Just popped in for a few items mid morning & it wasn't super busy. It was easy to navigate and find what I needed quickly, making the store visit fast. This is a decent Vons. The place is crowded unless you come super early in the morning or super late in the evening. Parking is never an issue as the location is located in a strip mall. There are several check out stations. This location has a Starbucks inside. The place is kept clean and well stocked for the most part. Customer service is mediocre in my opinion. Furthermore, the pharmacy offers walk ins for vaccinations. However, I highly recommend booking an appointment online in advance to avoid long wait times. All in all, this location does not stand out, but it offers a nice variety of items. read more

I was at the store #2092 at 2048 Avenida LosArboles today. This is now my new favorite MEAT dept all because of JAKE, a man who works in that meat department. He's truly a 'people' person. Never tries to rush me or make me feel like he's too busy (like some others do). I think he might be a manager at MEAT dept at this VONS, not sure but he's helped me several times already. Jake even heard my sad story about my sick dog, every time I ask him for his freshest chicken breasts!! He goes to the back and brings back many all individually wrapped like I ask. Last time he even walked me to the pumkin section to help me find pumkin for my sick dog. JAKE IS TRULY A NICE PERSON, because of him I switched to VONS MEAT dept at this particular store. I am writing about an extremely unsatisfactory experience I had during my last visit to the Vons store located at 2048 Avenida De Las Arbolas, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 at 4:06 PM PST. I had a digital coupon linked to my phone number which was applied to my purchase. However, the cashier Erick insisted in a rude and unprofessional manner that I dig through the app to prove the coupon's existence. While I understand the desire to verify discounts, his hostile approach was unwarranted and provoked me. I did not want to cause a scene so I opted not to search through my phone, but Erick's behavior was unacceptable for an employee in a customer service role. Requiring customers to re-validate discounts already applied to their accounts is an inconvenience especially with the poor navigation experience of the app which is a complete waste of everybodies time in a busy store. But the bigger issue here was the cashier's poor attitude and lack of courtesy. I hope you will look into additional customer service training for your employees. I aim to shop at Vons again soon, but want to be sure issues like these are addressed first. Please let me know if there is anything further you need, and thank you for your time. read more

Gonna rate things separately to be fair... Deli - This Vons makes awesome deli sandwich trays and fruit trays. We've gotten their sandwiches for several parties, and they never disappoint. And they're always ready on time. Produce - Vons consistently has the best cut fruit trays for the best value, and I've wondered why I go anywhere else when getting fruit for a party. They all look and taste amazing. Bakery - They make delicious cakes, and the cakes with printed designs always look so good. Minus one star because sometimes they miss the mark if you don't give explicit instructions. Bought a ready made cake, and they wrote Happy Birthday in yellow of all colors, without asking what color I wanted. Ordered their "celebration" cake without being specific and got pastel sprinkles instead of primary colors, and it's looked more like a baby shower cake than a birthday cake. Overall, though, good experience with cakes here. Tortilla chips - Their in-house made chips are BOMB. Just be sure to check the dates on the bag and get the freshest ones. They also sell the Juantonio's brand, which is one of the best chip brands next to freshly made chips. Sushi - my daughter loves the deluxe sushi rolls and assortments, and a quick run to Vons often saves us from an expensive trip to a sushi restaurant. After all those highlights, I don't feel like listing the cons, but there is one that can't be overlooked. More than once I've been there with a big order that the cashier is struggling to ring up and bag simultaneously while a bagger is standing on another aisle staring off into space, staring at a pretty girl, or chatting with a friend. They could use a little training on scanning all the lanes to see where they can be helpful. read more

I shop here once a week because the location is convenient. Nearly EVERY time I get overcharged for something I buy. My habit now is that immediately after getting my receipt I review it thoroughly before leaving so I can stop at the customer service counter to get it corrected before I leave. Make sure you check your receipts here or you will not get all the sale prices listed. Also, be ready to bag your own groceries and recieve unfriendly service. Maybe the worst Vons I've been to despite the decent location. I had some trouble finding a specific salad dressing and asked for help from a store employee. I got bounced around between a few employees who walked me around the store twice. It was clear they had no idea where the item I was looking for was located. Very frustrating. Once I was done shopping about $200 in groceries, I stood in line at the cashier checkout and when it was my turn to checkout, the cashier just stood there and didn't bag any of my items. When I asked if there was anyone to help bag she made a snarky comment that I should just bag the groceries. I wish I had remembered her name but at the time I was so flustered I actually bagged everything myself and walked out. Never again, Vons. read more

This review is for the sushi bar. I don't know what the hell is in their California rolls but it looks like pink slime. I purchased a tray and had to ask for chopsticks. When I opened my tray, the rolls were the thinnest I'd ever seen, not sure how they could even slice them that thin. No soy sauce in tray and ONE, I repeat, one slice of ginger. TEN dollars for this sorry excuse for sushi. Never again. I will go to Stater Bros in Simi Valley-now they have good sushi on the go and the lady behind the counter is so nice! read more

There are three times: 1- the cashier ignored me and my transaction to flirt with teenage girls behind me 2- the SAME cashier came up behind me and my daughter, put his hands on our shoulders, and said "group hug" 3- on a Saturday morning, only one checker was open- there was an employee in line in front of me talking to a patron. It was obvious the patron knew the staff (the checker and the person behind him - in front of me). Another checker opened her register, she looked at me and said "I'll take you here.". I had my 13 year old daughter waiting for me in the car. The employee in front of me jumped in that other line and said "I was in line first" and the patron was "teasing" the cashier saying very loudly "why didn't you open for me?". This store is a disaster. It's too crowded with displays and in disarray. Shelves frequently look like they've been pillaged in preparation for a hurricane... employees stocking shelves and produce treat customers like they're an inconvenience, refuse to give way... sullen and unhelpful. We placed an order in advance through the app to be picked up. One of the bags contained raw chicken - upon opening the bag, we see that there's a pool of liquid at the bottom of the bag and the chicken container is slimy to the touch - there was a GIANT HOLE in the packaging, and the store had plastic wrapped around it to try and hide the hole. This was still several days before the sell-by date and the smell was so rotten that we were gagging. The plastic wrap around the hole makes it clear to me that the store knew that this raw meat was compromised and attempted to hide it in order to sell to customers. You know how confusing digital coupons and just for you promotions can be? My cashier's Sean was able to explain how promotions work to an elderly gentleman in front of me. He was so patient and made sure that the gentleman understood all he has to do is enter his phone number now. I had a bunch of stuff and Sean was able to catch the fact that one of the sodas hadn't run up and I wasn't getting three for free on my bill. How he caught this in the long list of discounts that I have I'll never know. It's nice to know that you can depend on an employees to know their current sales and what to look for when ringing up their customers. He should be promoted because he knows his stuff! read more

I would avoid this Vons location at all costs Flooring is not even flooring. It is very uneven concrete. It is an eyesore and a tripping hazard. Looks like you're in a Third World country. I would definitely choose Stater Brothers in Simi Valley for a better shopping experience. read more

I pre-ordered a birthday cake and told the bakery exactly what I wanted. The request was for a hamburger designed cake. I didn't expect the cake to come out so amazing. The bakery went above and beyond what I imagined. The cake was the hit of the party. Nobody could believe it was from Vons. It was delicious too! The employees at Starbucks inside Vons are phenomenal. Alicia is one of my favorites. She is always pleasant and has a great personality.

Beware of the blonde lady at the cash register who always accidentally charges double. It has happened to me multiple times. I made sure to check before stepping out of the store today and noticed she charged me double for an item. I saw her at the guest service and she's on the phone. I kindly waited for her to finish but she kept pointing at the closed sign that was in front of her. Obviously I can read that and just needed to talk to her...so I interrupted her and asked if we should get back in line for the register. She then signals me to be quiet. I look over at my friend and we both give her a confused look as her attitude towards me was completely unexpected and rude. She later apologized for that and gave us a refund. read more

Came in 4x now for doordash pickups and they really like to take their time to get your order ready. It's usually a casual 30-40 late after scheduled pickup. I'm stunned with how amazingly inefficient they are after all this time. I'm definitely not accepting anymore Vons doordash orders. read more

I normally love coming to this Vons, the employees recognize me, we joke as I'm checking out or getting stuff from the butcher. The people who work here are wonderful. However, in light of current events, I simply do not understand why there is no enforcement of the mask requirement. I see people all the time in there without masks on, and completely disregarding social distancing. This specific location is down the street from my house so it is a quick drive for groceries. It is located in Thousand Oaks, CA not Selma. I want to specifically focus on their holiday meals so people like me can be forewarned. My mom ordered the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, dessert, gravy, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. Turns out all the sides are just from their pre packed deli section you can get at any time. 1. The turkey was cooked, frozen, and thawed by Vons then heated (per the instructions) in our oven. We added a little more salt, pepper, and butter on the outside. After the recommended cook time, I noticed the outside had strange fatty looking pieces and when cut into it was very dry and had ZERO flavor. 2. The mashed potatoes were so runny and gritty. Impossible to fix and therefore gross. 3. Gravy...meh. 4. Cranberry sauce was below average. 5. Where was our dessert?! They forgot to put it in so we got nothing. 6. The stuffing was very dry and was not appetizing so we just made boxed Stouffers. Yikes...all this for $70? Unfortunately an absolute waste of money because everything was inedible. read more

I can't stand this store. Complained so many times. Now covid times and it's worse, but still earns a 1 star or less. I have told the customer service department 2 times that their "sanitary/cleaning person", cleaning carts in front wears his mask so his nose isn't covered. From a sanitizer person???? Unacceptable. I am also tired of the line inside where whomever is in charge of managing the check out line seems to think it's ok to let people cut because they only have a few items, when there are people waiting in the line, way past the deli, who only have a few items. They also let people cut when they want to use self check out when I have heard them tell others that they have to wait in the same long line, and wait to be called to use self check out. I have been using Ralph's on Moorpark Road and am happy with them. Only ran into Vons because it is close and I was in a pinch. Big mistake!!!! read more

I don't know why people are being so uptight on the reviews here. Vons can do there best to make sure everyone is wearing a mask, but they can't be superhumans. They cannot possibly see if EVERYONE is wearing one. The management clearly doesn't take our safety seriously. A vendor blew me off when I asked him (nicely, I believe) to pull his mask over his nose, so I told the manager. By the time she reached him, he'd apparently fixed it. The manager's comment to me was that if she didn't see a vendor not covering his face properly there was nothing she could do about it. Really? That's like not doing anything about a report of sexual assault unless someone sees it. On my way out of the store, I saw two other vendors strolling casually down the aisle with their masks pulled under their noses. Box people need serious training! They have no respect for our very expensive groceries. Pumpkin pie on its side! Really? As well wouldn't packing all the frozen fruit in one plastic bag (which we provide) make more sense rather than having them in different bags wetting all the boxed items. This is the worst Vons I've ever been to in my entire life. The managers are rude, not helpful, and disrespectful to old people. They are unorganized and it is obvious they don't want to be there.
