I met with Jimmy, who's people-skills and service was well above what I have come to expect compared to the experiences I've had at other pawn shops in the Denton area. It is also very clean, especially after their renovations. This shop is definitely worth checking out.

I found this shop on Craigslist when I was looking for a Djembe drum. I contacted them via email…read moreand Katy was very gracious and offered to provide extra pictures for me. She offered to hold the drum for me all week since I couldn't get there until Saturday. I work in North Dallas and it was still a bit of drive to Denton, but boy was it worth it. I asked a question about the drum to the owner, Glen, and the first words out of his mouth were, "I know that I'm taking off $15.00 because of a slight tear on the drum head!" I hadn't even noticed it! He then offered to help me whenever I wanted to replace the drum head in the far future. His employee was also very nice. So I would highly recom- mend this pawn shop to anyone looking for a used instrument. They deal in high end equipment and their prices are very reasonable.

When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and offered assistance, but we were just browsing so we declined. As we wandered towards the guitars (plenty of which they have out and ready to play) I was already surprised to come across trombone and tuba stands. I also can't recall seeing so many amps in one place before! As I wandered around I didn't just see guitars, but massive drum sets, stage lighting and DJ equipment! There were also replacement parts and cleaning equipment too. It appeared to have a range for all budgets too! This is a one stop shop, wow!! I think my favorite little find was the percussion section. I stopped because I was trying to figure out what a plastic yellow banana was doing in a music store. It was a shaker, in fact there was a fruit shaker assortment, lol. That led me to checking out the different shapes of tambourines and I discovered not one, but three types of cowbells! That literally made my day! The only real regret I had about not asking for assistance is I spotted what appeared to be a rehearsal room in the back with clear glass that was labeled Acoustic Instruments. I could see some acoustic guitars on the wall in there, but there were also people in there and I didn't want to risk interrupting a lesson or rehearsal. I wanted to ask about it, but only for my own curiosity. Since there were so many customers around needing help, I decided to let it slide and discover the answer on a future visit. They offer music lessons, which is cool! They had a couple of programs and they had their instructors listed on a wall with their credentials and what they teach. It seems they all teach guitar, bass and ukulele. I also noticed drums and keys on there too. This is a great spot to stop in and check out and jam a little while perusing. If you're ready to drop some cash on a Fender, you can do that here. If you got a student learning a new instrument, they have guides and instructional materials. If you need coaching, they offer lessons. If you damaged something, they offer repair. I saw some used items too, so if you are looking to unload an older instrument, you can apparently do that here too! You can even just stop in and get some musician inspired playing cards! How cool! Have fun! :)
