DROP HER OFF. She's not a package she's a sick dog who needed help. The next vet said you are not a client we just saw your dog on a referral, meanwhile my dog needs immediate emergency help. Thank God, and I mean THANK GOD for Johnstown Veterinary Associates on Messenger St. staff Missy and Gabby were SO helpful and knowledgeable. So important in the time of need. The vet Dr Assad was so concerned and his care for my lil dog was as if the dog was his. If they would have turned me away like others who don't accept new patients my lil helpless dog would have not survived another day. What a blessing they were for us today. They were swamped with emergencies etc today and they still found time to help my lil 13 lb Boston. Thank God and thank you Johnstown Veterinary Associates for caring so much. You are the BEST!!!!!!! AND my lil dog is already better. So nice that they care!! The facility is very clean and staff are very professional. Well organized!

It seems that some of the support staff have poor phone and people skills. I called to see if I could have one of the doctors look at my dog who wasn't being herself. I gave a list of symptoms and heard the receptionist sigh and say I couldn't be seen until the following week. I politely said that would be fine. On the day of the visit, my dog and I arrived early and waited our turn. The tech took all my information and list of symptoms that my dog was experiencing. I said what I suspected could be causing my dog's issues. The tech literally rolled her eyes and stated "Oh, it's not that!" Well, the vet comes in and does a brief exam and says the problem was what I had previously stated! The tech said nothing in way of apologizing. I don't know what the issues are with the staff who work here. Three stars because the following day, the doctor called and gave me the bloodwork results confirming my dog's diagnosis and offered to answer any questions I would have in the future. My dog is doing better but will have an ongoing health problem. The vet tech should refrain from making off the cuff diagnoses.

I have read the reviews here on yelp. So when my iPhone [decided] to create a short movie of…read morepictures I took with my dog and Dr. Halden, watching it made me think... and I thought I would point out my view of this veterinarian's office. We have received the most wonderful care. My dog Ember's reaction to KVET is pure joy when we walk in the door, it is undoubtably her favorite place to be. That tells me a lot! She's had a couple injuries and because of this she's spent more time at KVET than your average Pet. From the amazing ladies at the front desk to the technicians who provide countless duties and the veterinarians that care for my furry family members, [all of them] there are no words to describe my gratitude for the care we receive here. And I'm going to point out this little story that cemented my feelings about the care given when we come here... Dr. Halden was out of the office this week. But we were still able to get my Ember's cold laser treatment with one of the vet techs. The technician who worked with her on this day was one that I personally have yet to encounter. I have seen him, but never had he worked with my dog directly, that I knew of. See, when a technician takes your dog in the back to get bloodwork, x-rays, etc., etc. there's no way of knowing what goes on back there. Now Ember always comes out happy! And I saw one of the reasons why during our cold laser treatment. Tim, the gentleman who worked on Ember this day, came in and it was obvious that Ember knew him. She was so happy to see him. And as he worked on her, and I have provided a picture of her looking at him, there was genuine love in my dogs eyes. I asked him if he had ever encountered Ember in the back before. And he said he had. And that's when I realized, Ember's treatment extends much further than I had ever seen. I believe the team at KVET treats my pets the same as they would treat their own. And that's just wonderful stuff! NOTE: they treat me pretty darn well too.

DO NOT BRING ANY PET TO THIS PLACE!…read more my first experience was minor but my 22 year old cat was bleeding from the rectum and dying... you know when the end is near! I called kvets to have him put down so that he would not suffer. their response was that before they could do that they would need to run a series of test and do a full examination. $$$$$$$$ ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was hysterical crying, hung up and reached out to another vet in the area who did what needed to be done quickly and for a very, very, reasonable fee. My second experience was with my dog who suddenly could barely walk. we were still new to Greensburg so we called kvets (not sure why) but they said to bring him in. they ran tests, did xrays and were completely stumped and just sent us home with no answers giving us a ridiculous bill! that night, after they closed our boy got worse so we rushed him to Avets. the second they looked at him and touched his leg, the doctor at AVets said he had lymes disease and would do a blood test which came back positive in less than 30 minutes. we got meds a bill 1/4 of what kvets charged and went home. after 2 weeks our dog was fine. how could no one at kvets not know Lyme symptoms in Pennsylvania where ticks and Lyme disease are common? Kvets is all about $$$$$ and is the most inhumane veterinary organization I have ever dealt with! Can I change my star rating to negative 5?

She never had anything seriously wrong with her until she got her yearly Bordetella shot on August 30, 2024. She began experiencing a cough and after the cough, she had trouble catching her breath. Around 2:00 in the morning on Friday, September 6th, she collapsed in my arms. I gently shook her and breathed into her mouth. This seemed to revive her, but she was still having difficulty breathing. As soon as this clinic opened at 8 am, I called and insisted I bring Holly in. They said they didn't know what they could do for her since they weren't set up to give her oxygen, but they agreed to see her. They gave her an x-ray and said she had an enlarged heart and some inflammation in her lungs. We went home with an antibiotic that I was to give Holly twice a day for 14 days. They should have given her a shot of antibiotics there at the office. They should have given her a steroid shot to reduce the swelling of her lungs. But they did neither. As a result, my little Holly died 4 hours after we got home. I trusted this clinic. They said she might need oxygen, but did not indicate that it was urgent. If you don't want your dog to end up like mine. find another veterinary clinic. If I ever have another dog, I will NOT use this clinic.
