We are thrilled that the Monk now has food all the time - lunch and dinner! BubbaQue's BBQ food truck is permanently located just outside. Offering most of the same items as their main menu at the restaurant. That's not all that's changed. Big Top Brewery has purchased a controlling interest and will be moving its tanks into what was the "tap room" here, while it builds out its new space on Fruitville. So the pool table is now in the corner opposite the stage, and the food ordering process is a bit different. Check the menu, order from the single kiosk, enter your cell phone number, wait for a text, then go outside to pickup your order. Payment at the kiosk. Awkward but effective. Note - Only one side per order here vs two at the restaurant. Beer and other drinkage is ordered from the staff and billed separately. Adds another step - hopefully they'll combine these at some point. We ordered a Mother Clucker - Smoked Chopped Chicken Topped with Melted Cheddar, Bakon, Beer Battered Onjun Rings and Tractor Grease®! and an Ole Caroline - Hand Pulled Pork, Topped with Cheddar Cheese, Cole Slaw and best with Moonshine Sauce®. Both delicious! Our server Delaney was terrific and served up our beers and provided lots of background as she works at Big Top and here at Monk. I stopped by here on my birthday for a brew and a snack to start the day. The brewery is really nice and has a lot of seating space to accommodate even a large group. The taplist is pretty diverse although they didn't have many IPAs on the particular day I stopped by. Flights are $13 which is a good price based on the pour and the staff is very friendly. They do serve food as well. Get the wings! I ordered mine grilled, hot and wet. Tasty! There is a check-in offer for a free 3 pour flight which I forgot about when I ordered. The beertender said we would need to come back to use it which bummed me out, especially on my bday. Cool place overall if you are looking to try somewhere new in the Bradenton area. read more

We stopped in close to dinner time and found out the dining room was closed for a few days because of some issue, so no dinner there. They have some 20 or so of their own beers on tap and we tried two of them. All good. Decided to try someplace new and had an average experience. The staff was very friendly, but overall the food we weren't blown away by. The burnt ends hushpuppies brought us in but were rather dry. The carnitas tacos were only saved by the toppings of slaw, pickled red onions, and lime crema. The pork was rather flavorless. The potato salad however was some of the best I've had. They have tons of beer options, so if that's what you're looking for you'll find something you like. Unfortunately, they ran out of cider so I tried the hard seltzer but it was not good. The smell of it was very off putting and the fruit flavors I wish were slightly more sweet and forward vs almost all seltzer flavor. Dog friendly, and mask optional, so those were nice options. My sister and I just finished outlet shopping and opted for a refreshing beverage to wash down our sorrows of spending way too much money. We found this place on yelp and knew we had to go there for the name alone. We walked into a large bar with game tables, a long seated bar, and plenty of table-top seating. It was the middle of the day, but still had about 15 customers inside. We sat at the bar and opted for a flight for me and a pint for my sister. In my flight I got the: Naughty Blonde, Brown Eyed Girl, Naughty Night In, and Some People Call Me Maurice. Loved the Naughty Night In - that may have been my favorite of the evening. All of the beers were quite good and it was just what we needed after a long day of shopping. I'm sorry to report that Naughty Monk has been purchased by another brewery. The whole Naughty Monk theme is going away as are the amazing beers. The A-Typical Kitchen that worked with them is also no longer here. I called to order and learned all this. As I inquired what they had that I could pick up to go in cans or growlers, the person on the phone said "based on your questions, you already called earlier and I have to tend to my customers" and hung up. I have been here a few times. It's a nice place for locals. Today, I stopped in and was completely ignored. There were two bartenders behind the bar. One spent more time BS'ing with customers. Giving them benefit of the doubt but when they both worked the bar and still completely ignored us, I had to leave. Acknowledge your customers at least. I don't expect to be waited on the instance I sit down but I gave them plenty of time to acknowledge us. Decided to leave and went to Inner Compass instead. Much better brewery and we are always at least acknowledged when we walk in. You don't have to be Johnny on the spot but don't completely ignore your patrons because they won't be back. read more

Popped in for a sandwich and a flight. The naughty pulled pork is a really good sandwich! For $10 I think it should come with chips. Fries are an extra $4. The food options are new. When you order food it comes in a little box presentation. This is not an appetizing presentation. This was engineered with the restaurant in kind but not the consumer. Consumers eat with their eyes and being presented with a small cardboard box is not good plating. (Credit 5 years of foodservice marketing experience). The sandwich tasted great but presentation is 0 out of 10 nps. The flight! (I have brewed my own, enjoyed the beat WI had to offer and represented a brewery so I have some perspective.). Wow! What a great happy surprise. Future Visions, triple crown barrel aged, skeletor IPA, Mad Willie, and Four Play Belgian Quad. I really loved them all! I'm not a bourbon drinker but was really impressed with then Triple crown Barrel aged! The Mad Willie was my favorite as I realized with a flight I only had a couple ounces to enjoy and I wanted it to last. So smooth with a definite sweet date profile! Really great! I live near by and have samples flights every few months and this was by far the most impressive mix of great beers! There wasn't a did in the flight (I stayed away from the fruity Florida stuff and American watery choices that are mandatory to appeal to the non-beer connoisseur. Way to go Naughty Monk! I had to come here a few times before I could honestly write a fair review. The owners of the establishment are very nice and they have a goldmine in this brewery as it is the only one in Lakewood Ranch or "out East". They have plenty of beers on tap and they also serve wine and cider. The bartenders are still learning the new beers and their profiles so be prepared to taste test a bunch of stuff. This will change in time as this joint has only been open a few weeks so far. Bottom Line: A great place to drink and sample a plethora of tasty beers. Highly recommended! read more

We had a nice time at the Naughty Monk Brewery in Bradenton. I really love the Mascot of the Brewery which is a monk with a paddle. We ordered a flight of brews which included the Naughty Abbey Ale, Naughty Redhead which was a Red Ale, Naughty 4 Play which was a Belgian Quad, Presidential Honey Ale, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter which was a Porter. I was pretty happy with all our selections. Normally a lot of the Red Ales are too bitter but this one was just right! In addition we tried the Naughty Blonde (my favorite), the Du Mi Dubbel (great name), Mad Willie XXX Belgian Tripel, and Reel Naughty. Our bartender was pretty friendly in helping us pick out beers and with giving us some tasters. A lot of the beers were very strong in the 9% range which was great! In addition to craft beer, this brewery also has 7 types of wines, TV's for watching the lightning game, pool tables, darts, corn hole, and giant Jenga! However, this brewery does not serve food but has no problem letting you bring in food or ordering food to the brewery. This brewey has a chalk board where people can "beer it forward" and buy beer for a friend or random person the bartender chooses in the future. This brewery is larger indoors than most other breweries and felt a bit empty inside because of the largeness to the place and the lack of people here. I'm told this place gets packed in the evenings. Look forward to coming back soon to try more brews! read more

This was my first visit here. They seemed to be fairly busy with about 1/2 capacity. There is bar seating as well as outside. There are regular tables and high tops throughout. There are 20 some beers on tap and almost all are brewed by this brewery. They have partnered with Atypical Kitchen so you can order right off the menu at the brewery. The service was quick and the food was good. As we were leaving there was live music bring set up. Seems like a great place to relax on a Friday evening. read more

Been here a handful of times and it's good. I'm not in love with the selection of beers they have, but it has a lot going for it. Bernadette is a super nice bartender and she always super helpful. They always let you sample beers and they let you bring your own food in which is very nice. You can bring it with you or have it delivered. First time here, and we enjoyed it. Lots of crafted beers (which I don't drink), however, the wines were very nice, not jug wine, and reasonably priced. I had the Hawaiian Pulled Pork with their special corn as my side of choice. Hubby had Carnita Tacos with their special beans as his side. Food was delicious, hot, and fresh. Especially the pulled pork. Service was very good. Only criticism is that the bartenders did not wear masks full-time. The food is served in boxes, not on plates, and you have to 'like' build your own. i.e. like everything is take-out. Don't know if this is traditional, or a safe-guard for COVID. Patrons were spaced appropriately. Lots of TV's, and some electronic games & darts. Ample free parking. Did not use restrooms. Would definitely go back. read more
