So grateful for his service. 2. In a non-emergency, Danny came through with a game plan and a quote to replace our aging water heater. Scheduled the next day, he texted to give us a heads up of when to be home, and then took care of our old water heater and hooked us up with a brand new 10 year unit. Such a pleasure to work with. 3. In every touchpoint, he came through not only with skill, expertise and experience, but he educated us on how the process would go and what to expect. Peace of mind. Super efficient. Wonderful service. Great guy. Highly recommend!

All previous owners went down to the basement to do laundry. I tried 5 different plumbers and Daniel Wright was the only one who agreed to plumb in a ventless dual unit for a reasonable price. He did an outstanding job very efficiently. I have used him for so many other things, including installing a new water heater, and a range of other major and minor fixes. He is always responsive, prompt, cheerful, extremely knowledgable and his prices are very fair. I've owned many homes in my life, in many places, and have worked with other plumbers in this area. I know I found my North Shore plumber and am very happy to recommend Danny unreservedly.

I've used McLaughlin Company twice. The first time, was to upgrade our heating system, which dated…read moreback to when our house was built in 1955. He installed an incredibly great system, which replaced not only our old furnace, but our hot water heater as well. The system is the Triangle Tube Prestige system (likely updated since then). Not only is it was of the best and most efficient heating and hot water systems, but his price and service were equally great. Once installed, our gas bill dropped by 50%, and we NEVER run out of hot water. The system can handle the shower, washing machine, and at least one sink all at the same time. Great recommendaton Bob! His crew was very meticulous in their work, and Bob (the owner) is honest, trustworthy and gives fair assessments of whatever work you need. Quality work is their marquee! He was so good we had him back a couple years later when we needed some other work done. One of the supports for the pipe that feeds our two bedrooms came loose, where it runs through the lower level through the under house garage. We also needed a water outlet in our kitchen sink to run our water filter. They were prompt in returning our call and setting up the appointment, showed up on time, and did great work. I've had to call him with some questions, and once a minor issue, which he told me how to fix over the phone. His service after the fact is outstanding and he's always get back to you if you call with a question. I recommend this company for it integrity, quality work, and outstanding ethics. The price is comparable with most plumbers, and better than a lot of others we checked out.

Once the guy came with an apprentice from the local vocational high school and I really really liked that. Prices are higher than the local guy, but they will always answer the phone and always be able to fit me in, and worth it. Good value and service for the cost.

He told me "no I will make you whole, no charge, don't worry about it." About 2 months later, he had a falling out with my contractor about payments and threatened me with a lien if I did not pay (illegal). When he realized he's not a lawyer and couldn't do that, he then sent a bill for the work he assured me he would do for free. Would not return calls or emails and deferred everything to his poor secretary who had nothing to do with the situation. Pathetic. Don't hire them. A call back would be nice John.

John also clearly knows what he's doing, but as the business owner, seemed rushed to get in and out and I don't think his work was as refined as Mike's. My biggest issue with them is their office staff. They do not return phone calls or emails, no matter how urgent or what the subject is. It took me about 10-12 phone calls just to pay them. Unfortunately, about a week after the project finished, we started having issues, most notably a leaking dishwasher and frozen pipes. Despite several calls, I never heard back from them. I fixed these issues myself, but considering I paid a lot of money for their services, I wasn't happy about this. I also worry about other quality issues propagating. Price seemed high, but my GC insisted on them. Getting them on the schedule was difficult and we saw project delays as a result.

We're a small collective that shares stories from freelance and contract workers who've been…read moretreated unfairly. This is one of those stories. A contractor was hired by this company to build a fully functional website on a rushed timeline. They were told they were the only person working on the project, and that the urgency was due to the company's former developer being in a legal dispute and planning to take down the live site by June 1st, 2025. The contractor dropped everything to help and finished the site two weeks before the deadline. Over the course of several weeks, the contractor even went to their office multiple times for meetings with the owner's son and other team members, working in good faith to move the project forward. After the work was done, it came to light that two or three other people were also working on the same site, despite the company claiming otherwise from the start. When the contractor followed up for payment, the owner's son who was the main point of contact allegedly said "My boy could do it for less than $1,000, so our initial agreement on price is gonna be a lot less now." He also added he was going on vacation in 15 days and "didn't have time to deal with it." All this while wearing an expensive Rolex. The contractor was told, "Send me the invoice I'll pay you for your time." The invoice was sent immediately, and the son followed up once more saying, "I'll get back to you." After that, he went completely silent no reply, no payment. The contractor was left dismissed and disrespected. The stress and anxiety from this on top of an existing heart condition led to serious mental and physical strain. Legal steps have since been taken. This post is meant to warn others if you're a freelancer, contractor, or subcontractor, be cautious. Get everything in writing, and don't ignore red flags. No one should be pressured, misled, ghosted, or lowballed after showing up, putting in the time, and delivering their end of the deal.
