II acquired sessions thru my employer EAP program to address some family conflict with our 3 children, to which I was matched with Susan Dreschler. I have to say, I am blown away with how wonderful she has been, we aren't at the finish line yet but she really has helped us navigate communication amongst all 5 of us and we are seeing progress. I've been able to reflect within myself on changes I've needed to make for myself to be a better communicator, parent and partner. I look forward to our weekly sessions and I can't recommend VMR therapy enough. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I've been very happy with my experience here. read more

My daughter came here with Jodi and unfortunately she left. We were here only because of her. Vanessa is not professional at all. They do not care to help you. The one time I was able to speak with her she was cold, harsh and not helpful at all. Don't know why we kept coming back. We tried calling for information and an urgent matter and never called back. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend their services at all. read more

We were referred by Magellan EAP. Our booked appts were moved around and even cancelled without notifying us. I thought it was the actual therapist so I switched to another one in the same office. I got a call today from the new one stating we were overbooked and were cancelled 3 hrs before the appt. Sounds like a systemic office issue, not a provider issue. I will be looking for another office for my therapy needs. read more

AVOID this place. I had the worst experience at this clinic with Vanessa Rodriguez for marriage counseling. She was 15 minutes late to our first appointment, did not even call to let me know. I had to call her because the door was locked and she said "oh I'm running late I had an accident with my baby" She arrived to the appointment with her dogs. and started telling us that her dog went to the bathroom all over her house....Both dogs were in the room for our entire appointment, one of them barking the ENTIRE time. She kept on getting up while I was talking and grabbing the dog and fidgeting with her phone. I was very uncomfortable the entire time. Then to make matters worse, her dog started pooping in front of us and she just get's up and says nothing, doesn't say sorry, doesn't even acknowledge it. The room smelled horrible and she was acting like nothing happened. Since we spent an hour with her already and it had taken me weeks to find a therapist who was available, I told my husband I would be open to giving her another chance for a zoom appointment. The day before the appointment I sent her a message asking for the zoom link. The appointment was at 8:00 a.m. for an hour and my husband had a work meeting at 9:00 so it was already cutting it close. She did not send the link until 8:10 a.m. and when my husband got on the call she was still getting herself together and not prepared. My husband told her that he was going to be cancelling the appointment because he felt she was unprofessional with the dog situation from last time and then being late AGAIN. She said ok that's fine. She proceeded to call me right after and complain about my husband and diagnosed him with a personality disorder. It was very clear that her ego was hurt. Also she still charged our card for the entire amount of the session and lied to the credit card company when I disputed the charge. My husband and I have been seeing another psychotherapist in Del Mar who came highly recommended to us. It's a far drive but 100% worth it. She was appalled by Vanessa's behavior and said my husband DOES not have that diagnosis, explained the reasons why he does not, and she said for her to come up with that conclusion after a 1 hour joint session and then call me to complain about him after the appointment was completely unprofessional. There are so many good therapist out there with a lot of experience who are professional and really care about you. Vanessa is not one of them. read more

I have had the BEST experience with VMR Therapy and my therapist, Kandis Andrews. I have been regularly going to therapy here for a little under a year, and I have experienced tremendous personal growth. The care is so compassionate and empathetic and I feel very well cared for and listened to. When I have emailed Dr. Rodriguez, she responded very quickly, and Rosa in the admin department is so helpful and nice. I am really happy with my care here. read more

I absolutely LOVE Dr Vanessa!!! Anyone who doesn't, hasn't had enough time with her. I was in an extremely abusive marriage and Dr Vanessa helped me save myself from it. When I first met Vanessa, I attended sessions along with my now ex husband. In the beginning, I really disliked her. I even told her this at one point. she respected my feelings and luckily didn't tell me to not come back (haha). I felt at the time, that she didn't want to help me because of her brutal honesty about the reality of my marriage. I was in COMPLETE denial of my situation. I allowed my ex husband to continually hurt me. I was so focused on saving my marriage and "making it work" that I was totally blind at the fact that I was living in a complete hell created by my ex. I was losing myself in the process. He had no intention on changing or ever respecting me. This he showed to both me and Vanessa during our sessions. I was weak, mentally depleted, had lost my spirit and no longer felt beautiful. I was even losing my hair from all of the stress. Vanessa helped guide me through alot of self reflection. Looking in the mirror is probably the hardest part of going through therapy. But I'm happy she held the mirror up to me regularly. Because that's what I needed. I was totally brainwashed by him. Vanessa focused a lot on educating me on what was going on in my life. She educated me on the cycle of abuse. After spending a good amount of time with Vanessa, I finally had my "Ah-Ha moment" and realized I didn't need to save my marriage. I needed to save myself. One day I worked up the courage to say I had had enough and I left my abuser. Had I not spent the time that I did with Vanessa, I would not have been able to leave him. Thank you so much Vanessa! You have no idea how grateful I am to have had you when I needed you the most. Thank you for not giving up on me even when I told you I didn't like you.
