We live in Lancaster, but a family member recommended Vito's. So when we were in York we decided to try their Stromboli. We visited on a Tuesday so we got the $17.50 special - a large Stromboli and pitcher of soda. I don't drink soda so that wasn't a great perk, but it was cheaper than my husband ordering a soda separately. (A large Stromboli is normally $17.) I enjoyed their sauce served on the side. The flavor was 10 out of 10. The Stromboli was a crispy crust and tasty. The reason I am giving it only 4 stars is because I routinely order Stromboli in Lancaster at a place that probably charges about $17 for a Stromboli, but I get a LOT bigger boli for that price. Our party of 4 has been stopping here on Thursday afternoons after bowling down the street. We sit at a table in the bar area. Adrienne is our usual server and bartender. She greets everyone upon entering and is very pleasant and friendly. She's gotten to know us and anticipates our regular orders. The sausage sandwich is very good and the pizza is delicious but the standout on the menu is the homemade onion rings. Best around. I love this place . Been coming for years . The bartenders are so nice and the staff is always so helpful and welcoming . It's been around for a long time . Finally writing a review . They were slammed in a Monday surprisingly to myself and the staff lol . So I waited at the bar for 15 minutes or so for my food . First time we've eaten here since COVID. Used to be our favorite pizza place, however, our pizza last night was horrible! Are these new owners, because everything was different; sauce, crust, mushrooms & onions, & even the cheese. No spices on the pizza, & its flavor was very bland. No free soda refills, which was surprising, since refills are usually free at other pizza establishments. Place was clean, as it was in the past, & the service was OK, but nothing to rave about. I placed an order, was given an estimate of 10-15 minutes. I ended up waiting for 45 minutes for one item to get done. The rest of the food, hot and cold, sat there and got room temperature while I waited. The lady at the counter kept saying that it would be a couple more minutes or that she would go and check, but we never heard back. Eventually I got fed up and confronted them, and they mentioned that there was in influx of orders right before mine...but she never told me this until I asked. Also, why would everything else be done except for one thing if there was an influx of orders? I eventually got the order and "surprise" they got it wrong. I've worked in the food industry for a very long time and am very understanding, but this was ridiculous. Room temperature, incorrect, bland food. Very disappointing. read more

Needed some food before my late night drive back to MoCo and they were open. Lucky for me Vito's has great food. Good prices and generous portions. The mozzarella sticks (as they call it Breaded Mozzarella) was delectable with a great breading and if they use the same sauce for the Pizza then they have a smash winner. I also had Cheese Steak Sub toasted with mushrooms. The steak was juicy and satisfying. Yelp may say they are open still midnight but they were open till 2am, so call and make sure. Got pizza from here last night. Very bland. Crust hard like cardboard. Honestly think gas station pizza is better than this. My dad comes here weekly for pasta and says the pasta is delicious but the pizza was eh. When I went to visit family up North I made sure I got to Vito's cpl times before heading back down to FL Sure wish they had a place in Largo FL. Pizza n Stromboli's are awesome and my other fav is Mushroom Steak sub. Not sure if it's bc of soft roll they use or brand of steak ums but so yummy good. Haven't found pizza shop as good as Vito's in FL yet. Still looking 5 yrs later. Shame Nick doesn't semi retire to our area then open shop here to show pie shops how it's to make good pizza. :D read more

Used to be a frequent spot when I lived in York........after moving I realized how great their Chopped Steak with Cheese and Italian Subs were and still are. Now we stop on the way to and from the beach plus whenever we're in town to see the relatives. No sandwiches in Pittsburgh come close.......poor imitations at best! Personally I like their chopped steak sandwiches better than any of the famous Philly cheese steaks and we all know they're pretty darn good!! Their Italian Subs are better than those in the Burgh because they don't pile 3 pounds of assorted meat. Vito's puts the right amount of meat that lets all of the ingredients shine through in a heavenly italian way. When I was a kid, Vito's was located on East Market Street close to where I grew up. They were one of the first non-franchise restaurants in York with a drive-thru window (although Albertos down the street may have also had one). Well I am going to do something unpopular for sure - I am going to complain about Vito's. I had been a regular here for years some time ago - and rarely had anything to complain about ever, which is why I brought my girlfriend here, for some great pizza, good drinks at a nice place. First thing, out waitress - bartender. She would not write our order down, and asked us to repeat it 4 times before she believed she had it committed to memory. When she walked away I looked at my girlfriend and said there is no way we are getting what we ordered. Surprise Surprise!! - We didn't. We ordered 2 small pizzas - a white and a red. The red pizza she forgot the peppers - big shock there. The white garlic pizza was bland; we had to use a ton of salt on it. We ordered it with spinach, and it had globs of soggy frozen spinach dumped on it - yuk. The red pizza was just good, although I was pissed it didn't have peppers, I was also pissed the waitress - had so little regard for the establishment or respect for the customer to properly take an order, it wasn't complicated, pizza and toppings. We knew it wasn't going to be right when she was struggling to memorize the order. The beer here is very good. I have had much better experiences here, but I was trying to impress my girlfriend, lame white pizza and the disregard to take our order properly left my girlfriend wondering why in the world I would have liked it here. Girl who took the order did bring us on-the-house soda refills, but I already had a jumbo drink, how was I going to drink a second one? This is a pizza place with bar attached to it. You enter, walk up to the counter and order. You sit and wait for your food to be brought to you. It is very cafeteria-ish. We had spaghetti & meatballs ($9 and not bad), a chicken parm sub (not good at all) and a few slice of pizza (not bad either). The chicken parm "sub" ($6) was like a frozen Tyson pattie on a hotdog bun. I don't recommend it. The slices of pizza were good. If you want a plain pie and pitcher of beer ($6 for pitcher of Coors at the bar) this place will do. If you are looking for anything more, seek another place. read more

The place itself is interesting as it is divided into a family friendly restaurant on the one side and a regular bar on the other. While I haven't been to the family side; I have always received good service on the bar side (even on a Friday evening). Definitely one of the better pizza and beer locations in York. Took my family here on a visit back to town. Everything was quite tasty. The service was prompt and the food was all the right temp. Would def come back again. Had a jumbo pizza, a chopped chicken cheese steak sub, chopped steak with cheese boli and fried mush appetizer.
