The worse experience of my life Be very careful when buying or considering buying a used vehicle from Bill Write Toyota. Don't be another victim! The vehicle I bought is defective and has many problems. It's a nightmare! And the worst part is that they make promises they never keep. There's absolutely no transparency! And it seems that if those running this business aren't capable of solving problems, what will the others be like? The vehicle has already left me stranded on the street three times. I've spent over $1300 out of my own pocket and haven't been able to fix it. The vehicle has transmission problems, the disc brakes don't work, the TRD is damaged, and it's illegal to sell a vehicle like this. The transmission fluid is contaminated, the brake fluid is contaminated (this was the only thing the dealer changed). Everything else is useless. And I'm losing thousands of dollars. I hope you're not the next victim. I call and leave messages, but they don't answer my calls. I've been to the dealer more than 6 times and the only thing they corrected was the brake fluid change. Today, March 25, 2026, I was informed that they would refund my money, but that they would not reimburse me for any of the funds I had spent on repairs and maintenance for the vehicle. I have purchased no fewer than 14 vehicles--both new and used--from this dealership. There is absolutely no transparency left, and not only that, but they also informed me that they would no longer sell me any vehicles--despite knowing full well that the vehicle I purchased suffers from numerous serious defects. This dealership should be investigated for endangering human lives by selling vehicles with such serious flaws--defects that could potentially lead to a fatal accident. Bill Wright Toyota should change its policy regarding used vehicles--specifically, it needs to thoroughly inspect its used cars before selling them to the public. I have been using these people for decades. I do not make service appointments, and always expect a reasonable wait. Yesterday, I got in the non-appt lane. there was one car in front of me. I was not told a wait time from my rep. estarella but overheard her cube mate tell the guy that was in front of me in line it would be 2-21/2 hour. I patiently waited 2 hours and 20 minutes, before I asked about the progress. Snotty response, "your car is in the queue and has not even been evaluated yet" FYI - Oil change and tire rotation!! I spoke to the on site manager - didn't get his name - His response... She should have told you it would be way longer since you didn't have an appointment!!. My first and last time buying a vehicle from Bill Wright Toyota. As a local Veteran, I told the dealer I wanted to purchase my daughter's first car from a local dealership that is known for supporting local Veterans and I was referred to Bill Wright by a well-respected local Veterans non-profit. Upon purchasing the car had an airbag fault which left my daughter without her car for a week. Then a week later the air conditioner on the passenger side quit working. Two months later we discover the oil is extremely low, there's metal in the oil, and the piston rings are fried. Now the car is going to need a new engine. The car was purchased as-is with no warranty. Good Job Bill Wright! You got me good. I thought I was buying from a reputable dealer that I can trust. Lesson learned. We ended up getting financed under the Toyota dealership, and not one of the many banks they work with, Our APR was super low. Monthly payments where fair, Plus all the bells and whistles that came along with it too, like road side assistance, tire & wheel assistance, 100,000 mile warranty, gap insurance, free car service for 4 years, plus a lot of other really awesome perks! We got to meet Kal too, he was the finance manager and was the one who finalized the deal and paperwork with us, he too was easy to talk to, funny and very professional. The whole process with him went super smooth and the entire process all together took only a few hours ... They really made us feel like family here!! We couldn't have been more reassured and confident in such a major decision and process like this! Jose even took the time to sit in our car with us to teach us about the different features and buttons in the car too. . . We were blown away from all the technology! This car dealership is complete garbage! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM! They illegally sold me a illegally modified 2020 Subaru WRX STI with 45,000 miles and a aftermarket bumper to bumper and full power train warranty for $23,000. After purchasing the vehicle the manual transmission clutch went out after 5,000 Miles after contacting the dealership. I was told that a new clutch is not covered under my warranty because its considered a ware and tare item. So I had to personally replace my clutch myself out of pocket. After replacing the clutch I drove the car another 2,000 Miles when suddenly I had complete engine mechanical failure and had to pay $500 to tow the car home. after contacting bill wright Toyota I was told to have my car towed to their dealership/auto shop For a inspection. Then a week later I get a nice phone call informing me that my car will not be covered under my aftermarket warranty and that I will have to pay for all repairs completely out of pocket! So I decided to say screw it and took my car directly to Subaru of America because my car was still covered under the stock manufacturers warranty of 60,000 and my car was currently at 57,000 miles. After 1 to 2 weeks later I got another phone call from Subaru informing me that my vehicle repairs will not be covered under the stock manufacturers warranty due to the car being illegally modified and tuned and that I will be responsible for the full repair amount of $30,000 for a new engine! I would also be responsible for the full diagnosis fee of $3,000 in order to get my car back in my possession. My response to that was I'm not paying $30,000 for new engine in a car that cost me $23,000 especially when I can buy the same car new and not used with 45,000 miles on it for $30,000 so after everything was said and done I was forced to default on my car and now I currently have a outstanding debt of $30,000 that I will not pay! read more

Their price was $4,000 above the other offer. I showed the salesman the other dealership's offer, he said he would take it to his sales manager. He came back with another lower offer, but still $1,500 more than Puenta Hills Toyota. They did not want to make a deal. I recently took my wife's Camry to get serviced, after paying triple the price anywhere else would've charged me (my fault for getting service done at a dealership) they give me back a list of 15 things that were wrong with my car basically indicating that it was about to fall apart any moment now. Everything on the list had totaled to about $3000 in repairs so obviously I wasn't going to get it done there. Bill Wright Toyota is a den of jerks that take advantage of the people that depend on others to know what they are doing when it comes to all aspects of vehicle ownership. Crooks. I tried to purchase a car from them, no joy and was forced to go elsewhere. Wife picked up a nail an inch of center in the tread. On the phone they said the tire is covered for repair so she took it to them. Four days later the tire is flat and upon inspection they never pulled the nail. This time I went with her to find the point of communication breakdown. After several HOURS she was told that the tire was not reparable because the nail was too close to the sidewall and they wanted to sell he a mis matched tire for her new car. Yeah right these guys are crooks and this is only one example. I have more but whats the use these guys are pathetic. I just went over to America's Tire Store and they repaired the tire the correct way patched from inside. She was in and out in 30 minutes and because I purchase my tires from these guys over the years, they did it for free with a smile on their face. This was a blatant attempt at skullduggery! And furthermore the vehicle we brought in we had to purchase from another dealership and this is why. I purchased a 2011 Camry XLE 3.5 from Bill Wright Toyota. The purchase went smoothly. The trans just suddenly went away at 187,000 miles, so I went looking for my next Toyota. After doing my due diligence I went to Bill Wright Toyota to look at a 2024 RAV4. My wife and I enter the showroom where a red Corolla was front and center and there were a couple of guys standing around talking to each other. One looks over and says, sorry everybody's at a meeting, what are you looking for? I said we're interested in a RAV4. Okay. There are four out there on the lot if you want to walk out there and take a look. We said okay and walked out to where the cars were located. We were trying to see inside but the doors were locked and the tint and all, so after a couple of minutes I told the wife "Let's go". As we walked back to our truck a man in his fifties came out of the side door near the old service entrance and says hey I thought you wanted to see a car! His cigarette half gone and looking somewhat unkempt. We just said no thanks and left. This is not good. read more

Bought a 4Runner TRD in May 2024 from a different Toyota dealership because they couldn't beat the price. Went to Bill Wright this weekend to look at purchasing a loaded Tacoma and met one of the sales reps, NICK PEREZ, this guy has to be one of the pushiest/sleeziest sales reps, the kind that comes to mind when you think about a car salesman. I am a physician and have bought many vehicles, this was one of the worst salesmen I have dealt with, he started with going on and on about leaving a $500 deposit to put a hold on an incoming vehicle I hadn't even seen, which I did, he never gave me a receipt for the deposit. The final straw was when we were leaving, after I had already left a $500 deposit in the vehicle, was when I asked for the spec sheet and the interest rate/payment options we had just discussed he asks "why, so you can go shop around some more." I walked out with any paperwork on a $55,000 vehicle I was trying to buy. After that interaction, I went to the Chevrolet dealership and bought a new Colorado Z2 (which actually beat Tacoma in a head-to-head match up in Motor Trends). My wife went back to Bill Wright to get our deposit back, they then said everyone was gone that could process it but they would make a note for the people that process and that I could check back on Wednesday (it was Saturday) and see if it was processed. If you are shipping for a vehicle in Bakersfield and specifically a Toyota, avoid Bill Wright and go out of town, especially avoid Nick Perez if you don't want a miserable shopping experience. read more

I worked with Shane, Eric, Brittney, and Eduardo and everyone was amazing. Shane was very responsive to my initial email of looking for the RAV4 and directing me over to Eric who was able to order the car I was looking for. He was very responsive and communicated well through email which was my preferred communication method. When it came time to go to the dealership to pick up my car, Brittney was the one who helped me and she was also fantastic. She was helpful with all my questions and didn't seem annoyed that I wanted to test, drive the car and have my husband test drive the car before purchasing. Then, when I went to financing Eduardo Was very straightforward in regards to how much things would cost and was not pushy with the extended warranty. In fact, I didn't feel like anyone I dealt with was overly pushy or trying to oversell me on something I didn't want. I appreciate that the dealership honored the quote they originally gave me since I've been to some other dealerships in Bakersfield to try to change the quote after I arrive. I drove 3 1/2 hours to purchase my car here, and if I want to purchase another Toyota I would absolutely consider driving all the way to Bakersfield again to purchase from this dealership. I dealt with Alonzo C. he was amazing. Him and his manager Sammy worked a miracle for me and got me into my own car. I have credit but i have too much credit so i wasn't qualifying on my own, they tried everything they could. I had to get a cosigner and they made it happen. This is the second car i have dealt with Alonzo on, and both times he has been a class act. Alonzo and Sammy are great, the finance person (can't remember his name, sorry) was great as well. I'm a senior citizen so I have bought many new cars over the years. I've had good experiences and bad experiences but this was the best I've ever had. I live 120 miles away but Priuses are very hard to find right now. My research showed they had one on the way, so I called Paul Brown, the sales manager. Our price negotiation was simple and straightforward and we quickly agreed on a price that was essentially MSRP. (A lot of dealers are demanding more than that due to the scarcity of Priuses). He then turned me over to Brittney to work out all the details. She was absolutely amazing. She worked out the out the door price which was exactly what I anticipated based on the price Paul and I had agreed on. Now the best part. I explained to her that, since I would have a 5 hour round trip, I would like to have all the paperwork filled out in advance so I could just sign, give them a cashiers check and drive home. She called me back a few minutes later and offered to drive the car to me with the paperwork to sign at my house!! I never expected that but I quickly accepted her offer. A week later, the car arrived at Bill Wright Toyota and the next day she delivered it to me and spent the time to get our cell phones linked to the car. This post is overdue.... I wanted to trade my 2020 Corolla for a 2022 Toyota Camry. I went into the main office to reserve the hybrid Camry I wanted. Since new cars are in high demand, the wait could be a while and the price was quoted at 2K more than the asking price. I still wanted the car so I put 500.00 down to reserve the car. The reason why I chose to purchase a Toyota Camry hybrid over the competitors was that I heard they were one of the best and the cars hold their value. With these hybrid vehicles, you do not have to physically charge the battery, as it will charge itself through driving. Toyota cars will last you a great while if you take care of them and keep up with the maintenance. Fast track to 3 Months later, the car I wanted finally came in. My car salesman, who I met here was Alonzo Carrera. He took care of me through the whole process, from placing a reserve, to finding the car I wanted, my trade-in, and purchase. This was the smoothest car purchase I had ever been through. I was highly satisfied. Toyota care is awesome as well! The service center is also great. One of the best I've been to. Kudos to Alonzo.
