The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We're very patient and would have appreciated even a simple "We'll be right with you." Instead, watching another table receive service before ours was frustrating and unacceptable. Our server was a tall young man with longer hair and an accent. He seemed to spend more time walking around than actually attending our table. This was our family's last dinner together and it was sad to see such a gorgeous place make us feel like we didn't matter. Based on this experience, I won't be recommending this restaurant or returning. I can't say anything about the resort or wine itself, but if we were treated this way at the restaurant I wouldn't like to see how they treat actual guests if you don't meet their expectations.

Last night I bought a bottle of bourbon barrel wine & hubby bought a 6pk of their beer & we played dominoes in the common area. This morning I went looking for lip balm & the store had just what I needed - local & only $3. The on-site restaurant is phenomenal. We had burger & fries and margarita pizza while listening to live music. The villas are cozy & the beds are better than mine at home. Even though we live 4 hours away, we joined the wine club for the perks. Worth giving this place a try!!!!

However, I had heard really good things about Vaudeville from my sister, so we decided that this would be one of our dinners. I had the Octopus, Grilled Lamb Rack and we ordered a Creme Brulee for the table. I also tried the Salmon tartare and the Seafood gratin and everything was delicious. Regarding lamb, I usually don't order it at restaurants because it can be quite gamey and I was a bit hesitant. However, our waiter recommended it over the duck and the beef and it was sooo freaking delicious!! It was cooked to perfection and the flavor was amazing! Overall, our service was great and the experience was wonderful. I would recommend going here, even if you have a larger group!

I've visited several times now, and Portree has earned a spot on my very short list for a wine club membership. Every single visit ends the same way--I leave with at least three bottles because it's almost impossible to choose. I've yet to taste a wine here that I didn't genuinely enjoy. Seriously... every wine on the tasting menu is excellent. The food bites are also absolutely worth ordering. They're thoughtfully paired, delicious, and make the tasting experience even better. What truly sets Portree apart, though, is the hospitality. The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable without ever being pretentious. They remember us every time we visit--even where we live--which makes every tasting feel personal rather than transactional. The tasting room is beautiful, relaxed, and inviting, making it easy to linger over one more glass. In an area filled with wineries, Portree consistently stands out for its exceptional wines, genuine hospitality, and attention to detail. If you're exploring the Texas Hill Country wine trail, make Portree Cellars a priority rather than an afterthought. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The entire process--from booking to drop-off--was smooth, professional, and thoughtful. Because I travel with a service animal, Reserve Tours went out of their way to accommodate us with one of their smaller, private vehicles--a Lincoln Navigator--which made the day even more comfortable and enjoyable. Our driver, Ian, was outstanding. He selected fantastic wineries, shared great local history, and made the experience feel curated and personal. He handled all our check-ins and made sure we were well taken care of at every stop. Highly recommend Reserve Tours for anyone looking for a seamless, elevated Fredericksburg wine experience. The attention to detail, customer care, and quality of service were top-notch.

From…read morestart to finish, the experience was seamless, professional, and--most importantly--incredibly fun. The process began with Gary, the owner, who made the initial planning stages a breeze. Communication was top-notch; he was professional and prompt. We especially appreciated Gary's recommendations and local insight regarding which tasting rooms to visit. His suggestions for where to grab a delicious lunch were spot on and truly elevated our entire itinerary. It's rare to find a business owner so hands-on and committed to ensuring your day is perfectly curated. Our driver, Steve, truly made the day. He strikes the perfect balance of being professional yet completely relaxed, which set the exact right tone for our outing. Steve's flexibility was a standout feature of the tour--he was happy to go with the flow and never made us feel rushed. The party bus itself was fantastic. Even with our large group, the vehicle was incredibly spacious and comfortable, allowing us to move between stops in style without ever feeling crowded. It provided the perfect atmosphere to keep the energy high between tastings. Between Gary's expert planning and Steve's laid-back, accommodating nature behind the wheel, Reserve Tours exceeded all our expectations. If you want a stress-free day exploring the best of the Hill Country without checking your watch every five minutes, look no further. We will definitely be booking with Gary and Steve again on our next visit!
