Hospice liaison said "he is not ready for Hospice". Gave us brochures and went on her way. Husband was moved to Encompass, I did not feel he was ready for rehab, that night Encompass called me moving him back to Martin South hospital he was not doing well. Martin South called me that night and were sending him to Martin North for critical care. Next AM I went to hospital he was not doing well, was treated for several days they moved him out of critical care. My intuition thought they made a mistake; I was with him every day he was in the hospital watching his body slowly going into giving up. Talked to hospice again and again she said he is not ready. I could not believe what she said after looking at my husband. After couple days I said stop with the massive poking of needles, trying to draw blood and he is in pain. I left that evening he was going to sleep he said goodbye love you, he had always said goodnight. I prayed for him; I knew that would be the last of his pain. That morning he was in coma they moved him to a private room and then called hospice I said ok maybe they will learn something from this. We all said our goodbyes then hospice showed up and he passed away that evening. Now hospice wants to help us with our grieving, I went through the hardest time of my life. Don't believe the rosy picture they paint! Maybe a big $ donner helps with the fancy brochures but not hospice care. God took care of my husband and will take care of me.

I have never, in my years, found one location where everyone is as capable and compassionate as the people in this hospice facility. From the security guard to the janitor, every doctor, every nurse, every aid and the social worker too. I spent the four last days of my father's life here. I would not have wanted him anywhere else. They never asked questions of appropriateness, the staff even admitted this organization was very poorly run by management and it was very disorganized. I finally was forced to quit the care I was receiving, it got so bad. Do not go with this hospice. They Bragg because they are the only 5 star hospice in the state.....but definitely they are NOT. I gave them 1 star only because there was not an option for a zero star rating. State of Florida needs to review this hospice. This is my review. I am a Registered Nurse of 50 years and still am, have been a staff nurse, a team leader, a nurse manager and a Director of Nursing. He had many illnesses that could take him at any time, and hospice provided me with extra services so I could take care of him at home. The doctors and nurses, as well as myself and my father, thought that he would still hang on for a couple of more years! He was full of life. Little did we know that only 6 weeks later we would be going to his funeral. The nurses and CNAs and staff of Health First hospice helped us every step of the way. As my father's Health deteriorated quickly, his nurse came sometimes every day to provide assistance as needed. I could not have gotten through this without them!

We signed my mom up for hospice care in February 2026 after a fall (and small brain bleed) landed…read moreher in the hospital. She wasn't needing end of life services yet, but she had severe dementia and was needing total care at a local ALF. Trustbridge transported her back to her ALF, provided all necessary supplies on an ongoing basis (Depends, toiletries, hospital bed, high-back wheelchair, etc.). A Trustbridge nurse and NP checked on her health and well-being every week. Trustbridge music therapists came to play guitar and sing to her several times (Sara is an absolute angel!) When my mom refused food and water at the end of September, Trustbridge got her approved for crisis care, and hospice nurses sat by her bedside around the clock, providing care, keeping her clean and comfortable and calm. These were some of the kindest, most respectful and compassionate nurses I've ever witnessed (especially Miracle, Beverly, Berwyn, Bernadette, and many others). They helped make my mother's transition (she passed after ten days without food and water) as painless and peaceful as could be and made a traumatic, stressful week survivable for me and my siblings. I would recommend them 100% to anyone whose loved one might be in the end stages of Alzheimer's or dementia.

It took several days to get an X-ray for a potential broken leg. When I called the office for more support, all they tell Me is that they can send a nurse, all while my parent was in agonizing pain. After being treated for a bad UTI, TrustBridge calls me at 1 am and says they have a bed and she should stay there instead of hospital. TrustBridge took her and told me they would give her the "same treatment as hospital". That was a lie. She was not given an antibiotic or an IV. They would've let her die. Do not use this company under any circumstances!!!! They will not provide proper care.

Not really understanding Hospice Care a representative arrived within hours to help explain a care strategy. The experience of preparing and planning for the needed care of a loved one was not easy. The VITAS Team really gave our family amazing support through a very emotionally time from early Home Hospice Care to final Facility Hospice Care located at Rockledge, FL. The VITAS Team ensured my Mom was comfortable through the entire process of care. VITAS Representatives and Teams listed below were all superb in our experience! Yes, we lost our Mom but do know, she no longer must deal with the pain of cancer, other illnesses, or worries. Finding a place where a loved one will spend his or her final days is difficult, to say the least…read more The William Childs Hospice House was on the top of our list for two reasons: its proximity to Palm Bay Hospital and the fact that it does not refuse patients who do not have insurance. William Childs is a non-profit hospice, run entirely on donations by generous community members and the families of former patients. Because of its non-profit status, William Childs does not refuse service to patients who cannot pay because of financial difficulties or lack of insurance. My father was on Medicaid, which does not normally cover hospice care, was brought in to William Childs, anyway, because he was ill and not going to recover. The staff here are amazing. Everyone from the volunteers to nurses to social workers are incredibly kind, caring and understanding. I always felt like each of the people at WCHH were genuinely concerned about my father and my family. They all exhibit a clear understanding of the purpose of hospice and are willing to assist patients and families in whatever they need to make a person's final days as comfortable as possible. Though the circumstances of one's stay are always unfortunate, WCHH is a place that cares for its patients in a way I have never seen in a hospital or nursing facility. The staff here work to make sure people are at peace in their final hours and I greatly appreciate all of the work that they do. Definitely a wonderful, unique facility that provides the utmost care and service to all who enter the doors.

She was treated with dignity & respect in her last days. All of the staff were informative on every move taken with her & spoke to us daily giving us updates and even reached out to the family to be sure we were ok & if we needed anything! The facility & her room was so clean, comfortable and nothing like a hospital room, with enough space for overnight family to stay if needed. A screened in porch allowing some fresh air into the room affording the chance to be outdoors while still remaining close by! The gratitude we have for this facility is beyond words or star ratings!
