We often have this problem with food in North America but this is the first time we've experienced it in a European restaurant, which is probably indicative of some pesticide or other impurity in the food. Unfortunately, the service was also poor. We waited some time for someone to acknowledge us and nearly 20 minutes after we finished our food before being asked if we wanted coffee. After declining the coffee we continued to wait for the cheque until I finally gave up and went inside to pay.

Potato pancakes with mushrooms, the salmon lox with potato pancakes, and the pork medallions. All three of these where very well prepared and all three people noted how great they tasted. We were a party of three and went in for the special, which was a dish with a sauteed (maybe even creamed) kale seasoned to perfection. There were two sausages with it, one was called pinkel and it was my favorite. Apparently, this is specially ordered and shipped to them. It's fantastic. Another bratwurst, a slice of ham, and some boiled potatoes. All of this for a very reasonable 15€. We started with two of the soups and bread and we each had drinks. The service and the atmosphere were perfect. I would absolutely recommend that you try to get in here and check out their seasonal menu. My local friends love it and I'm so glad they shared this with me!

The food, atmosphere and service were great. The steak frites was outstanding and the wild broccoli was fresh and perfectly prepared. We were so happy we sat at the bar to dine because we were able to talk with Charlotte who made some great recommendations for food and cocktails made with gin from the brasserie's extensive list. Charlotte was very nice. When we return to the area, we will definitely return to Brasserie Ignaz.

We hadn't but they had a table for us. As the evening went on, the restaurant became very busy and I can see why reservations are a good idea. We ordered three different burgers, all were tasty. You have the option of ordering a small or large sized burger. I went with the small and it was still very filling. The burgers come with fries, or you can substitute sweet potato fries at an additional cost. You can also request your burger cooked rare, medium or well done. I requested medium well, but that wasn't an option. The service was friendly and somewhat fast. There aren't English menus, but the waitstaff are able to help enough with the translations. I would enjoy visiting again and recommend this restaurant.
