Vo is AMAZING. My family and tons of my friends' families have been coming here for sooooo many years. We all have trusted her with anything from wedding dresses to business suits to heirlooms. She is truly talented and always a pleasure with whom to chat and work. (note: that sentence sounded funny but I hate dangling prepositions-- grammar nerds, are ya with me?) She really has a knack for making things more flattering on you, without even a trace-- seriously I've scoured seams before, it's indecipherable to figure out where she's performed her magic. Her prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering what some bridal places are charging these days and turn around time is pretty quick. Location: in that tiny shopping center between Subway/Shipley's and the Burger King, Junior High East is right behind it. I took a jean jacket in to have 8 patches sewn on to it. I was charged $71 . The work was horrible the patches were crooked and not even - a 3 year old could have done a better job. I took it back 2 additional times thinking she could fix it - she was even going to charge me more money for the same horrible job. I then took the jacket to All Star Tailors & Alterations - he fitted the patches with my grandson wearing the jacket and did an excellent job - plus he only charged me $18. Ms. Vo is no longer the owner and the new woman is awful. Only go to this shop if you want to be overcharged for a horrible job. read more

I took in 9 pairs of pants to be altered. I wanted them all to be hemmed with cuffs and 5 pair to have the waist taken in. I just picked them up and none of them have cuffs. She told me that I didn't tell her that I wanted cuffs, when I clearly did 3 times. I verified cuffs with her and she said oh yes, yes, cuffs. Now, when I pick them up she says, no you didn't tell me that, I would charge you more. They are all ruined now since she cut away all the excess fabric so you can't make cuffs out of them. I am furious. I've used her once before and she did a great job, which is why I trusted her with all of these pants. Lesson learned. I would steer clear of this place at all costs. Furious I tell you. Giving 1 star because you have to give a start rating, but she does not deserve any stars. read more

Don't go here. Not the original owner. Took two pair of jeans to get hemmed. . She measured them. I came to pick them up and left her a very sizable tip because she did the job the same day. When I got home they were both dragging the floor. Took them back. She said I should have told her I wanted a "short hem". She measured them at the length I wanted when I was there the first time. She said I would have to pay again because I did not specify that I wanted a "short hem." I asked if I could apply the tip to the re-hem because it would almost cover the 2nd charge. She said no. I paid her again because I was in a hurry. She got it right the second time. How can you mess up a straight bottom hem. Will never go back. read more

They may be ok with minor alterations but she is not a tailor. I brought in a dress that was pretty big on me and after some major pinning she said the work would cost $50! That's very high but I went with it since I liked the dress. When I returned to try it on the alterations were horrible. The stitches were visibly crooked and bunched in places and the pockets were not adjusted with the rest of the dress so I couldn't even put my hands in them anymore. The whole dress looked terrible. She could tell I was unhappy and said she wouldn't charge me... but that's beside the point. The dress was now ruined! The way excess material had been cut away. It couldn't even be fixed by someone else. I was furious! I told her that if she couldn't have done the work correctly then why didn't she just not touch it. I ordered a dress for my trip out of town and it ended up being way too big despite ordering what I thought was the correct size. I needed it to be shortened/made smaller in three places and the owner here did them within my short deadline, and offered me a great price (almost half what I was quoted at another place). She was very nice to work with. Didn't talk much but she knew exactly what I wanted and how to alter the dress properly. The alterations were done well and the dress looked very flattering. I will definitely be going back for other basic alterations in the future. They take cash or check only though so remember your quote and bring your cash or check book when you come to pick up. I've been coming here for years and even though I no longer work in the area I make the trip. Pear-shaped body means I get a ton of things altered in the waist and maybe hemmed. Doesn't matter; jeans, dress pants all look amazing. She tailors my blazers, the sleeves, arm pits or adds darts where there were no darts. I'm not a seamstress but she can look at it and can tell what to do. She has altered a full length sequined ball gown skirt and completely redesigned a dress neckline... I truly believe if you got the money she can do it, or she'll be honest and say it won't look right. Woman of few words but she is awesome!!!! read more

This place is TERRIBLE!!!! I'm not sure what the other reviews are boasting about, maybe they do good work on wedding gowns. I brought in a brand new pair of suit pants ($200 value) to have a inch and a half taken out of the waist. Again brand new with tags on them!!! I dropped them off on Wednesday and picked up on Friday. Upon arrival I was handed the suit pants and noticed the tags were all removed and the manufacture tags weren't on a place were they affected the alterations. Not only did they take all the tags off they tore my pants while doing so and denied it and said they don't recall them being new with tags!!! Are you serious?! She couldn't find the tags and dug through the trash and found the tag. When I looked where the alteration was done it was the worst and most unprofessional alteration work I've ever seen! It was half stitched and part unstitched, long threads hanging everywhere. I honestly can't explain how terrible they looked when I came to pick them up. I wish I could have taken a picture but after complaining about the terrible workmanship she took them back and tried again. Still a terrible job! Long story short the pants came out TERRIBLE AND RUINED! My advice is to find another alteration shop cause Mrs. Vo ruined a $200 pair of suit slacks completely! I had been going to Vo for years. The work was good and the items were ready when promised. THEN, a blouse was totally done incorrectly - the arm holes were so tight that it could not be worn. When I returned to ask for revisions - Vo was HORRIBLE to me! In all the years I had been going to her and this was the first time I had ever asked for something to be redone! The two women in back came out and stared at me! She treated me so bad that I actually cried from embarassment. I will never go back there.
