I love new lunch places, and when I saw a photo of the beautiful lunch here on my coworker's Instagram, I knew I had to check it out. The restaurant is very much in ramp up phase, offering a free lunch worth £8 to anyone who signs up to their website with a promo code. I was even given a handful of flyers to take back to my team to distribute and spread the word. The restaurant is located just a few steps away from St. Paul's Cathedral in a small alley, and very sharp looking with iPads, an open plan kitchen, and fresh produce as decorations. There isn't much seating for now, with just a few seats along the wall. They seem to have a partnership with Allpress, the fresh juice place that also has a location near the St Paul's tube station, and sell mini bottles of their juices but not much else.
This is hands down the healthiest lunch place I have ever seen. I would rather eat this every day rather than a salad. I had the roast chicken served with sweet potato mash, chickpeas and a kale salad, but there are 5 other options featuring salmon, beef, turkey, a vegetarian option with egg, and a vegan option with avocado. You are able to adjust the portion sizes so you can upsize, downsize, or eliminate options to your liking. Online it will show you the difference in price and calorie count as you customize. I wasn't a big fan of the kale, so I'd probably eliminate that going forward. It also seems possible to add other side dishes that are not on the standard pairing. I could see this happily working out for a low carb diet, as long as you avoid the wild rice, but even that is quite healthy.
When you order online, you are able to select a delivery slot for which to pick up your order. I arrived a few minutes before mine, but it wasn't ready before that exact time so that is an important thing to keep in mind. When you order on site via the iPad, I was told that it usually only takes about 3 minutes before it is ready, so I wouldn't say there is a large advantage to ordering online, especially when you consider that if you time the pickup wrong, then your food would be cold! But it would be quite a pain if there is a queue for the iPads to order when this place starts to get more popular. I hope it is very successful, because it's so nice to actually have a novel concept in the area! read more
