ATL heading to the plane train for connection
Carolyn F.

Despite eventual disappointments, every time I fly them, they are still my go to airline for most of my travel. I saved up many points during my business travel years so we could take a family vacation to Marc some milestone birthdays. I qualified for free air travel between the East Coast and the West Coast using points alone. So I pushed the envelope and paid a couple of hundred dollars extra for each of us to fly first class from east to West. The first leg from HPN to Atlanta worked wonderfully. The connection however, was a disappointment. I am pretty sure that the seat we were assigned was a coach or possibly a Comfort class seat that they crammed into first class cabin. The service was very good, but the ride was not comfortable, especially since I have been dealing with some medical issues. Add to that, one of the three main suitcases that we checked in in White Plains at the same time did not make the flight. We were left without bags on our first night in San Francisco. Delta, what the heck are you doing? Not having those items meant that we changed our evening plans - another disappointment. So when I asked if I would recommend Delta, I guess that all depends. I haven't yet reached out to Customer Care as we just returned home, but let's see how that works out and I'll report back

Not the most comfortable airline, but they get their job done, I requested the wheel chair assistant for my Mom, and they did just that, some of them gave us attitude which was uncalled for, so they didn't get pay enough so they have to rely on senior citizens tips now, for real though. Their airplane's food was kinda hit and miss, until you hit international water, you got better food, but when you landed back to the US, their food always weird. And yeah, they did delay my luggages, luckily they delivered them to my place the following day, thank God I didn't lose them because I have to recheck them at LAX

Back to NYC! My favorite. #IloveNewYork

Delta Airlines is the best. Their flights are usually on time. The planes are nicer than other airlines. The staff are friendly. I try to fly Delta whenever possible. Oh! The loyalty points are easy to use.

I am putting a complaint on one of the front desk receptionist Aaron. Our flight was delayed and we decided to stay in our layover city. Aaron did not let us take our carry on with us even though other people on front and behind us took their carry on with them. He tried to force us to check in our luggage and accused us of "skipplagging". We have professional careers and we always use delta to fly when we need to do business meetings. He shut the doors to the flight and forced us on the next flight. This was very unprofessional and we are putting a formal complaint with the head quarters of delta. We took a video of this unprofessional behavior of Aaron.

Delays, cancelations... delays, delays... thats the name of the game in post pandemic travel. I had a conference in Carlsbad and my flights to and from San Diego were a horror show. Flying out of Fort Wayne to Atlanta, they overbooked the flight. So what do they do, hold you hostage until someone takes a pittance to go on a later flight, they got $200... boarding delayed by 20 or so minutes. They then have us board the plane. It is hot as heck, we are sweating in there, wondering what is wrong with the plane and waiting for take off for another 20 minutes. They then say, we have to get off the plane because there is no potable water and the environmental controls aren't working. Its too hot to fly. Well why wasn't this caught before we boarded?!?!? We have to deplane, go to the other side of the airport and reboard a different aircraft. I was supposed to have a 2 hour layover in Atlanta, I had to run for the plane and many missed their flights. My next flight from Atlanta to San Diego, yup delay in taking off. By the time I got to San Diego, I was dead tired. Then there was my flight back... oh boy. I had just left a dinner where I had a good time and a bunch of drinks, I am staggering to my hotel at midnight and get a text saying my flight was canceled. Wait what?!?! So i had to get on the phone with Delta at midnight to reschedule. Wonderful! So i get rebooked for later than my last flight and then have a connecting flight from Minneapolis back to Fort Wayne. Thing is not only is my first flight later, I now have a 5 hour layover in Minneapolis! Five!!!! I shouldn't have to spend from 8 am to 9pm to fly across the country. Keep in mind i still have to get from Carlsbad to San Diego to fly... and drive an hour from Fort Wayne home... FAA needs to put its pants on and stop this... all the airlines are taking advantage of passengers. This is abusive.

I am a big Delta loyal since I used to live in Atlanta for many years. After more than 1.6 million miles, I still enjoy the service and the aircrafts. This last time I flew into SAN on an Airbus 321 on Delta Comfort and it was roomy and very pleasant. Lots of visual entertainment choices as well as free drinks and premium snacks (I love their Kettle Chips !). Most of the flights out of SAN go to ATL, MSP, SLC or DTW. From one of these hubs you can fly anywhere in the world.

Fantastic to get Main Boarding 2, Yay, only 2nd to be called, not so much. There are at least 10 different boarding levels, therefore Main2 is actually 8th boarding place, all airlines use this deceptive tactic. #Delta will also ask prior to boarding Main cabin 2, if anyone from any boarding levels (which is only 2 below Main) want to check-in bags they can jump ahead and board after check-in. They do have free wifi on plane & plug ins along with a few free movies. The free wifi, sets them apart from other airlines

Ashley S.

Had no issues flying Delta this time around. My bags were there when I got there. We mostly boarded on time. I just wish that for longer flights you didn't have to pay for a meal on board....

Up up and away I go...

--Everything was on time, easy boarding, easy exit, no frills and no fuss!--…read more This is my third flight on Spirit. I previously flew Southwest, but their prices have been getting more ridiculous so I finally tried out Spirit, in 2025. I am now a fan! I have flown one other budget airline (in Europe) before, which left a super bad taste in my mouth, so I was hesitant to fly another budget airline. Flying from socal to norcal (flight time: 1 hour 6 minutes) for $30, I wasn't really expecting much, just that it got me there on time in one piece. I expected them to nickle and dime me and measure my luggage, but none of that happened! The personal item size allowance in America (18x14x8) is way more generous than in Europe. My giant tote bag easily fit in the designated box. I didn't see them try to give anyone a hard time about luggage size at all. What surprised me the most was the flight itself. Planing and deplaning was easier because most people didn't have carry-ons. There were also no snacks (unless you bought some from them), so there was hardly any trash and the seats were way cleaner. Sure the seats don't recline and aren't as cushiony, but it's totally negligible for my short flights. I'm short so the legroom was plenty for me. Not really sure how they make profit charging $30 a flight (during off peak hours), with $20 of it going to airport/government fees, but nonetheless I enjoyed 3/3 of my flights with Spirit!

I had a partial pleasant flight experience with American Airlines, but in the beginning of the…read morepre-departure, I had some ticket issues that I had to let go for my peace of mind . The flight was booked, and unfortunately my daughter could not make the trip due to work reasons. So, I had to cancel which was done early on, abiding by American Airlines cancellation policy, but they issued a flight credit instead of a refund . I was on the phone with them going back and forth trying to make them be accountable for their own legal travel guidelines, and I was on the phone with various representatives who loved to tell me they can help and issue the refund, but they never did refund me! I could have complained to my bank, but they took out all the mental energy in my system that I just let it go! I was on the phone with them trying to get the refund about four different occasions (each representative) assuring me they could help, and some could not, that I gave up the fight to preserve my mental health. Why did they not follow their own travel (legal) guidelines)? They can get in trouble if they continue to not abide by their own legal travel guidelines. I was already taking time to prepare for this important trip and did not need added anxiety and stress on my plate. How many times does a customer need to be on the phone to get successful and satisfactory results? It should take one phone call to do that. Due to this inability to refund my money, and not abiding by their legal guidelines, even having their own customer service representatives on the phone telling you don't worry we will get you a refund, and it never happened. That is a real problem! The flight itself was smooth with no complications, but it needed to be effortless with my entire experience! In the future, I might fly Delta. Hopefully, American Airlines will take steps to improve in the areas that need attention to regain the trust of their travelers.

Never doing any business with American Airlines again!…read more I purchased tickets to Japan from AA, with the flight operated by Japan Airlines AA's email states: "If your flight is operated by a partner airline, see the other airline's website for carry-on and checked bag policies." Japan airline states "2 free checked bags" But they charged me extra fees for every checked bag I had, stating it was AA's decision. Both airlines had no idea what the policy was and they had to call each other to figure it out for 30 minutes. If I don't sign for the extra charges, my luggage doesn't go on the flight. The service being sold had very unclear terms and they have denied the dispute, stating I knew what I signed up for initially, and that I had signed for the charges at the airport. Total Catch-22 THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM 0/5 stars. Fool me once shame on me. But I won't let them fool me or anyone else twice. (Prior to purchasing, I even looked up what other customers had to say about baggage policies on codeshare flights, and they all say it follows the operating airline. Which AA is denying)

ALASKA AIRLINES @ SAN DIEGO AIRPORT…read more Departure honestly isn't too bad, especially if you're getting dropped off. I got dropped off around 7 AM, and while it was definitely busy, it felt manageable. From my experience, it really depends on the time you go, but most times I've been to the airport, it hasn't been too chaotic. This time I flew with Alaska Airlines. I'm usually a Delta person, but Alaska kind of won me over with their cheaper ticket pricing. Their drop-off area is one of the first when you enter the departure lane, so it's super convenient and quick to get out. That said, there were a lot of cars and the TSA line looked long, but surprisingly, it only took me about 15 minutes to get through. The terminal itself feels pretty small, low ceilings, a bit cramped, and not my favorite layout. However, the staff were friendly, and the process overall was smooth. I'd still say Delta is my go-to, but if you're flying Alaska, just make sure to go early in case there's traffic or longer lines.

Still love JetBlue!…read more The priority boarding extra leg space and TVs make it a great flight. The only issue is with this hub there seems to be more delays than leaving Boston. So far only 25 percent of my flights leave on time. From Boston not as single delay at all. Luckily I never had a flight get cancelled. On my last trip a majority of the TVs were not working. They kept restarting. I also had the worst passengers sitting in front of me. They took up Two rows and they were out of control the entire trip. They could not control their kids. It was horrible and like a scene from Outbreak. They kept coughing all over the place, they would also stand up on the seats and cough in your face. . Wouldn't doubt if it was the flu or something. The kids kept jumping on the seat and screaming and crying. They could not control the kids. The entire family manned 1 bathroom for like 1/2 the trip. At one point the father apologized to me because the kept throwing and losing crayons and the would end up in my row behind them. Why not control your kids instead? The was a nightmare flight. I was going to ask for another seat but didn't want to make a big deal of it. At one point the father kept knocking on the bathroom door when somone else was in there. You took up the bathroom the entire trip, maybe others now need to use it. I could hear other passengers complain about them but not sure if they said anything. This was like Romper Room and Daddy Day Care all mixed in one. I feel bad for anyone else that has to get on a plane with them. Ok my rant is over. Just wish a flight attendant woulda told them to relax. And keep seated. lol. Can't really blame JeTblue for the passengers so I'm giving this trip a 3.75 lol.

My boyfriend walked up and asked if we could be moved closer to the front of the plane given the circumstances and she waved him away without even looking at our itinerary. Told him the gates were close together in Boston. The plane had several open seats closer to the front, so this would not have been a burden on her. The flight attendant on the plane was much more helpful, and the pilot made an announcement that a few folks had extremely tight connections so please remain seated unless you were one of them. Every single person in economy stayed seated, but I guess the announcement didn't reach the privileged, self-centered folks in first, as they ALL stood up and a woman told my boyfriend to move so she could grab her luggage. He said no, and I explained we had an extremely tight connection. A man in an Aloha Brewing shirt barked at me that everyone had tight connections. He started becoming very irritated and the woman in front of him told him that it was too early in the day to fight me. So that was fun. I hope dude felt really good about himself for going off on a girl. Anyway, he said he was going to New York so I checked the flights to New York. His connection was not tight. He was just rude. I recognize this is unrelated commentary but it's helpful context in the grand scheme of my experience. Our connecting plane was nowhere near the gate when we disembarked, so we had to run through the airport to another part of Terminal C in Boston. A JetBlue agent there asked where we were running to and said she'd call the plane to ask them to hold it for us. They did. JetBlue in Boston was stellar. All's well that ends well in the end, and the FA/pilot really did save the day, but I really wish the gate agent in San Diego had cared even an ounce to help us as a touch of customer service would've gone a long way. It could've been a different outcome if economy hadn't acknowledged the pilot's announcement.

They seem very similar to Spirit in the way of cost and pricing set up. Everything is piece rate, so you want better boarding? Buy it. Want to choose your seat ahead of time? Buy it. Want a soda or snack on board? Buy that too. So the cost is no frills, just the flight, everything else is an add-on. It's not wildly expensive, but can add up quickly. The boarding process was beyond chaotic. The groups are massive, and once everyone lines up, the lines stretch well into the terminal depending on where your gate is. A few things I appreciated were the flight attendants keeping the luggage bins closed for the first few rows while boarding happens. They didn't open them until people in those rows began being seated. This and upon landing, they didn't allow the whole plane to stand up at once, they controlled this as well.
