If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This place led me to quit my previous job and accept a contract position at IKEA. However, during the process, both members of the customer service team, who were middle-aged women, racially profiled me. I had been waiting for over a month to start this position. The first recruiter I spoke with, Rebecca, assisted me with the onboarding process on June 21. After waiting for 5-7 business days to start, I contacted Rebecca because she had not provided me with the details by the end of the following day. She then began to lie, claiming that there was something on my record from a state I have never lived in. I confronted them, stating that they were racially profiling me because of my race. I also informed Rebecca that I had already reviewed the background check report, which came back clear. Subsequently, Rebecca stopped responding to my calls and texts.
The following week, on July 10, I spoke with Isabella from VOLT, who called me with a status update. Unfortunately, I missed her call, but she left a voicemail stating that my background check had cleared, and I was ready to start. She only needed to speak with the client to determine if I could start on either Friday or Monday. I found it highly unusual that they would assure me that everything was completed but once again lie about my start date. Furthermore, they falsely claimed that my background check was still pending for Illinois, which would cause a delay of an additional 7-10 business days.
In addition to these issues, Isabella made an offensive and racist remark by using a racial slur when following up with me. This behavior is completely unacceptable and inappropriate. read more
