Great airline and really nice staff. Also really comfy seats and great snacks. Flight delayed a little bit. After the delay, they boarded and got us out of San Diego as quickly as possible to make up for the delay time. When you're onboard the flight there's NO wifi so I recommend downloading a few no wifi games, but they are getting wifi in 2027. Also for snack options, you do have to pay a little but it was worth it because I got a great cheese tray. One thing they also do on Frontier is make animal related jokes because that's their theme. When you come in for descent and landing it's really smooth. The landing was definitely a 10/10. I would definitely fly Frontier again. read more

Terrible experience with this airline, never again. I had flown with them about 25 yrs ago and they were great. Arrived approximately 3 hrs early and no check in agents at all. There's a line of people waiting to bag drop or agent assist and no one here. This is completely unacceptable. They should be here 3-4 hours before each flight to speak to customers that may have issues and check in all these people for bag drop. We were told the counter agents are supposed to come 1-2 hours before the flight. What the?! Especially with how TSA lines have been lately read more

Friends of mine had a late night flight flying into San Diego airport and needed a ride. Before leaving, I checked the flight status on the website and it was delayed. So I waited and checked again. When I checked again it said it couldn't retrieve the flight info so I decided to call. When I finally got through to an agent, she asked me for the confirmation number. I had the flight number only at that time. She said she couldn't tell me any information about the flight by the flight number, that she had to have the confirmation. Seriously? How is that possible? So I searched for that information. I couldn't ask my friends as they were in flight. Finally, I found it and she(clearly at a foreign call center) quoted me the original flight information. I had to tell HER that it was incorrect and there was a delay. She replied "Oh, let me check." Sure enough she confirmed there was in fact a delay but she quoted the original times again. I pressed to get the delayed flight departure and arrival times but she couldn't give them to me. I have never flown Frontier (apparently a wise decision on my part) but have never not been able to get flight information. When checking flight status on other airlines it always tells you it's departed or landed. On the frontier website it does not. I ended up leaving very early to make sure that I was on time because I couldn't seem to get an answer. The airport is an hour away and I didn't want to be late. I ended up having to wait almost an hour for that flight to come in. During that time, I checked the website several times and the information still wasn't clear when the plane would come in or when it landed. Based on the this experience I would never choose to fly frontier. Delays both ways for my friends and incorrect flight info from their agent and website does not give me confidence in this airline. read more

Worst experience ever! Got to the airport extremely early, received about 3 delays on my phone, delaying the flight about 3 hours till they finally cancelled it! I had my hesitations before with budget airlines but after this debacle I will never use another one ever again. This whole time, there is no one at the security gate to chat with and all the screens still read the flight is still active. I call customer service and the guy literally just apologizes 30 times without providing any reason or resolve. After a whole bunch of bs I head to the ticketing counter. There's are a few stranded folks with some real big problems, one's missing his international flight later in the evening, an international student stranded from the Midwest with no resources or accommodations and lastly a poor lady who will be missing a funeral... and that's not the worst part. The lady missing the funeral was actually chatting with an agent prior my arrival and halfway through the convo, the agent ups and leaves to the back without any notice to "eat lunch". Someone literally went to the small door with a window and saw them all eating pizza in the back without anyone to hold down the fort. I know it's not their fault the flight was cancelled but still someone needs to represent the airline and at least give a heads up... you just don't leave midway to go eat lunch. Just a bunch of excuses, 0 resolutions and a ton of money lost on my missed work trip. read more

Their customer service is absolute BS! I purchased the "economy bundle" with the flexibility to be able to change flights. When I went to change my flight, I expected to have to pay the difference in the cost of flights. What I didn't expect was that they charged me the taxes and fees (on the full amount) and another "economy bundle" Then when I called and talked to an agent, they refused to let me speak with a supervisor. In what world is it good business to not allow your customers to speak with a supervisor or manager when there is a problem?! Needless to say, I will do everything in my power to never fly frontier again. If I could give them ZERO STARS, I would! read more

Never again. I don't fly much, worst experience I've ever had. Flight got canceled after several hours in Dallas, not their fault. It was the weather. I understand. It was the gate agents that did not know how to communicate that left a very bad vibe of not caring. I get it, it's been a long day, it's midnight, they want to go home. No excuse for rudeness. read more

I'm absolutely baffled at the customer service for this airline. I've never experienced such horrible treatment before. Looking at other reviews it makes sense. I arrived with enough time to check my bag and I went to the self service kiosk because by the way they have signs saying asking for HELP from their employees could cost you money. Literally so greedy. Anyways I'm at the kiosk and it's not working. I go to look for an employee keep in mind I see other people struggling as well and there's nobody there to help. I ask another airline and they said the frontier one is already closed. I call frontier and am trying to ask anyone that works at the airport for help while I'm being out on hold. Someone who doesn't work for frontier went and asked someone to come up to check my bag and they say no that I need to go through TSA. FOR MY CHECKED BAG. I paid $80 to check it so it wouldn't have to go through TSA. By this time I'm still on hold and now there's 17 min before my flight leaves so I had to throw out really special items to me so I could board the plane. I tried calling frontier when I landed just for my money bank the $80 nothing more. I didn't ask them to replace my items just the $80. They refused and refused I tried higher up and nothing. AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ALL COST. NEVER AGAIN. they have no sense of customer service what so ever read more

I wish there was a 0 they tell you too be there 2 hr before, but no one was checking bags until 1120, then the flight was delayed for 2 hours. I would rather walk then use this place, no I'm sorry or excuse. They need to close down they suck so bad. read more

I called today to see if I could get some kind of compensation for a flight that I had back in April on the ninth where we boarded the plane. To leave from Las Vegas to San Diego at 648 and we didn't leave till after 8 o'clock. And I was hoping to get some kind of compensation on it because I have to book a new flight in the next couple weeks to come back from Las Vegas. But they said there was nothing. They could do because past the 30 days. I didn't realize if I wasn't asking for a refund that they couldn't provide me with some kind of credit voucher for my next flight. Because it was past the 30 days. Has anyone else had that kind of experience? I'm really disappointed because usually I like Frontier Airlines. And this is really disappointing. read more

Frontier Airlines Lost My Luggage and My Patience I've had bad experiences with Frontier before, but this one was the final straw. My fiancé, our baby, and I were flying from San Diego to Phoenix after a family birthday party. The last name on my fiancé's ticket was incorrect due to an Expedia booking issue, and we were told it could be fixed at the airport. When we approached the Frontier desk, the agent was immediately rude and dismissive, cutting us off repeatedly and lecturing us about how "this should've been done online" and "I'll only allow this once, but you should've done it online to avoid a fee." Not helpful--just condescending. While berating us, he looked up the wrong passenger with the same last name, printed boarding passes for someone else, and tagged our checked bags for Dallas instead of Phoenix. We didn't realize the mistake until we were walking away. When we returned to fix it, he said he'd "attempt to locate" the bags and re-label them. No apology, no urgency, just more attitude. We waited to see if they could find our bags as long as possible so we barely made our flight, and when we landed in Phoenix, our bags didn't. The baggage services rep was just as unhelpful--disinterested, vague, and clearly not invested in solving anything. She told me to write my email on a scrap of paper and mentioned I could file a reimbursement claim, but never actually started one. Now I'm without my luggage and apparently without a way to get reimbursed. The only person who showed any effort was someone (Marion from Phoenix) who's still trying to locate our bags. I appreciate her, but one helpful employee doesn't make up for a system that's broken from top to bottom. Frontier's customer service is chaotic, careless, and downright disrespectful. I don't understand how this airline is still in business. We have lost many belongings in our luggage that are irreplaceable such as cherished baby clothes and my fiancées engagement ring. read more

Haven't even got off the ground and very disappointed with Frontier and their lack of customer service and efficiency. Why have self tagging only to have to stand in line again to drop your bags off??? Get on the plane and steward or pilot announces the plane as not being full; however, you have to ask the stewardesses permission to change seats and when I asked to change seats to an open row to sit next to my husband, the stewardesses says no as those are upgraded seats. There are tons of open seating on the plane and the stewardess still said no. Then the stewardess offers a husband and wife an open seating together at the back of the plane and when I turned and gave the stewardess a dirty look she's like your husband can sit right here and then had the nerve to ask why are you looking at me like that? What a joke! Back to Southwest for me. Frontier could greatly improve by sending your staff to customer service training!!!! Update. During flight check before departure I asked the stewardess her name. She replied Ricca (unsure if I'm spelling name correctly) and then proceeded to tell me that my husband and I could have purchased tickets sit sit together. You are joking right????? Then as Ricca got to the back of the plane with the other stewardess she proceeded to talk loudly about me to the others... This is the standards for Frontier???? Wow!!!!! Flight # 2818. Update. Return trip home was just as bad. Frontier charged us an additional $55 to carry on an overhead luggage. We were told that because the bag is checked at the gate that it costs more. Wait what???? Was told by the 2 agents at the gate since we didn't use the checked bag they need to change to overhead baggage and because it's done at the gate it costs more. Asked for the supervisor. The supervisor refused to come to the gate. Was told if we don't pay we won't be getting on the flight. The gate attendant Hayley was extremely rude and was covering up her badge so that we could not get her full name. She also said I don't know the supervisor's last name when we asked for it. Apparently the supervisor who refused to show up is India. What not be flying Frontier any longer and will encourage everyone I know not to choose Frontier for their flights as well. Shameful all the way round. read more

Continue on my last Yelp review since too much words Yelp said... Ppl ran across seeing south west had a San Diego flight but unable to book unless ppl go to the front desk but since flights were less than 60mins the websites did not allow you to book anything which all the front clerks says to book online or front desk... it's effing San Francisco airport they have like two trains to go around this huge ass place so I just felt lost. No one at frontier to help guide us unless possibly the front but there was lines... you can see all the passengers flustered rushing and asking if anyone has anything?!? Thankful enough my significant other found a few but again unable to book unless in person... had to get out of tsa and find a plane... finally found United which had an Ontario flight... took that instead and now had to have my significant other to drive almost 2hrs each way to pick me up and get me home. So thank you frontier for your horrible business! I seriously do not know how you are still able to call yourself a transportation company... PLEASE DO NOT FLY FRONTIER! They will not compensate you and if they do it would just be a voucher with a expiration date because they have underlining agreements prior to booking that they are not at fault for any issues you have and no refund unless a fuck up on their part. But might as well pay a little more for a better flight experience. United was very understanding and helped me in anyway possible. Their staff was perfect even when I was flustered. They got me to book so fast and through the TSAs asap. THANK YOU UNITED AIRLINES FOR ACCOMMODATING ALL OF FRONTIERS PASSENGERS BECAUSE THEY FUCKED US OVER. read more

Frontier Airlines charged me $25 to check in! I had never flown it before, it never communicated any fee, or communicated any link to online check in, but when I got to the airport, on time, I was told to pay $25 for the privilege of checking in, at the airport, on time! $#$&&&%$*^&*@ I have complained to the airline repeatedly, which admitted its communications are at fault, but refuses to refund. I booked a flight from BNA to San Diego (SDA) with a layover in Denver. Unfortunately, the flight from BNA was delayed, causing my daughter and me to miss our connecting flight from Denver to San Diego. Upon arrival in Denver, we immediately attempted to rebook another connecting flight. We have now been in the airport since 10:00 AM--it is currently 2:00 PM--and we are still standing in line trying to resolve this issue. To make matters worse, a Frontier representative at the desk left without notice, leaving passengers, including myself and my child, waiting with no assistance. This experience has been extremely disappointing and reflects very poorly on Frontier's customer service. Based on this situation, I will not be booking with Frontier again in the future. read more

I have been flying for 50 years and Frontier provided the absolute worst experience I have ever had and I will never fly this airline again. Rudest staff ever, yelling at customers and making travel extremely stressful. And by the time you get done paying for every single solitary thing, you do not get a reasonable deal. Even their staff had a mass walk-out while we were there - they must treat employees as bad as they treat their paying customers! These people are crooks - flyers beware! read more

My 2 cents/advice-When flying Frontier, keep it simple. It's a low cost airline. Bring a backpack and nothing else. Anything bigger than a backpack will cost you money. Use Frontier for short distances(especially if you're tall). Leg room is very limited for taller travelers. Know before you go-Frontier e-mails as well as posts information on their website that passengers would benefit from before getting to the airport. Knowledge is power. Check in on your phone. Soliciting help from an agent will cost you money. Arrive hydrated and eating something before arriving to the airport. And lastly-treat the employees with respect. Give respect to get respect. My experiences with Frontier have been positive because I don't expect anything knowing I paid pennies on the dollar to fly. I check in, sit down, shut up and arrive where I need to go. read more

I've had very positive experiences with the Frontier airline staff and although the online "Help Chat" is confusing, the live agents have always been very patient and helpful in getting the passengers needs met, regardless of the errors made by either the airlines or their members. NEVER. AGAIN. They left me stranded in San Diego. They told us to wait for a hotel voucher. NEVER PROVIDED. We waited. For 24 hours, for the next flights, which was cancelled! They were gonna send me to Florida for 24 hours then connect home. They put everyone in a very dangerous situation. We were stranded in an ill lit area. Then they wouldn't give me a proper refund, so I am making a claim with the better business bureau and my credit card company. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE. read more

Absolutely the worse customer service. My mom needs a wheelchair and requested one ahead of time. Flight at 9:28. No one at the desk until after 9am. We got there 2 hrs ahead as recommended and no one at the desk. I went looking for anyone to help. No one knew anything we could do for a wheelchair. We waited 1 1/2 hrs for someone at frontier. The airport workers had refused to help with a wheelchair. Wouldn't allow us to use the ones available saying we can only use frontier ones. I can't imagine what would have happened had I not been there to help her. Even when a worker got to the frontier desk it was 10 or 15 mins before she got the chair. So only mins before her flight. All good things to say about this airline. You can save a little bit of money and don't check a bag. They don't serve drinks on the flight for free. It's an additional cost. There's no peanuts or food. It's an additional cost, but the flights are cheap and it was a great experience. read more

DON"T DO IT! My wife's flight was diverted Mid-Air to Las Vegas. A 2 hour flight was turned into an 18 hour ordeal. Customer Service is horrible. And their staff is dismissive at the ATL, LAX, JFK and LGA airports. They sent me to another airport due to their screw-up making me miss my flight. Then they send my luggage (with the Christmas presents for my family) to the original airport. They have been conducting their search at the incorrect airport. They stopped sending updates 48 hours after the claim on Sunday and I have no way to file an additional claim for damages. ABUSIVE! ABUSIVE! ABUSIVE! Negative Stars I'd like to tell my story today in hopes that maybe others will not have to deal with what I have had to over the weekend. Customer Service Disaster that fortunately another airline was able to help me with.. Let me begin wiith this past Friday. It was a customer service disaster, they do not care. Today I'm letting everyone to stop this abuse. I booked a flight leaving at 6:50pm from SAN. As a pretty frequent flyer, I was prepared and had never missed a flight in my life. Before arriving I checked in on my phone via the app. I arrived, had no checked bags, and procceded to TSA. When i arrived I was told it didn't work. I still had a good amount of time so I got in line to check to Kiosk. The kiosk would not work. There was no one at the counter. I was instructed they are on break. This line was now at least 30 people. Now it would be one thing if the agent was pleasant. The female agent SCREAMED at me and many others At this point, the line was huge due to a 45 min break with no one at the counter. The people in the line told me to go ahead as i only had about 30 minutes left to make my flight by the time the rude woman returned. Despite all of the people line insisting she help me so that I can make it she refused, Screamed at me she would not help and said I have to wait in line. I listened and waited in line After waiting though the line my flight still had not left, she tells me she will not help me and shes going to just check people in. She says she would have to have someone come from after my flight leaves. At this point I'm crying My response was "but you said you would help me" My flight leaves and someone else comes. I still had to beg them to help me. This is my worst experience with an airline. He tells me the flight is left, and I need to pay $100 they can fly me out on Sunday, which is actually the day I'm due to return. How is this fair? #worst airline ever. I took down their info and left to find something else quick. Thankfully another airline was able to get me onto another flight that was BOARDING within 20 minutes. It amazing when an airline cares. Frontier does not. In summary, save yourself the time, money and emotional abuse of flying frontier. I was sick to my stomach to have to fly their return flight back. Never again, and filing many complaints with USDOT and BBB I have never had an airline or any other business scream at me like frontier. I'm out hundreds of dollars and traumatized. read more

Loved it!! Did we sleep in the airport? Yup. Did we have a 6 hour layover? For sure. Did I pay extra for a carry on? Indeed, I did. But here's the deal... I saved $700 on three tickets even with paying a bit extra for an assigned seat and carry on. This is an a la carte airline and if you're looking to save money, this will do the trick. I was completely aware of my long layovers and every cost up front. There were no ugly surprises. Planes were on time and nice!! 10/10 will fly again!! read more

Sometimes cheap is better. Like Costco anejo is good as Don Julio. Other times, cheap leads to frustration. Like renting a compact car. While on the other hand, cheap can be comparable like Botox and Dysport. However, the airline world should maintain a higher standard of reliability. Albeit I was only traveling from San Diego to Las Vegas, cancelling a 5 pm flight and only having a flight available 1.5 days later is insulting. I've flown to Denver several times and the flight has been reliable. Maybe because Denver is the hub. Hundreds of us were in the line for 2+ hours trying to decide what to do. Many folks were stranded. If I make a reservation today, I want my reimbursement the same day. What I don't want is to pay $500 for a different flight and airline. Now that Frontier and Spirit have merged, it may go from bad to worse to comical airlines. CONS Short flights are often cancelled. No snacks. No water. No media. Upcharge for everything. Not worth paying for seats. No entertainment No leg room even if you're short. No real tray. Exorbitant bag fees. PROS Reasonable airfare. Easy check in at San Diego airport Professional employees. Clean plane. Healthy pilots. Safe flight. Easy online check in. The best tip I can offer: Departing flights prior to noon usually don't cancel. read more

With absolutely no exaggeration, this is by far and beyond the worst airline I have ever experienced. I have flown with Frontier 3 times now and I've absolutely had it with them. I've used Frontier Airlines in the past and would never use them again. They have the worst customer service. Worst communication. The absolute worst customer service of any airline. Spirit's going bankrupt and they're a Michelin-starred restaurant compared to this operation. No phone support, the systems they use are designed to fatigue the customer into surrendering, it's horrible. They changed a flight on us by 7 hours, offered a refund and then made it impossible to process. The website wouldn't process it, they won't take a phone call unless you're within 24 hours of travel, it's designed to just piss you off. And it works spectacularly well. I travel often and the only thing I'm sure of right now is that I'll NEVER fly this 2-bit outfit again. read more
