The process from end-to-end was seamless and they provided a portal that helped us along the way. Quain followed up several times leading up to the big day, to answer any questions and offered suggestions based on his expertise. With that, Quain provided song suggestions and offered to add songs if they weren't included in his music 'library.' He even assisted us with some last minute requests the night before! They provided an overall first-class experience and I believe his answer was either, "we can make that happen" or "whatever you want;" words a Bride loves to hear! :) I think one of the biggest compliments to Quain and his brilliant song choices, was the dance floor was always packed. If you weren't having a good time, you certainly weren't at this reception. :) I would recommend them for any event, any time! Sincerely, The Happiest Couple/Customer ;)

He followed everything and played every song on a remix to keep the music at a constant flow with no down time. Literally the best DJ in the area/city and would recommend him to anyone. We also requested "make the wedding feel like a club" and he added on lights, speakers, and a display screen with our logo. He did both locations (ceremony and reception) and was on top of everything. Quain is the best and highly recommend him.

Our videographer, Judd, was professional, talented, and took the time to connect with my husband and I before our ceremony. We loved his artistic ability to incorporate the important details of our wedding into our highlight video; we felt that he really listened to us and what we wanted. The finished product was great; very professional, cleanly edited, and something that we will cherish forever. However, there were some slight communication problems in the weeks leading up to our wedding and the turnover time wasn't clearly explained beforehand (we waited 4 months for our 3 1/2 minute video, almost twice the amount of time we were initially told it would take.) We also were confused about the editing process and what exactly constituted as our "final edit." While ultimately our edit requests were met, I felt like I was being annoying by asking. Not a feeling you want when you've spent thousands of dollars on a service. All of these things were very minor though and we would still highly recommend them. All in all we're VERY happy and LOVE our video! If there were a way to give 1/2 stars, this would be 4 1/2 for sure!

So many of the other DJ's were insisting we sign up that same day and/or offered DJ services and photo-booth and photography, etc. We like that TKO was not pushy and also focused on doing one thing right...DJ'ing. We met with them at their office prior to our wedding and were again impressed at their level of professionalism. Andrew was the DJ at our wedding and reception and he was AMAZZZING. The processional song ended up running out because my flower girl took too long to walk down the aisle. Andrew was so quick to catch on and seamlessly extended the processional song so that no one would find out. We were requesting many international songs (Persian) to be played at our wedding...Andrew did an AMAZING job with mixing them in with the English songs and at the right times. Our dance floor was crowded ALL NIGHT!!! We were so happy that we decided to go with TKO and we felt incredibly happy with our DJ Andrew. There are many DJ services out there. If you are looking for a DJ who knows what they are doing and will be on time, professional, and fun then TKO is the DJ for you. All the other DJ companies appear to be jack of all trades but master of none. TKO is the master of DJ'ing! They run a professional business and will give you excellent quality service. **Main location - Cotter's Sports Bar & Karaoke Lounge**…read more There are several factors involved in good public-forum karaoke: 1) Large and diverse music selection 2) Great sound system 3) Logical order of singers (no random cuts, no skipping, no forgetting) 4) Focus on karaoke (low downtime between singers, low filler songs) 5) Solid stage set-up 6) Energetic crowd and singers 7) X-Factors (day of the week, event type, etc.) Of these factors, the Karaoke DJ (aka KJ) has a direct control over numbers 1-4. The others are frankly the product of location, marketing, and hype. The best part about Shaggy Sounds is that no matter what location (my favorite is Cotter's), no matter what type of crowd, no matter how energetic or mellow of a night it is, you are guaranteed a fantastic experience with those things directly in the KJ's control: Massive library of music? CHECK. The biggest books of anyone and that's literally LESS THAN HALF of the songs. Don't see a song you want to sing in the book? Just go up and ask and there is a good chance it's in the computer system. Shaggy is very accommodating and willing to search through his library. Don't be shy! Great sound system? CHECK. Depending on the bar's vibe, the karaoke can be front-and-center (which is the case with all the locations Shaggy hosts at) or background filler (*cough* Double D's *cough*). If you like bars where karaoke is background noise, maybe Shaggy-hosted events aren't for you. But if you like to actually sing and listen to others sing, you'll love it! High-quality speakers, high-quality mics, solid sound checks to balance volumes and make adjustments from singer to singer if needed... you get the picture. Logical order of singers? CHECK. The most annoying thing (at least for me) that can happen at karaoke is watching an unorganized KJ forget the order, lose song selections, and randomly let people skip in the order because of connections/friendship. This is not an issue with Shaggy KJs as their song-selection set-up is done on computer. They enter in your name with a song title within the order, and that's your placement in the rotation for the rest of the night. No shuffling of little pieces of paper, no losing them to the floor, no priority passing (unless you tip, which of course make sense and I would never fault a KJ for letting someone jump in line in those situations...you gotta make that money). Focus on karaoke? CHECK CHECK CHECK. Shaggy events are all about having fun singing. Songs are literally back-to-back as they are totally focused and not dilly-dallying. The only time you hear filler songs is if there aren't that many singers and sign-ups, and it's usually only at the beginning of the night. If there are a lot of sign-ups, there won't even be filler songs at the end of the rotation. It will be straight into the next round. True end-to-end karaoke! There are a lot of options for karaoke in St. Louis. You'd be remiss if you didn't try one of Shaggy's weekly nights. Go and have fun!

My emails were answered quickly and they have an online planning tool to ensure your day is everything you want it to be. Our DJ was also fantastic! This was a very nice touch, since the online planning tool was locked for edits a day before the event. During the event, you could really tell Brian enjoyed being in the DJ business. He had a smile on his face the whole night. Plus, I didn't give him much direction on what music to play during our dinner--I just gave him a few artist to demonstrate the type of music I wanted him to play. Their planning sheet was extremely user friendly, and I loved that we had access to it for nearly a year leading up to the wedding. We refilled parts out 4 or 5 times because we kept changing our minds. It was excellent to have continuous access to the document without it being submitted till a couple weeks out. Now onto the most important reason Complete was a 10/10: our DJ, Jay Burbidge. It felt like Jay was our custom made DJ. He was incredibly flexible, fun, and kind to us and our guests. When he first reached out to us things were very chaotic as my grandpa passed away two weeks before my wedding. Jay gladly agreed to a phone meeting instead of in person, and easily rescheduled when I forgot I made plans to call him and then funeral arrangements got changed and we could not. One of the most special things Jay did for our wedding was playing Sweet Caroline as a dance for my family to honor my grandpa and fading into a video clip of him singing it at the end. It was a beautiful moment I'll never forget. Jay was also so excellent about working the room and keeping our party going. He took requests from everyone but if I specifically asked for a song on a whim it was played immediately. Not to mention when he wasn't rocking as DJ he was an incredible helper, even getting my groom and I water when we first sat down to dinner. He helped reassure me things were still going well when I got worried and truly created the wedding and reception of my dreams. We could not have done it without Jay and I'd give him a 20 out of 10 if I could!!!"

Prior to booking with them, having a videographer was sadly at the bottom of our budget and I wasn't sure if we would be able to swing it. Most of the couples I knew who had recently gotten married skipped videography and all of them told me "I really wanted it, but honestly we probably would never watch the videos and it just wasn't in our budget". I was starting to agree with them just because of the pricing scales I had witnessed, but let me tell you all of those people were DEAD WRONG! If this is where you stop reading, let me assure you my husband and I have watched our FULL video nearly 6 times through and we have only been married a little under 2 months. We still hadn't booked a DJ when I came across Applause. I discovered them on my wedding venue's blog from another couple's wedding who had used them as well. I watched a couple of their videos and looked into their DJ services and instantly fell in love! I contacted them only to discover they were running a BOGO (Buy One Get One) deal at the time. If we purchased videography for $1500 our DJ would be free!! We had only exchanged one e-mail at the time, but I booked them instantly without even meeting them and I am SO SO SO happy that we did! A couple of days before our wedding Amanda called me to review any last minute details consisting of our daily timeline, specifics on our wedding party, songs to play and songs NOT to play, etc. On the day of our wedding Amanda and their crew met us at our venue around 11:00 AM and didn't leave our sides until the END of our reception at 11:00 PM! John was working a second wedding the same day as ours, however our DJ had been trained under John and was AWESOME! He kept everyone on their feet all night and really played off the crowd when choosing what song to play next. We opted not to use their props just based on our own preferences but you should know they do have props that they offer to provide. A day after our wedding they posted screen grabs from what they had recorded, a day or two after that they posted a Sneak Peek film, about two-weeks later they posted our 10 minute highlight film which includes everything from us getting ready, to parts of the ceremony, and parts of the reception. Our day was very jam packed and so John and Amanda requested to meet up with us following the wedding in order to record us reading our letters which they included in our highlight film. Amanda PERSONALLY dropped off our copies of our videos to ensure that we got them. We received 4 copies (2 DVD and 2 BluRay) of our Ceremony AND 4 copies (2 DVD and 2 BluRay) of our Reception + Highlight Film. I could go ON AND ON AND ON about how pleased we were with this company. I would book them over and over again and have referred ALL of my recently engaged friends to them. You honestly just can't go wrong if you choose Applause Productions!

Applause Productions provided ceremony, cocktail/dinner and dancing DJ services (5 hours total and set up two hours before) at a great price. They have an online PayPal payment system which made it easy pay our deposit and then final total. They arrived on time (two hours before our ceremony start time) to set up with sound, lights and a disco ball. Cole, our DJ, was nicely dressed, professional and very friendly to work with. I was able to chat with him about what I wanted and he accommodated our request to play straight from our pre-provided song list, which isn't their norm as they usually go off of a genre/style of your choosing and pick the songs themselves. If you are doing DIY and choosing between iPod playlists versus a DJ, one thing I will say is that the DJ almost acts as a wedding coordinator to make sure the ceremony songs go smoothly and play at the right time and that announcements are made like dinner, last call for food, first dances, cutting the cake, etc. For us this was a huge plus. At the end of the night Cole and his helper even helped us move a few things as we were cleaning up and made sure to ask if we needed anything else, how the day was for us, etc. I would highly recommend Cole and Applause Productions.
