Step aside Whole Foods salad bar, Detox Kitchen's deli in Kingly Court is the bee's knees if you need straight up vegetables in all forms injected into your system sans all wheat, dairy, and refined sugar. I don't know many places that can boast that at a price point of £8 for a large box of dense and colorful vegetables--the space isn't wasted on limp and wilted salad greens. Think hearty and sulfur-rich veggies like broccoli and cauliflower medleys, starchy ones like sweet potato medallions, veggies like beat root, carrot, and zucchini julienne-ed into a really tasty mix, and eggplant cooked with kale. The veggies are all lightly dressed so you don't be overwhelmed by anything too strong or over-seasoned. Medium boxes run a few pounds less, and from there, a small side, but it's worth the large box for sharing, for dinner sides, or for eating then storing for later. You can select as many choices as you want (they usually have about 6-7 choices at the counter during the day), mixing and matching whatever you'd like, which is a one-up on Princi's model of a 2 or 4 item choice, with pricing around the same [although they do offer a wider range of dishes with protein in it like chicken and salmon with quinoa]. You can also add a protein like eggplant, chicken, etc, but again, if you're looking for straight veg without additives, this is the place to hit up. Outdoor and a few indoor seats available, otherwise take your lunch on a stroll through the surrounding shopping areas like Carnaby Street, Ganton Street, Foubert's Place, or head over to Golden Square. Great location. They also have an assortment of freshly blended juices, boxed salads for take out, juice shots, and small truffles if you're craving something after your meal. Staff are super friendly and willing to explain every item if you have questions, dietary restrictions, and they can assist you in making choices if you have any allergies too.

I consider this place a much needed addition to Soho food scene as it provides a really refreshing balance of healthy and yet satisfying food. Despite coming only for a snack I ended up with a full box having seen the fresh delicacies. The large size box is approximately the size of the one at Wholefoods and there are a few pre made vegetable combos. Having tried a bit of each I give top marks. Great healthy alternative in the heart of Soho!

Today I decided to treat myself and hit the hot and cold food counter at Earth. With only vegan/vegetarian foods on offer, I knew the options would be chemical free. The cold food buffet consisted of a mighty selection of tasty looking salad options. For £5.90 I got the large tub and had a bit of everything. As I turned to walk away I couldn't help notice the delightful vegan lasagne. Another £5.90 lighter I had a huge wedge of hot Italian goodness too. The food was enough for two and absolutely delicious. I am a huge carnivore and will openly admit I was amazed at how tasty the vegan lasagne was. The fresh salad complimented the hot dish perfectly. I was a happy boy. Earth Natural Foods on a whole is a fantastic shop if you are wanting to live a chemical free, organic life. It is obviously more expensive than your high street chain supermarkets, but remember, you are what you eat.

I rarely ask to exchange a food item, but this cake really, really wasn't for me - very sour - and the man who interacted with me was extremely discourteous and had no people-skills in my opinion. Never going back in again.

Yes, I was blessed with allergies to both wheat and corn, which restricts what I can eat. Fortunately, I also prefer to purchase responsibly farmed fruit and vegetables, so shops like Planet Organic make the once mundane task of food shopping now seemingly effortless. I have a special place in my heart for this particular Planet Organic, as it saw me through a rather awkward six weeks of my life after a plumbing disaster flooded my flat. I was forced to seek temporary housing in an unfamiliar neighbourhood I almost never ventured into. Even so, it was a pleasant surprise to find a familiar health food shop nearby, especially since this Planet Organic is their largest. Thankfully, it offered more than I could have imagined and I found myself popping in each morning on my way to the tube station for a fresh juice and again for a quick snack on my way back to my hotel at the end of each day. all natural yogurts (soy, too)...creamy and delicious refreshing juices and other healthy beverages fruits and veggies...seasonal, local, and responsibly farmed pasta...made from quinoa, spelt, rice, or wheat wheat-free biscuits...scrumptious and satisfying nuts and seeds...fresh and flavourful lotions...a nice variety of all natural and oil-free products for face and body hair care...all natural shampoos, conditioners, and colour treatments dental care...Neem toothpastes, dental tape, and breath fresheners There is too much more to mention, and some options will change with their seasonal availability. If you live or work locally, do pop in and have a look. Prices are fair and similar to other health food shops. Planet Organic? Why, yes...I am a fan!

There's a focus on supplements…read morerather than whole food (which is fine, considering the size/location); you won't be finding any fresh groceries, for example, though there's a small refrigerator case which has cold drinks and sometimes chilled falafel, tofu, sauerkraut, pickles. My issue is primarily with the staff. There's a strange vibe here where everyone will ask you if you need help, but then nobody is overly helpful. They're all too happy to order things in for you, but then won't call you if there's a delay. "It'll be here tomorrow" is 100% not going to happen; you're lucky if it comes in a week, and there's no contact between you placing the order and when it comes in to let you know there's a delay. Really disappointing for a small place which could easily have become a favourite, but now is only there if I desperately need something and can't get anywhere else. Strangely, they also stopped stocking coffee (is caffeinated black/green/white tea next on the hit list?) and less-toxic hair dye (luckily John Bell & Croydon is just down Wigmore and carries a wide range) so it really feels like this place is going to be supplements & creams/lotions only eventually.
