Staff was friendly but no one greets you when you walk in. All tables were full when we got there…read moreso we just sat down in the waiting area, wait staff just asked who was next when a table came up cleaned. They seemed like they wanted to rush us and definitely understaffed. A table actually walked out and canceled their order while we were there as they said it was as terrible diner not ugly. They just didn't get a good vibe and I agree with it. Waiter was super nice though and doing his best. Food was good. Not sure if I'll go back or not. I think their prices are right. Lunch menu looks good. Just hung up on trying again.

Some friends recommended it so we stopped by while in the area. We had a slight wait since there aren't many tables, which wasn't a problem. I ordered the veggie omelette which comes with the home potatoes. It was wonderful. Personally, I think it could have used a bit of cracked pepper mixed in with the veggies but still great. My husband ordered the peach cobbler French toast which was good too. We got there a little later, as they close at noon. So they were sold out of the regular French toast bread. They offered it with wheat bread instead, which worked out well too. There was one lady managing all the tables who was very efficient. We will be back the next time we are in the area. I would recommend arriving by mid morning since they close at 12pm. If you are in the area, don't miss going to The Ugly Diner.

Sophia and I ordered takeout from New Orleans Hamburgers and Seafood for lunch when we landed in…read morethe Westbank after the trek from Virginia. This has been a go-to for us for years every time we came home. And we were very hungry of course so let's see how things went. Once we unpacked and rested for a bit, we went online to check out their menu. For our orders, we usually selected their seafood platters which are reasonably priced. Their drive-thru system is pretty good for pickup orders which can get backed up once in a while. But no worries here for us. My selection was the any two choices platter which were thin fried catfish and soft shell crab. Everything was good and well seasoned. The only setback was they didn't have enough fries in the box. Normally, their to-go orders would have plentiful fries or other sides to your liking. But not this one. Other than that, I was full with my order. We'll continue to use New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood the next time we come home :)

We were looking for breakfast away from the French Quarter and all of the parades and Mardi Gras…read morecelebrations. So we went outside of the city and located this place for breakfast that turned into lunch. I wanted to try the King Cake daiquiri but it wasn't frozen enough and what they let me sample tasted terrible. I ordered the two meats or proteins plate with the garlic butter fries and slaw. My two proteins were the thick fried catfish and fried frog legs. Also, the plate comes with two hush puppies. I also got the fried green tomatoes. The fish was fresh and frog legs were fresh and the fried tomatoes were fresh the slaw and hush puppies were crispy and fresh. The service was kind and professional. Service was not long there was confusion one side of restaurant was sit down and the servers take your orders. The other side was place your order at the counter and get a seat/table and the server brings the food to the table. There restaurateurs seemed like family and friends and longtime patrons. We got fountain drinks (sweet tea, soda, water). I recommend if not use to butter garlic fries get it on the side. It was ok for me but my friends didn't like it. It tastes like onion sour cream potato chips.
