Giving this place a 5 star not because the service was great, but because this place saved me and my boyfriend lots of money and lots of headaches. Planning a trip from the US to AUS was not easy. My first concern was, how would we keep in contact with our families back home and how would we know how to get around? Verizon Wireless (US phone provider) did not help that much. They offered $10/day for unlimited call, text and data. That wasn't bad if we were planning to stay for just a few days. But $10 times the number of days we would end up staying in Sydney, was going to be $100+ dollars. We weren't about to do that. Luckily, I searched on google for a list of phone service providers and Vodafone popped up. As we claimed our baggage at the airport and exited Customs, Vodafone's booth was right by the exit doors. We walked up to the counter, consulted with the representative and in less than 10 minutes we got our new Australian number. The process was quick and fairly easy. It was a little difficult adjusting to the language (thick Australian accent) but we were able to figure it out once they pin pointed to the different service options.
Overall, we paid $30AUS for 12GB with infinite call/txt. What we forgot to include was international calls to the US. But we still were able to use FaceTime and text our families back home. If you're wondering if 12GB is enough. So far it has been. We've been in Sydney for 2 weeks and we've used our phones daily to get around (GPS) and to upload pictures on social media. They give you a little pin too help you remove your SIM card once you get back to the US. read more
