Stacy Evans and her team at Vivint are the best in the business. They were relentless with helping me with some permit issues with my town and then everything ran as smoothly possible with the panel installation, the initiation of the system, and the ongoing service. Highly recommend Vivint for anyone considering solar! read more

Do not use this company, especially if you have a flat roof! 1. The sales person told us we would not be leasing the panels, mind you had I read the contract properly I would have realized this was a lease however, i would not have even requested the contract had the sales guy been honest from the start. 2. They guarentee their work for 20 years. Well my roof was new when I bought the house 3 years ago, they complete an inspection of the roof before allowing the panels to be installed. Almost 2 years after having the panels installed, my roof leaks. They claim the roof wasn't pitched right and so the puddles caused the roof to leak and not the panels, however after having my roof inspected with the panels on, the inspector said, solar panels should not be installed directly onto a flat roof they should be on a frame. Also see below pictures of the seals that Vivint made that are clearly water pockets. They refuse to take responsibility for this. 3. A flat roof needs to be maintained every 3 years, vivint will charge to take the panels down, store them amd reinstall them in order to complete this meintenance. Bad idea!! If you are currently having similar issues I am planning to enter into a lawsuit with them and would be happy for you to join. The more the merrier. read more

We purchased a system. Our system was supposed to come with monitoring and guaranteed production. We have not gotten the monitoring that was promised. I emailed the company multiple times regarding a whole month of zero output during the peak of California summer; the company failed to respond. We also had issues with our salesperson who admitted that he could not follow through on the 220V installation because all of his assets were frozen; presumably from fraudulent conduct in his role at Vivint. I have written documentation supporting this. Based on our experiences, the securities class action lawsuit against them, and TCPA class action settlement, I am now convinced that their practices are intentionally deceptive and fraudulent. I am also considering a class action lawsuit to try to compensate for the failure of the company to meet the "sales guarantees." read more

Young salesman was nice, but in the end we cancelled the contract after 2 days. There was no guarantee of steady payments. Also, hated the payments tied to my checking account. Definitely not a safe idea. Stay away until they can give you a written guarantee about steady payments! read more

These people are not worth doing business with. I am not one to write reviews but I would like to save my neighbors in West Philadelphia the hassle we are being put through. They ruined our roof, we have spent MONTHS trying to get them to take their panels off so that we may repair the problems. I have a leak in my young children's bedroom, my dining room is being destroyed. There is mold growing, and a nor'easter storm brewing that is sure to create even more damage. They have run us around saying that we need to speak to managers and these managers NEVER CALL BACK and there is never any record of our complaints. And now the soonest they finally said that they will remove them in IN MARCH. Mind you, this leak occurred in NOVEMEBER. If you want to go solar I'm sure there is a better company to use, because I can't imagine a worse one exists. read more

What a nightmare, please run screaming! We are considering a class action lawsuit. The installers hacked up our roof, screwed up the electrical, customer service is non-existent. It took over a year and several modifications and repairs before the system was even CLOSE to being up and running. Then they threatened us with a lawsuit over their own incompetence! I nearly fell on the floor laughing when I received that letter. This is a fly by night scam that will probably be out of business in the near future. read more

I was lied to over and over again. Our salesman told us he'd get us 500.00 dollars for all of the inconveniences that we experienced during the installation. I was also told I would save 30 to 60 percent on my electric bill, more lies. Our equal payment plan through PSE and G used to be 197.00 dollars a month. I calculated out the average cost of my bill since the system has been active. Average cost 195.00 dollars per month and my equal payment plan is gone. I have no idea what my bill will be from month to month. This is the average cost calculated over 6 months. They are a bunch of liars, if one of their liars come to your house, do yourself a favor and tell them to get the hell off of your property. Liars big fat liars. read more

My experience with vivint solar is a night mare untill today. I do advise all of you out there who is looking for solar, get it if you ar looking for but NOT FROM VIVINT SOLAR. Ill tell you only a bit of my story. From December when salesman came at my house, explained everything about solar and never mentioned about contractor. He shows a page for proof of there insurance to sign. And no contract or anything else. That insurance certificates have expired policy and vivint solar dose forge your signature (like they did in my case) I called them many times to cancell and they refused. So i said simce im not paying for it, i let them instoll it. (Big mistake) My service was installed in February and the system was approved to be turned on on march. No one from vivint did turned on the system even i was on phone with them every week untill August. On June, July and August they charge my cc without having system on for $383. I called billing they told me that a credit will be on your account untill November 2 i haven't seen any credit. Called account over 40 time and waiting for over 45 minutes for someone to pick up and barley. When i called for new service with 1 ring they picked up. I asked them a question. Why when i call billing department i get to be placed on hold fir 45 minutes, and when i need te became a vivint costumer you pick up with 1 ring. He laughed and said. Come one you already know the answers. New costumers are new costumers. I honestly got insulated. On November 2 vivint solar called me from collection department for $351 for 2 months billing. I told them that you charged me for 3 months that i dident have system on and i have credit fir $383. My bill is only $351 and i still jave over $30 credit. Bilking told me that a credit is on mu way since September and still havent apply to my acc. When i received collection call i said enough is enough. I paid them $351 and called my bank to decline the charges from vivint solar and never authorized them for electronic charge on my account. Now im looking with my attorney to sue them. I hope this story will help someone out there not to get burned like me. Good luck. read more

I would not touch this company with a 10 foot pole. I simply wanted an estimate from them for solar installation. I made the mistake of calling them, sent them my utility bill at their request, and made an appointment a week later to hear what kind of costs we would be looking at if we went with them for our solar project. Fast forward to the "appointment" which I cleared my schedule to make myself available for. The appointment was a phone call from an 800 number, rather than an actual person to come out and review our options with us... probably not a great way to recruit customers to pay in excess of $20k for a system from them. Anyway, I decided to give the salesperson a chance, until he then told me that they have no actual estimate for me since they couldn't get the information they needed regarding the size and orientation of my roof. They had no idea how many solar panels I would need, or any information regarding cost. They completely wasted my time and had a week to let me know that the data they needed to produce an estimate was unavailable. I have no idea what the point of this appointment was. Several other companies that we had talked with took our information and came out less than a week later with estimates and financing options for us. There are so many other solar installers that will come out and professionally review all the information with you. If this is the type of first contact the company wants as the face of their business, then it is a business no one should bother giving their hard earned money to. Do not even bother calling this waste of time company. Total garbage. read more

Wait them out and you will be rewarded. Let them give they re sales pitch. I signed right away and 1 of my references didn't and one of my colleagues at work also. Both received checks for $1000.00 dollars for signing after stringing them along. WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. I refuse to have my panels turned on due to this sales tactic. They can sit on my roof for 20 years, cost them more then any savings id receive as far as i'm concerned read more

I felt like I was taken advantage of by Vivint solar of new jersey. They offered me $1,000 and I would not take it because they would not guarantee in writing that I would save anything let alone the 80% savings the salesman promised I would save. I have been threw 3 salesman. The salesman never stay with the company. I was lied to from the beginning "NOBODY TOLD ME I WAS SIGNING A 20 YEAR CONTRACT" What is up with that? I got a half system put on my roof after being told they would have to put 17 more panels up. So now i would have to pay them double. Who is saving me or them? Or who is making out on this deal? Free solar are you kidding me. Your paying for it. What happens when you try to sell your home 5 years from now? Do you think the next buyer will want to take over and sign tth a contract? read more

How about 0 stars. DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT use these guys. We keep asking for someone to come out here and "explain" the major fluctuations we see each month on our NON-bill. Yep, that's right. They don't send out a bill AND they don't send an email bill. They simply REMOVE any amount they feel like from our bank acct. I asked to speak with someone in "billing" and I was greeted with "Oh, they're 'really really' busy in billing right now. Could you call back later?" I said it's 3 p.m. Can't they take a moment to call a customer who is rather irate rather than call back later? I guess not...Oh, did I fail to mention "we are under a 20 year contract. Buyer beware. Had panels placed on roof. Damage caused to my siding and landscaping. Was misinformed( lied to) by sales rep who told me I would get 1000 gift certificate then after I made 4 calls to find out why I hadn't received was told it was a mistake on their part and I wasn't eligible but sorry. Post install they then let me know that they are short staffed and can't have it hooked up for another 6 months at least. When you call their corporate office for assistance they state they will call you back and never do read more

When I agreed to use Vivint Solar for solar panels on my roof I explained to the salesperson that I would need them taken down, stored, and put back up after I remodeled my house in the near future. He said that was no problem for a $500 fee. I agreed to the $500 fee and the panels were put on my roof. When I called to have them taken down and stored I was told it would be $1,8000, not $500. When I explained to the customer service representative the $500 agreement she stated that the company does remove, store, and reinstall panels for $500, and I would be contacted in a week with a solution. I never got a call back with a solution. Over the many, many times I have called back I was told they could not get in touch with the salesperson. What kind of company can't get in touch with their salesperson? That makes no sense and is either incompetence or a lie, I don't know which is worse. I filed a complaint, but nothing was done. It has now been almost two months and the panels are still on my roof holding up construction on my family's home and costing me both time and money. I call constantly and their representatives promise call backs just to get you off the phone. It has been nothing but constant lies from this company. Please don't make the same mistake I did in trusting Vivint Solar. The savings are near nonexistent after their fees an there is absolutely no customer support whatsoever. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have no integrity. I had panels installed and right from the beginning I knew I was qualified for more panels. Not very knowledgeable staff and that was the beginning of my nightmare. My electric was acting up so I had to have an electrician(licensed and insured) come out on a Saturday night and my breaker box was sparking a fire. He had to change all of them out and shut down the panels. It took months for someone to come out from Vivant. All the while still taking money from my account on a shut down system!! After approx 800$ of debitting my account they refunding me in the form of a credit they continued to take that away monthly still on a shut down system!! This all happened in May of 2016. We are now in August 2017 with no resolution. Empty promises, numerous phone calls(a supervisor is NEVER available) so it looks like my patience has run out. I've put in a call to Harry Hairston from NBC news and may contact a lawyer also. My house almost burned down!! read more
