    8 inch Philly

I'll return for sure. -This is a food truck -Located near all the Fort Worth action (7th street) -Small parking lot, shared with another business. This day, he was opened a little later than usual- 9pm Check instagram /tiktok for accurate location/hours. What we ordered: - Vonte's favorite 8 inch Philly- $13.50. 4.5/5, it was good. The sandwich is wrapped in a plastic liner-- then wrapped in a foil-like paper. I could've done without the plastic dripping in all the cheese/condiments. The fries were trash, honestly. I wish they were those beer battered fries or the curly fries. $3.50 for those. Waste of money, sadly, but lesson learned. The food was done in less than 15 min, if I recall correctly. We did notice that the lady at the window who took our order didn't move to go cook, but rather kept scrolling on her phone-no one else was in the truck. The cook, Vonte I think? Wasn't there when we ordered. He came in 5 or so minutes after to begin cooking. My friend said the woman who took our order was rude. I wasn't paying attention, but if SHE said that--Then I believe it. Anyway- I'll be back for sure. I want another sandwich and I want to try the egg rolls! Check them out.

Best cheesesteak I've ever had. Tons of meat, hot and quick. Decent price for a food truck. I'll be back!

"The Gastro Bomber is serving up traditional pub grub with a Texas twist and the customary pub…read moreculture...good music and friendly conversation!" - From GB's FB page. So yesterday (10/3/2012) Keller had it's first pop-up food truck event. I was very happy to catch wind of it, for I'm usually late to the party when it comes to events. In attendance were Gastro Bomber and So-Cal Tacos (http://www.yelp.com/biz/so-cal-tacos-fort-worth). My plan was to order something from each truck, one as a way to show support, and two, well because I'm a glutton and wanted to try both. I looked over both menus and came to a decision. From GB it was going to be the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. I've been wanting C&Ws forever, from anywhere, and tonight was finally my night to try this item. The first thing to point out is it was not really a "sandwich" unless you want to stretch it and call it an open-faced sandwich. Second, it was not a full-sized waffle, but rather something rectangular. It consisted of three pieces of boneless chicken and a drizzle of maple syrup. Cost, $8. It was very good. The chicken was tender and the waffle delicious. What I noticed, and confirmed, is that there is corn meal in the waffle batter. I was told this is the Southern twist they like to add to there food. It was like Belgian cornbread. Yummy! Now I will add my wife's comment, which seem to be true of all food trucks, is that the cost to quantity ratio seems to be a little high. Three large tenders on essentially half a waffle for 8 bucks seems a bit much. Now I came up with a new take on the cost and that is this; One, your getting to try something new and somewhat unique. Two, and here's the kicker, your bottom line cost is perhaps a bit less than if you sat down in a restaurant. If tips are expected at food trucks, I did not see any obvious vessel for the cash to go in. You can bring your own drinks, and thus your bottom line for a unique dining experience really is not bad. I for one am glad this came together. I was excited when I learned that Keller might be getting it's own food truck park, and was disappointed when I learned the plans were not approved. Somehow I think Keller's loss will be Roanoke's gain (Actually Corina T., aka the "shark lady", who I met at this event said that). From this point forward I will keep track of food trucks coming to Keller, and there are definitely a few more items on GB's menu I would like to try (Irish Nachos, Shepherd's Pie Croquettes, Fish and Chips, Picanha Sandwich). PS. If you missed it, they will be back in the same spot (at the CVS at the NE corner of 1709 and Rufe Snow) next week, 10/10/2012 from 5 to 8PM. One quick tip: Do bring your own chairs!

Absolutely love them.

It's hard for me to step outside of the box sometimes, especially when you've got whack food-allergies. Let me enlighten you on these Churrasco Street Tacos. The tortillas are fresh and not bland, the meat (I've tried both chicken and beef skirt) is seasoned generously and just right, the shredded lettuce is bright and crunchy, and they definitely don't skimp on the cheese! Plus there's a fantastic "keymayo" sauce mixed in; a tangy citrus delight that isn't overpowering but definitely takes these tacos to another level. If you're one of those folks who hates mayonnaise, that's fine, but try not to dismiss everything it's ever in. It's an awesome base for creative accoutrements like Whats Cook-N Chef's keymayo, and I think you'll love it! That sauce is good for more than just tacos, it makes the perfect dip for the homemade fried plantain chips you'll want to order at this food truck. These little wafers of joy are sweet, salty, crispy, and delightfully warm. Ahhh. Dunk them in that cool keymayo and you've got an unbeatable pairing of flavors! I've had the opportunity to meet the head chef of Whats Cook-N Chef, Javier, and he's excited about his business and dedicated to serving authentic Latin cuisine that'll impress your palate. Right now, there are only two items on the menu (besides fried plantains and chips): the Churrasco Street Tacos and Churrasco Sandwiches. Whats Cook-N Chef is keeping it simple, genuine, and absolutely delicious! Keep an eye on their website to see what location they're at, and go try it out ASAP.
