First time customer with friends who visit a different brewery every month. Walking in the front door was not very welcoming. There is a pile of chairs and other things and we wondered if we were in the right place. We headed to the right where we could see the bar and found many high top and some low top tables. The inside is dark and interesting and I really liked how the bar was set up, with all the various beers named on bright signs. We chose a high top and found we had to pull-up the beer menu on our phones. That is not my favorite way to look at a menu, especially when there is such a large variety. The beer choices were great and you can even do flights. I LOVE that they do a half pour because you can then try different types. I had the red beer, whose name I can't remember and it was good. The menu has a great selection but I chose poorly. I ordered the Chicago Bear and it was just chuck full of bland roast beef. I couldn't taste the cheese and the onions and peppers were bland as well. Huge disappointment. In fact, 3 out of 4 of us didn't enjoy the food, but we all liked the beer. Service was very good. They gave a very generous brisket portion with onion strings cheese and BBQ sauce piled high in between Texas Toast. This sandwich was soo good and filling it blew my socks off. I came here for the food as I do not drink alcohol. I tried the brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, fries and chips. Fries were good but very salty. My friends really enjoyed the different beer options. From the outside, the place looks a bit plain but when you go inside it has a lot of character. I really liked Voodoo Brewing! It's a spacious venue, with two floors. The first floor is comprised of the bar, tables, and lots of extra seating. The upstairs is more of a lounge vibe with pinball machines and extra space. Voodoo Brewing is primary known for it's elaborate selection of on-tap beers and ciders, but I got the steak salad. Heard that it won an award for best brewery from Tampa beer week so gotta check it out. Nice vibe. Large but bummed that no outside seating other than 4 or 5 tables on the street. ( not a fan of that on such a busy stree ) Went towards the back a bit more quiet to talk. Gia our waitress was very nice and very helpful with beer and food details. A wide selection of beers including many from other breweries. A couple of us had the brown ale. Very good! The other had a pineapple seltzer which she found refreshing. We were visiting the area for a couple of Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training games and happened upon this bar while heading toward the Central Avenue area of St. Petersburg, Florida. The brewery immediately caught our eye as we were driving by, it looked like it had a great vibe and a really inviting setting. After stopping in, we were happy to find that it definitely lived up to that first impression. The beers we tried were above average, and there were also plenty of other typical beer options you'd expect to find at a bar if craft beer isn't your thing. We didn't try any of the food, so we can't comment on that. Service was great as well. The bartender was very friendly and helped guide us with our selections, which made the experience even better. I've been watching this being built for the past 2 years during my visits to St. Pete, so I was finally glad to see it open. I would say my first two visits were solid. The place is very spacious with lots of seating, including upstairs area with retro games. I'd tried the Lacto Kooler before and it is not my thing, but I was told it recently won some award, so grabbed a taster to retry...still not my thing. The Oh Mama was easy drinking and my favorite. For food, I got the St. Pete Caprese, which was covered in field greens. This was unique for me, and I thought it worked. My friends enjoyed their food too. Upstairs they have about six or seven pinball machines, electronic dartboard, pool table and a couple other games. The place is huge with lots of seating upstairs and downstairs. Big bar area that includes liquor, which is nice for people who don't drink beer. They have about 20 taps with about 8 to 10 dedicated to their beer. I had already eaten and had a couple of vodka sodas somewhere else so I just got an empty calories which is their light lager. My friend sampled a few things and got an IPA. Friendly staff. Beer was cold. They were having a voodoo idol karaoke competition and it was pretty packed for a Tuesday night. We went upstairs and played pimple. Great selection of beer on tap (the Lacto-Kooler was phenomenal), and they made a great Bloody Mary; but, for me, the showstopper was their Voo-Dill pickle pizza. Our food was slow to arrive but they were down to one food that day and hustling as fast as possible. I had a delicious turkey club with house made potato chips.
