I walked in and straight away met an extremely rude man who, without asking what I wanted, ordered…read moreme to sit down, I asked him if he was Jeremy, a pleasant fellow whom I had talked to on the phone before driving to the shop, but he told me that Jeremy was busy and again told me "Sit down over there". I suggested that he might care to also use to word "Please" to which he did not respond. After waiting some time and seeing two other customers being served that had entered the store after me, I left to walk around for a bit as I cannot sit for too long. I returned about 30 minutes later to be greeted by the same very rude man who told me they were all still busy and "Sit Down over there". I asked him whether he had told Jeremy that I was there to which he responded "He is still busy now sit down there or get out". I asked his name and he immediately covered his name tag. I asked if he was refusing to give me his name and he very briefly flashed his name tag before covering it again but I saw the name "Yath" and "Assistant Manager". My wife asked to speak to the Manager but he said he was the manager. I said that his tag stated "Assistant Manager" but he informed me "It's the same thing". I then asked for an email address to make a complaint and he told me that Optus does not have email and I have to telephone. I asked him to write down the telephone number and gave him a piece of paper and he wrote down the number. We left. He had no idea what we wanted or needed. When we got home I discovered that the number he gave me was false, a non existent number, but a quick google gave me the correct number. He obviously though I was too old and stupid to find the correct number.
Optus, a foreign owned company, has not so far responded, despite over 2 hours of calls to their Mumbai call centre (apparantly there is no one in Australia interested in dealing with customers). It appears that they are quite relaxed in having such very very rude staff, that lie and give false information and treat their customers with utter contempt, they are only interested in taking your money and sending it off shore. In all my years I cannot recall anyone ever being so rude, seems sparked by my suggestion that he use the word please when he first issued his order to me to sit down.
I am really sick of foreign companies here that are re-shaping our society by employing the cheapest possible staff with minimum training that are entitled, rude and treat their customers with contempt, and only put back the bare minimum into our country, from whom they make massive profits.
Big shame on you Optus and Castle Hill Store, it used to be a pleasure to deal with you.
