sitting around for about an hour and fifteen minutes after I put up my two posters and some table decorations - the Vue does all the heavy lifting. The crazy thing is that even though the event is in the swankiest place in town with a menu to match, we end up saving a bunch of money because we don't have to rent tables, chairs, tents, decorations, etc. I love the Vue (and Forks and Corks is amazing too)! read more

I don't understand the staff "bashing". The Vue is a gorgeous venue and the staff have been incredibly helpful and hospitable. They have gone out of their way several times to ensure that our events have been special and successful. I think guests also need to be considerate and responsible, as it is a rented facility. They do have rules that need to be followed and if you are not able to follow the rules - you should be escorted out. The rest of their clients that follow the established rules are very very happy with this venue and their staff. We have had numerous successful events with many happy attendees. The Vue is an incredible venue with posh style! I have been fortunate enough to attend several events at the Vue. Each event has flowed so effortlessly and the vendors are all very friendly and professional. The location is very conveniently located in downtown Corvallis and is like nothing else with stunning lighting, furniture, and views. Their website is also very helpful with numerous pictures and listed prices so you don't have to waste time inquiring and can get to planning. Also, Heather the events coordinator is very knowledgeable. She handles each event with ease and is a pleasure to work with. Held my wedding here and would not chose to do so again. Not very accommodating and often downright rude throughout the process- very odd considering how much money they cost. They seem to know they are the only place in town to have such a high end event space- and act like it. All in all would not chose it again if I had the chance. A bit disorganized on the day of also. We went to a wedding there yesterday, the place is nice and there's an outdoor balcony to hold the ceremony. My complaint is the staff. They weren't very helpful, when I asked for a bottle of water the woman just pointed across the room. There was a big bottle of water and some cups, but she couldn't have said that? After the ceremony we were standing/sitting around talking, I hadn't seen my cousins for awhile and wanted to catch up before we got to the crowd downstairs. This was like 10 minutes after the wedding ceremony. A woman, I heard someone call her Kate, started packing up the folding chairs. The chairs were still being used, and some by elderly people and she was clanking them around and stacking them on these huge carts parked right in the middle of our family! She packed up all the chairs but the ones we were sitting on then looked at us like we were in the way. From what the bride told me the cost for the room was over $3000 and the staff couldn't have waited 15 minutes for us to go downstairs? I'm getting married in December but I won't be going there! read more

I was a guest at this venue during the weekend of June 30th. The venue was nice, However, my wallet was in my boyfriend's suit jacket, which he had hung on his chair during dinner. At the end of the night and after we had walked upstairs for the cake cutting, he went to retrieve his jacket. When he went downstairs it was no longer on the chair. There were several facility staff around and they all told him and acted like they had not seen it. But he found his jacket hanging on the coatrack by the elevator. He didn't think anything of it, but when we got to the car, he handed me back my wallet and I saw that all my cash was missing. Someone had conveniently stolen all the money from my wallet and nicely hung up his jacket for him. It was honestly the worse way to end the night. I just wanted to share this story because the venue was generally good otherwise, but my night was completely ruined because of an unscrupulous staff member. I hope that Vue can better train their staff in the future. read more

I was the bestman at my brothers wedding 4/24/10, the same event 3 other reviewers where at (jay, tim, and megan). Same review as theirs. Would have been 4 or 5 stars. Great place, beautiful view but the Event Designer, Heather, was horrible. According to Heather every party held at the Vue so far has had problems, sounds to me like Heather is the problem. She was dressed like she just finished a nature hike. She brought all the problems to the Bride and Groom, I had told her earlier to bring problems or questions to me so the Bride and Groom could enjoy their day. 3 people were visibly intoxicated and had already been cut off by the bartender, 2 of which were not causing any problems. 1 intoxicated person got sick so Heather abruptly shut the power off to the music and started physically pushing people out the door. Bar-tending and catering were great provided by Cloud (seperate from the Vue), good food and fast service. Too bad such a great location will soon get a bad name because Heather the event designer can't handle 4 drinks being spilt and 1 person getting sick. read more
