    I took my 2019 VW Golf in for 20,000-mile servicing. I average about 5,000 miles a year, which means I don't drive it much, but I want to keep up on maintenance. The service included the usual oil change, air filter, etc. I also wanted the air conditioner serviced as I am new to the area, which is very dusty. About a month after the service, I noticed a little bump on the hood. After a close inspection, someone left a tool on the engine and closed the hood. I waited for my in-law to look at it, and he came to the same conclusion. I opened the hood, but there wasn't anything on the engine. I called VW of Bakersfield, and the person I spoke with said he would have someone call me back. A few weeks passed, and I called again and was told someone would call me back. This time, a manager did return my call. I explained the situation, and he said that because 30 days had elapsed, he could do nothing. I contacted the BBB and explained the issue. I provided a picture of the protrusion. I asked if VW had spoken with the mechanic who performed the maintenance. VW responded with: "The client brought their car in for 20,000 mile service on July 10 2024. The client then calls back 58 days later and states we damage on the hood of their car if we had damaged the hood on their vehicle they would have noticed it within a day or two at most NOT 58 days later. if client would have called back in 1-3 days we would have addressed this concern the client did not call for 58 days , if we damaged the hood, they would have noticed the damaged long before 58 days Jason Doyle Fixed Operations Director As I mentioned, I only drive my car sometimes, so the damage wasn't immediately noticed. Now, if anyone knows what tools are used to perform the maintenance (oil, air filter, and air conditioner), I can determine what tool was left on my hood.

    Parts department too slow, I have been waiting for 10 minutes and nobody has showed up, the girl at the cashier notified them that someone was eating and still nobody has showed up, not only the service part is a headache but also to get a part is a headache, I love VW vehicles I had a lot of them are very reliable but since Mr. Arredondo died the dealer has been a disappointment every single time, unfortunately is the only dealer in town

    If I could give no stars I definitely would. As soon as we got on the lot they were wanting financial information to run it. I hadnt even seen the truck in person yet. They put an associate, Raven, with us and she knew nothing about it. She sat in the backseat and read the information directly from the website. Then sales manager Aaron lied about the vehicle. It was posted for $23K but after I drove it and said I was interested he said the catalytic converter was stolen the night before and the listed price reflected the missing converter. The price had not been changed and did not reflect the missing catalytic, nor was it listed as is. He said no worries that he would take care of us as returning customers of Family Motors and we are all family so no worries, hes got our best interest. He said he wanted to continue the professional relationship but you don't start out a professional relationship on lies. They are not Family Motors and haven't been for a few years. Then when talking price he told us I would need to purchase a catalytic converter to be replaced which drove the cost up. The price had not been lowered as he first stated, it was just an opportunity for him to make a bigger commission. He said or I could have it replaced after the purchase on my own. It is against the law for a dealership to sell a vehicle without a catalytic converter, its against EPA regulations. He argued that it already passed smog, but CA law states that it must be able to pass smog as soon as the vehicle leaves the lot. He was clearly pissed when I told him as he walked away and came back with a "deal" on the replacement catalytic. Again, it said nowhere on the dealer website that the catalytic was missing. It also listed all the specs and included options already installed, but it actually didnt have many of them. It was as if they copy and pasted the information from another similar vehicle. It was like a ploy to get you in the dealership just to be hounded to sign so they could get rid of it. I couldn't even count how many times they told us they had quotas to meet and they are commission based sales, especially Aaron. Aaron took a backseat to the sale by allowing other inexperienced associates try to close the deal, but definitely wanted his name on it for the commission. It is very unprofessional to pass along their quota need to the customer and telling me numerous times that they are commission based. I don't like being hounded by several employees when trying to make a decision. Especially for a $26K decision. I planned on working only with Aaron because I don't like all the back and forth, it should be cut and dry with all information presented accurately and honestly with him seeing the entire sale. Long story short, it was too good to be true. The truck was not as listed and it pissed him off when I printed out the information and questioned him about the specs. He had no answer except " I don't know", " I'll look into it", and " the price reflects whats missing". Again, not as advertised and not listed "as is". Over the course of 3 days there were 6 different associates that I dealt with and all of them were pushy for us to just sign. They called and messaged me nonstop trying to instill fear of missing out so I would just sign. I decided I wanted the truck and started the process only for Aaron and Maria in finance to drop the ball. I gave all the requested financial information and left a $500 deposit just for them to run it then ignore our calls and texts. Maria called me from her personal phone and said she would work on it then ignored my messages. When we finally got ahold of her the next day she said she was busy with customers the night before. I was also a customer and I was waiting to hear from them on the deal. Basically they didn't care about our business or as Aaron said "family" as they left us hanging and lost the deal. I never heard back from Aaron or Maria even after calling the main line, his phone and her phone and leaving messages for both. He lied, they lied, and they are not to be trusted. And to top it off I still have not received my $500 deposit back. They ignore the calls and have the inexperienced associates take a message.
