Watch out for this place and do your research. They sell it up and when you get there nothing is offered. They don't have palliative.

Vitas was on the 5th floor of the hospital so I thought it would be the easiest to move her there instead of Trustbridge which would have required more to transfer her, but still doable. I wish that's what I would have done. I can't change my decision but I hope I can stop someone else from making the decision based on convenience. The reps from Vitas and Trustbridge were both very nice when we were in ICU trying to make a decision. When my dad passed years ago, we used Trustbridge. I thought Vitas couldn't be that different and was more convenient since it was in the 5th floor of Good Sam. They said family could stay and I could even bring her dog, which was something that was important. So we went with Vitas. Once we moved there, it was dreadful. The rooms were uncomfortable for guests (that was not my experience with Trustbridge). It felt old and outdated and just was not comfortable. I knew mom didn't have much time left, but I felt like once they got her in the room they became very hands off. Like here is your old outdated room to die in, see ya later. Page if you need something. I just felt everything was handled wrong. The staff barely checked in on her and anything they did I had to ask for. In that moment I don't know that I knew what to ask for. I didn't know if she was in pain and nobody asked me. At one point I did think she was uncomfortable so I asked them to give her some medicine but they never came to check, I had to ask. They should have been in earlier to recommend it. What if I wasn't there to recommend it? I think if they make the rooms uncomfortable for a family because they hope family won't stick around to see the lack of attention given to the dying. I was not leaving my mother and I stayed there the few days that she was there. They have a chair that's not a recliner but does pull out into a bed mode. I had to bring my own blanket and pillows and it was the most uncomfortable furniture I'd ever slept on. Plus the layout of the room didn't make it easy to even make it into a bed because the room is so small. You would think it would encourage family to stay with their loved ones by at least putting something comfortable in the room. The recliner in the ICU was a hundred times better than whatever that was in the room that we were in. Yes, it's not about me at that moment, but VITAS should be trying to make it comfortable for the family that are dealing with their dying family member. The TV in the room was low budget and the channel guy didn't match up with the paper that they had in the room with the list of channels and the sound quality was horrible so you really couldn't hear it. We were able to bring the dog up even though we were in the hospital and that was nice. But other than that I would not recommend this place unless your loved one was completely unconscious and didn't know where they were. When she was taking her last breaths I paged for a nurse. Nobody came. She passed and I was still waiting on a nurse. Finally, one came and and she saw what was happening. She left and came back with a blood pressure machine, I guess she had to make sure. It just felt surreal..like I'm just doing this thing on someone who has passed while her daughter is crying. She can't get her blood.pressure and then agrees she has passed (like I didn't know that). She wasn't mean, but there was sympathy or caring involved, which is what I thought was important to hospice.

I was a patient from April 9 to 24, 2026, recovering from hip surgery. Unfortunately, the service I…read morereceived was not up to standard. I was constantly awakened for meds, blood work, diabetic testing (4 times a day), and an X-ray of the hip was taken at 11:15 pm the day before discharge, bed sore treatment at 11:30 pm (I don't have bed sores). The housekeeping service was unacceptable. See the pictures below showing the stains around the toilet, the dirty floor, and the shower. It was disgusting! I reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor, and it was improved immediately. The air mattress malfunctioned, and it took 3 days to replace it. I slept in the chair for 3 nights. The food was terrible, and as a result, I lost 6 pounds from not eating. I really looked forward to my family visiting on weekends so we could share meals. The physical and occupational therapy was outstanding; a big shout-out to Darrell, Eric, and Chad for their support and encouragement. I felt confident about leaving the facility and looked forward to continuing PT at home. Unfortunately, Janie Nixon-Harmon, Social Services Mgr, did not make contact with the PT home care service, as indicated on the checkout form and verbally communicated. This was also true of the meal plan service. I spent an hour plus on the phone with my insurance provider setting up the PT service and Meal service. The delay impacts my recovery time frame. PT is delayed for over a week and half.

Most Yelpers use YELP reviews to search out new restaurants, share their thoughts and assessments…read moreon dining experiences, good and bad, and for some, especially the Elite Yelpers, to engage in the myriad of social activities sponsored by Yelp, or by fellow Yelpers through UYE's. Of course, reviews are also written for hotels, various service providers, hair and nail salons, and dozens of other types of businesses. I'm not sure how many reviews are written about nursing services or other providers of service which focus on health needs. Well, here's mine, as I know some of my fellow Yelpers may one day have a need for such a service. For the last 6 months I was engaged in overseeing care provided at home, and eventually in hospice, for my 90 year old cousin, Edythe. During that time, I had the need for at-home nursing aides for cousin Edythe, and called upon Lynden Nursing Service to do so. I was impressed with their efficiency, especially their ability to handle everything via telephone, and to respond to urgent needs. There were situations which really demanded logistic sensitivity and prompt responsiveness, in a very short window of time. As an example, the time when Edythe fell in her apartment (even though she insisted the wall telephone flew out from the wall and knocked her over), and she was seen in the ER, and when I was advised of her release, I did not want her to return to her Kings Point condo and not have anyone to be with her to make sure she would be OK during that night and following day. I called Lynden, and explained that I needed an aide in Delray Beach in no more than 90 minutes, that she had to speak without a heavy accent, and further explained some of Edythe's unique health challenges, to be certain they sent "the right person". They did! Trust me, it isn't easy to find "the right person", when it comes to nursing services and their aides. It is actually far more difficult and challenging than it is, let's say, for a hot, sexy, very bright, well educated, well employed, straight (or close to it) woman to find a 30ish guy with the same characteristics. Now, that caught your attention, huh, assuming you read this far. Well, Lynden identified the right people, and responded to my compulsive lawyer-like former Federal government senior-level employee mentality of not allowing anything to slip through the cracks, taking nothing for granted, and expecting nothing less than excellence. Edythe's last month of life had numerous challenges. When she was in hospice for 13 nights, attended for those nights with 15 hour shifts by one of their young aides (TAVIA), or when she transitioned to assisted living and was attended by another awesome aide (TEKEIRA) to help close out everything in her condo, take her clothes shopping, and re-assuirng her that everything would be ok, my life was made all the easier for the outstanding professional, reliable, and sensitive nursing aid service provided. If you have a need for an aging relative, you'll be well served by using this agency.
