HORRIBLE. This airline is by far the worst I have ever flown with. Their fares are not cheap, and the baggage fees are outrageous. I was charged $85 for a carry-on and $115 for a medium-sized checked bag that weighed less than 45 lbs. Traveling with my family ended up costing us a significant amount in luggage fees alone. The only reason I booked with this airline was because they offered a direct flight from Aguascalientes to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the convenience was not worth the experience. The customer service was awful. The flight attendants were rude, unprofessional, and appeared poorly trained. As a frequent traveler, I have never experienced such poor service. They even charge for water onboard. To make matters worse, the aircraft smelled like urine throughout the flight. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant travel experiences I have ever had. I will never fly with this airline again. I would rather take a bus than endure another flight with them. read more

A scam of an airline that you should avoid at absolutely all costs. It's actually so much a scam that my credit card IMMEDIATELY reimbursed me for one of their charges. I fought on the phone with what I thought was Volaris for a refund and paid $200 just to back out of my flight. Then got an email receipt after that call from a janky scam business called PCM Travels. Google it. It's a third party business posing as Volaris to rip people off. They're obviously working with Volaris, because I got my flight reimbursed by Volaris, but got charged $200 by this other group. Two customer service numbers on the official Volaris website later were either disconnected or were run by people who would hang up on me when I asked about Volaris. When I called the number attached, this woman kept asking me for personal information and then passed me along to a man who said, "I can't help you, this is a travel agency" and hung up on me. The only good reviews are completely fake. How sad. Worst company ever. We bought our tickets in advance through Volaris directly. After two hours on the phone with THEIR REPRESENTATIVE he said we were complete with everything we needed. On our return flight we were put on standby because "we did not purchase seats" with our original order. Their representative was well aware that we are flying with kids and need to sit close to them. He had us choose our seats. At no time were we told anything about needing to choose seats further. Now we are stuck in Mexico for eight hours with our kids. They offered us 60$ in food voucher and 80$ off our next flight. I absolutely hate this airline. No one has apologized for the inconvenience or taken any accountability. At baggage claim the rep said "oh customer service did that to make the tickets cheaper and they could make the sale." Deeply flawed system. I absolutely hate this airline. I posted my disappointment on Instagram and Volaris actually reached out! I was hopeful for a moment only to find out I'm talking to a bunch of bots. read more

Never purchase and fly with this airlines. We have used them several time, but if you have a change GOOD LUCK!!!!! Even if you buy a ticket with a complete refund, you will still be charged a fee if you need to make a change. By the way good luck trying to get a person to talk too!! I know customer service has gone downhill lately, but Volaris airlines takes this to a different level!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVER EVER!!!!!! read more

Just an absolute nightmare to deal with, they do not have a direct line to customer service. You have to download WhatsApp in order to text (not speak) to a CSR. Even then they are difficult to get a hold of and are not speaking to you 1:1 at any point. Responses often take 3-5 minutes and by then you might have given up. If you buy a ticket with Volaris, know it's the Metro Bus of the skies and that comes with a lot of baggage. read more

I flew back to Mexico on a volaris flight on April 2026. WORST AIRLINE EVER ! The people during the boarding process were extremely rude and didn't care at all. Volaris give you the option to pay for a better seat and right before you go on the plane they change your seat for no reason... I was traveling with surfboards. They destroyed one of my board. Contacted customer service, they told me they can only give me a 500 MXN credit (it's like $30) The value of my board is around $800. I told them I won't take a credit because I won't flight Volaris ever again. I just asked for a $100 refund on my debit card so I can get my surfboard fixed. Them they stop replying to me... Don't give them your money, The plane was really dirty too and the pilot was telling a story for over 2 hours on the intercom when everyone is trying to sleep... I never see that before. That's was really annoying to have to listen to that guy speaking in Spanish for two hours straight. What a joke... read more

Got stuck in Mexico due to the state of Guadalajara being put under a shelter in place order. Reached out to Volaris to try to reschedule my flight-- didn't get actual support to reschedule until after my flight had already departed (aka flight was lost). Ridiculous that this company expects people to travel to the airport under a shelter in place order. Predatory truly. Had to buy another ticket with a different airline. My Aeromexico flight ended up being cheaper than my lost Volaris ticket. Shitty airline and costs more-- no thanks. read more

Very disappointing experience. We arrived at the airport more than 4 hours before our international flight, but the staff were unhelpful and provided unclear information. One employee was rude and refused to communicate in English, which was surprising for an international airport. We felt ignored and received no meaningful assistance when trying to resolve the situation. Poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I hope improvements are made for future travelers. read more

If you can avoid this airline do so. Terrible flight. I had an international flight and the plane was so old it did not have any usb connections or flight movie screens. They did not offer beverages or simple water. Attendants are not friendly and seem annoyed you ask for water. They only came by with a cart to sell from a menu. I had to ask for a cup of ice water which I only got one ice cube. The air was not that cool in the cabin even though all in my row had their vents open. I only felt cool air at landing. I fly international on many airlines and this is by far below standard. They will nickel and dime you for flight, seat and food. And when you try and call customer service it's difficult to connect to them. I finally found this number, hopefully if you have problems they still have it in service...1-866-651-0676 read more

Flight 3104 - Volaris (Tijuana Cabo) | 12/17 Volaris canceled Flight 3104 one hour before departure while we were already at the airport. This cancellation was clearly foreseeable and should have been done much earlier, not at the last possible moment after passengers had already spent money getting there. Because of this last-minute decision, two of us lost hundreds of dollars on transportation, CBX round-trip tickets, and parking -- expenses that were completely wasted due to Volaris's poor planning and communication. What makes this worse is that this was not an isolated incident. The majority of Volaris flights from Tijuana to Cabo were canceled this week, indicating a broader operational issue that passengers were not adequately warned about. Yes, a refund was offered for the flight -- but a refund does not cover the additional costs Volaris caused by canceling at the airport instead of hours (or days) earlier when they clearly had the information to do so. This airline shows a total disregard for passengers' time and money. I would strongly caution anyone considering Volaris, especially for TIJ-Cabo routes. Expect last-minute cancellations and zero accountability beyond the bare minimum. read more

One of the worst airline I've ever had to deal with. I buy a plane ticket non stop. They didn't notify or email us about the changes, but they've suddenly pushed the departure date by 11 hours and added an extra layover adding 10 more hours. You ask for a refund because we're entitled to the DOT laws for any major schedule changes initiated by the airline such as this. Volaris makes it incredibly difficult to talk to support, and doesn't give the full refund. Absolutely unprofessional and horrid airline. How is this airline even legal? Holy shit. Absolutely scummy business practice. Go notify us or something when you guys add a layover to a non stop flight or postpone the departure date. It's good I randomly checked the airline, otherwise I would've had my plans and itinerary ruined due to this incompetent joke of a company. Garbage predatory airline. They pray on the ones who don't check their flights regularly. I could only imagine an immigrant family trying to go home only to come to the airport only to find out that their flight was majorly postponed. Unprofessional rotten company. read more

Jamás vuelo con ellos. Asegúrense de poner candado a sus maletas check in porque esculcan y no avisan y te sacan las cosas sin decir nada! Horrible. Jamás volaré con ellos! 0 estrellas The worse airline I have ever flown with. If you check in a bag make sure to lock your luggage. They go through your things and make it seem like "security " took them out without letting you know. You try to call them and they all throw the ball to avoid paying you back for what you lost. It was a horrible experience and I would never fly with them again. Just because it's affordable doesn't make it ok to get your things out without notice. Zero starts. Fantastic experience with Volaris flying out of LAX. Prior to the flight had numerous questions, called their line and spoke with a gentleman named Francisco Vasquez. This guy was 5 stars! An absolute gem of a human, so gracious with all of our questions, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. If Francisco sees this, THANK YOU. read more

We had confirmed tickets with Volaris, checked in on time, and were still denied boarding because the flight was oversold. Because of this, we lost money on our car rental, Airbnb, and travel plans. The only compensation offered was a small voucher that didn't come close to covering the losses caused by the airline's mistake. Very frustrating experience and poor handling by customer service. We will not be flying with Volaris again, next time we'll spend the little extra to fly Aeromexico and travel with peace of mind. read more

Volaris is a terrible airline due to extremely poor communication and customer service. We have now been waiting over 30 hours for our flight, which has been repeatedly delayed in three-hour increments with little to no explanation. As a result of these delays, we missed a wedding we were traveling to attend, along with a planned celebration for my children. I am now also on the verge of missing work, creating additional stress and financial impact that could have been avoided with proper communication or accountability. The frustration among passengers has been overwhelming. There has been no clear or consistent information provided by Volaris staff, and customer service has been dismissive and unhelpful. We were promised food vouchers but were instead given water and cookies, and forced to sleep on the floor of another airport--not even our intended destination. Volaris continues to blame the delays on weather, yet both the departure and arrival locations have had clear weather for more than 24 hours, making this explanation difficult to believe. This experience shows a complete lack of respect for passengers' time, commitments, and basic comfort. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and heartache--pay a little more and fly a better airline. Volaris is not worth the risk. read more

they overbook flights. if you do not purchase a seat and do not check in within the 24 hours to choose a seat they will AUTOMATICALLY PUT YOU ON STANDBY. Again, if you are purchasing a ticket and do not pay extra for a seat and do not check in within the 24 hours they will automatically put you on standby, so you are essentially purchasing a standby ticket. NOT a plane ticket even though you are paying full price. it has been 3 weeks and I have not been able to get in touch with anyone and haven't received a refund. Not only did we miss out on the money spent on the plane tickets but on the excursions we paid for in advance at the destination we were planning to be at AND our hotel. We travelled from Oakland to Mexico City via Volaris. When we arrived at our final destination, our luggage was missing. We made a report and everything. After a few hours, the customs called asking us for the code of the luggage so they can inspect. Although hesitant, we gave it. We expected our luggage to be sent to the hotel where we stayed, but nothing! We got a call that it's now in MX airport on the 2nd to the last day of our stay in MX. They only gave us 1000 MXN voucher to use for our next travel. A similar incident happened to us in the Philippines, but the customer service crew immediately sent the luggage to the hotel where we stayed and paid us 1,500 Phil pesos cash. read more

One of the worst airline experiences I've ever had. We booked a round trip with Volaris from Tijuana to Lima via Mexico City for ~$868 per person. Our flight on July 3rd from Tijuana was delayed by over two hours, which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Mexico City. That alone would have been frustrating--but what happened next was a complete failure of responsibility and basic customer care. At the Tijuana airport, we spoke with three different Volaris agents, each one sending us to someone else. Eventually, a supervisor told us we had two options: - Take the delayed flight and forfeit any support from Volaris for the missed connection (yes, really. what the heck), or - Wait in Tijuana for four days until the next available flight. While we were still waiting for a final answer from the supervisor, they boarded the plane and gave our seats away to standby passengers. Without informing us. After that, we were told to leave the secure area, exit into Tijuana, and re-enter through the front desk--where we waited another hour just to be told there was "nothing they could do." Total time spent being passed back and forth was about 7.5 hours... To make matters worse, Volaris customer support is non-existent. We tried every channel: WhatsApp, Instagram, phone. Zero resolution. No one took freaking accountability. This chain of failure led to missed buses, canceled housing, and hundreds more in out-of-pocket expenses--all because Volaris couldn't honor its own schedule or offer real customer service when things went wrong. Never flying with Volaris again. You get what you pay for...until they take that too. read more

AVOID VOLARIS AT ALL COSTS! Worst airline experience I have ever had! They canceled multiple flights and then effectively made it impossible to get a refund, even though we paid for their highest-end "fully refundable" tickets and bought travel insurance. Their customer service is a complete failure. You cannot reach anyone who can actually help. When someone does pick up, they hang up, transfer you into a dead end, or the system disconnects the call. It feels intentionally designed to wear you down until you give up. Because of their cancellations and zero support, we had to buy new last-minute tickets to a different airport in order to get home. We are still owed a refund for flights they canceled, and Volaris is refusing to take responsibility. Save yourself the stress, time, and money. Do not fly this airline. I had one of the worst travel experiences of my life with Volaris Airlines, and I feel obligated to warn other travelers. I was originally booked on a direct flight from Mexico City to New York, but Volaris rebooked me without my consent onto a connecting flight through Guadalajara. I tried to stay calm about it, but everything that followed was completely unacceptable. On the first flight, a flight attendant randomly removed people's bags, including mine, without confirming whose bag belonged to whom. She didn't tag anything correctly and then, mid-flight, just handed out random baggage tags to passengers with zero verification. This was the first sign of chaos to come. When we landed in Guadalajara, every agent gave different instructions about what to do with our bags. Some passengers were told to wait for their luggage because they would need to recheck it; others were told their bags would automatically transfer. It was absolute confusion. To make matters worse, on the Guadalajara Newark flight, the flight attendants began closing the doors on passengers who had been told they must wait for their bags. These passengers had tickets, were following staff instructions, and still were almost denied boarding. It was shocking to watch. When I arrived in New York, my suitcase -- a small red bag -- was nowhere to be found. I am almost certain it was mislabeled and left behind in Guadalajara because of the earlier mishandling. There were no Volaris agents available to help for a long time, and when someone finally showed up, they couldn't give me any information or even file a proper report. I was promised a call by 9 a.m. the next morning -- no one ever contacted me. Volaris is legally required to locate delayed luggage and reimburse passengers for interim essential purchases. Instead, I've received nothing but silence. If this situation is not resolved immediately, I fully intend to share this experience across all platforms so other travelers are aware of how poorly Volaris treats its customers. Avoid this airline if you value your time, belongings, or basic communication. read more

If I could give Volaris zero stars I would. Upon checking in, my mom was told that although the ticket was paid for, seating was not reserved so she would be put on standby. Something that is NOT mentioned upon purchasing ticket. They still made her go through the whole process, through TSA and so on. Made her wait alongside everyone boarding only to be told about an hour later that there was no seating for her. Along with other passengers who were dealing with the same situation. She was then told that she could get a voucher for a next day flight but not guaranteed a seat. So chances were this would happen again. Not wanting to take that chance, she booked with a different air line. This is absolutely insane & by reading the reviews this has been an ongoing issue with no resolution by Volaris. read more
