I will have to agree with the previous reviewer - I was looking to change from my current provider…read morefor cost purposes. So a local rep. came by the house to discuss what they could do and offer. One thing that I was looking at was adding the cameras to my home - and probably with all the discussion that we were doing I lost track that the cameras were $450 per each outside unit. I thought I understood that they were going to be included for the $42+ that I was quoted since I had to sign a 3 year contract. The rep did not leave me a written quote as I had asked which should have been the 1st flag, but ok. Since my wife knew the person, I thought to myself - no problem. We finally said ok after a week of doing some research. I met with the rep one more time to begin the paper work and when we were going through the entire order I finally noticed a charge for $900+ which I asked him, what was that for? He explains that it was for the (2) outside cameras that I wanted... which I explained to him that I thought that it came included. Nevertheless, after our discussion - decided to just go with one camera for the ridiculous price of $450. However, this did not sit well with me... so after he left, I decided to check out the camera unit that ADT was offering for the outside unit. Well, to my astonishment - I found several of the cameras that they were offering for about $125- $175 on Amazon. When i found this out - I contacted the rep. and said to explained to him that I had found the identical cameras that they were offering me, online for way less. I wanted to know if they could match the price if not I would purchase them myself and just have them install it. This unfortunately was not a good solution for them, as after he spoke with his manager that they could not match the price nor would they instal the cameras as it's not an "ADT" camera. They would not be able to monitor nor install the camera - which i then in turn said "please remove them from my order". What cracks me up is that they already had charged my card for $450+ dollars which I found amazing, since they had not installed anything as of yet! At this point, I was on strike (2) with them and still wanted the service - but after removing the camera I would have to not pay an installation fee which seemed ludicrous. My mentality is, if you want my business "whats in it for me"! Yes we were getting a new panel and some new features, but the one feature I wanted I would have to pay a crap load which made no sense... on top of that there are much better cameras out in the market that offer the same features with more cameras at a less expensive price. After this whole hoppla, I decided to call my current alarm provider and see what they could offer me - which should have been my first option. They not only beat the offer that ADT - but the camera themselves were less expensive and of better quality. Once I learned of this, I called the Rep. to cancel the entire order - as I was done by this point and asked that the money they had taken from my account be returned which I thought would not take more than a few days. At the current time that I am writing this, it's been 9 days since I cancelled and the funds have not been returned to me. I contacted the rep. to see what was going on and he then lets me know that it ADT was not able to return the money to the account - that a check will be mailed to me in 3-4 weeks. Hmm.. really? Quite interesting if you ask me... so at this point, i'm actually very happy that we did not go with ADT - as if this was just a glimpse before becoming a customer - I can just imagine what awaits if we were customers.

I really regret the day I hired these people. They're the worst…read more They installed my security system but they attached one of the cameras to a glass window with a suction cup. Naturally it soon fell off. It was an improper installation, but did they just fix it? No, they had a man come out, do it correctly, but charged me near a hundred dollars service to fix their bungling mistake. Then surprise! The thing has a battery in it that wears out. Worse part, it's no simple battery. It's a custom priority battery. They'll sell you one but then there is a 13 step set of instructions to install it! Forget that. Might just as well spend around a hundred dollars having one of their technicians do it. Worse, it's hit and miss as to how long these batteries will last. I had one last two years and one only last a week. I don't recommend ADT, plain and simple.
