We have been here a few times and sadly each time we come it gets less and less appealing to us. We come because we are part of that Tampa Bay Trail Ale group that Brew Life is in their book to get a stamp. We have tried to give it a chance, but it just hasn't hit out personal mark, which is okay and could be a go to place for another person. For us it has a serious lack of energy to keep us there more than a half pour. Hopefully things turn for the better. read more

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and had a couple of beers. They say that they are close to perfecting the IPA. I disagree. I found their beer a little too cloying for my taste. I think they should keep working on the recipe for sure. The atmosphere was pretty stark. The joint was empty. The owners were very nice, however. If we lived in town, we would definitely go back and try all of the beer! Unfortunately we live in another state. But from what we tasted and the nice experience we had, I would recommend giving this place a shot! We are beer geeks, and always try local breweries when we travel. We were pleasantly surprised by this place. (From the outside, it doesn't look like much lol). But it's a nice and artsy spot, and the service was great. I had F-ed Around and Got a Tripple Dubbel and People Like Me. I thought they were both very tasty. I also tried the Big Life Tropical Lager, which was decent. One of the newer breweries in the area, this spot is tucked away in a strip mall in Sarasota about 2 minutes from Calusa. I enjoyed the 2 beers I tried, one was a blackberry cream Berliner, the other was a brown ale (I think) called STFU Dougie. Dougie was sitting at the bar, I was encouraged to tell him to shut up. Yes, this name is a riff on a Lebowski reference. My fiancé had the guava IPA, which he enjoyed. There were many beer styles offered, plus hard seltzer. I'll definitely check this place out again. Flights aren't offered but half-pours are. Bonus features: A pinewood derby track runs the length of one wall. There are multiple video game stations, including vintage favorite Tetris and Guitar Hero. Plenty of seating with a good-sized lot. Sandwiched between Peruvian and Greek restaurants! read more

Let me first say that the only reason I am giving four stars is because they don't serve food. However, the beer is very good! I ordered a flight as shown. I enjoyed all the beers and my favorite which isn't shown, was the Pink Guava 2.0. It was a great double IPA that's fruity, sweet, but packs a 8.5% abv. I definitely recommend giving this place a visit if you enjoy trying new beers. Bartenders were funny, laidback, and pretty chill. read more

Love this place. Visit Sarasota several times a year and spend a lot of time here. The guava ipa is amazing. The guava double ipa even more so when they brew it. The rest of the menu is created with care and thought. Small batches make for very fresh beer. BYOF and there are plenty of food options nearby.
