My MIL wanted to stay at home so my family moved in Aug 2012. We worked closely with the Complete Care SB since I didn't have prior experience as a caregiver. In fact, Carolyn diagnosed the moment my MIL was having a TIA and stayed with us until she was settled in the hospital. She was also there at discharge. Katie took over care a few months later but we never noticed a difference in the exceptional care. They were with us right until the end when my MIL was able to pass peacefully. We would strongly recommend Complete Care Santa Barbara to anyone needing assistance wherever your loved one resides. They made our experience as caregivers so rewarding and gave us so much support. I would have really struggled if it hadn't been for their loving kindness and understanding.

While the decision to discharge was based on the comfort and familiarity of home, I want to express my gratitude for the care we received during our short stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Angelica , who immediately made us feel safe and supported. She was one of the very few smiling faces we saw during such a stressful time, and her warmth set the tone for our experience. She took the time to orient us to the room, the services offered, and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Her compassion was genuine, and it showed in every interaction. On the day of discharge, Angelica wished us well and said something that stuck with me: "I'm so glad to see you going home, but if you ever want to stop by and say hello, our doors will always be open." That kind of care goes beyond clinical duties it shows heart. The facility is busy, and while the staff has many patients to care for, it's clear they do their best. I'm thankful for the kindness, professionalism, and support shown to us during our week there. While we're happy to continue healing at home, we leave with gratitude for the people who helped us take that next step. If I could give more stars I would!!!!

A relative was admitted to Channel Island Post Acute after being discharged from Cottage Hospital…read more I had fairly low expectations, but have been pleasantly surprised. Channel Islands Post Acute personnel have been attentive and giving good care to my relative, who I visit daily. The rooms are spacious and typically have two patients to a room. The room my relative occupies looks out onto a put-put mini golf area with several chairs and a large tree. The building itself is older, but is kept up very well and is clean. It is not a fancy place, such as Mission Park, but it is in good shape. I have seen painters there doing touch-ups. I go in at various times of day and have never encountered a mess or anything in disarray. The entire facility is very clean also and there are lots of staff, including nurses and CNA's, always ready at the call of a button. The staff seem to be happy and friendly from what I can see. My relative likes the food, which are well-balanced meals. No, it is not gourmet food, but it is nutritious and they provide quite a variety of entrees. My relative was also able to select his favorites. He is getting PT and OT, which is really good for him in his recovery. He also receives two showers per week and is kept clean on other days. His clothing is changed daily. His meds are administered by an RN or LVN and a doctor checks in to oversee his other health concerns once per week. The old reputation of this place was not good and Channel Islands Post Acute is working hard to change that old reputation and I believe they are succeeding!
