I think 3 came up in my area of Pine Valley in San Diego County and I had all 3 come out to give me a bid along with 2 other siding contractors that could install Hardie Board. One bid was high, 3 bids were comparable and one was low. Turns out Mike and Jesus, owners of CertEx, installed our windows with another company 12 years ago but has since started their own company. I didn't choose CertEx because I worked with Mike and Jesus in the past. I chose them because they didn't blow smoke up my ass like other "Approved" and "Elite" contractors approved by James Hardie. I chose them because their price seemed fair. It wasn't high or low. I chose them because my gut said, "You can trust this contractor". Guess what? I was right. The team did an amazing job. So meticulous. I can't get past that. They did not skimp or cut corners. Their attention to detail was beyond expectation. The workers at my home were Carlos, Arturo and Pumba. They were great!!! Such great workers. If I didn't respect CertEx and their workers as I did, I'd try to poach them for my work because they were amazing. Thank You CertEx and all workers involved. Your work was point on. Exact. It doesn't get better than this. I'll update the "after" pictures once paint, lights and chimney wrap is installed. Thank You CertEx. I needed to replace an old aluminum sliding door, nine single pane windows throughout my home, and replace the siding above my garage. I received multiple quotes, but CERTEX immediately stood out. Not only was their pricing competitive and inclusive of quality materials and a solid warranty, but I genuinely felt comfortable and confident moving forward with them. Mike, the owner, is truly one of the good ones. He is honest, transparent, and incredibly easy to talk to. At no point did I feel pressured or upsold. He took the time to walk me through everything and made sure I felt confident in every decision. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in doing things the right way. The transformation to my home has been amazing. The new windows completely changed both the exterior look and how the inside feels. It is brighter, cleaner, and so much more updated. The siding repair also made a HUGE difference to the front of the house. Everything looks modern, polished, and cohesive now. It honestly made me fall in love with my home all over again. I met with Mike's business partner, Jesus, every morning, which I really appreciated. One of the things that meant the most to me was his communication and attention to detail. Jesus kept me informed on when they were arriving and what the plan was for the day. I never once felt out of the loop. Their crew was professional, respectful, and incredibly kind. (Big shoutout to David, Jose, and the rest of the team!) They cleaned up at the end of each workday, kept everything organized, and treated my home with care. Truly an amazing group of professionals who exceeded my expectations. When it came time for the final invoice, there were absolutely no surprises. It was exactly what I was quoted and signed for. If you are considering window or siding work, or any of the other services they offer, I 110% recommend CertEX. You will be in great hands and will not regret it. I enjoyed the entire process and absolutely love the results. I am already looking forward to having them back for more projects.

2.5 stars: My siding looks beautiful due to Christian's…read moregreat employees and due to my diligence/flexibility and my major cost shifting techniques Christian's behavior led me to undertake. The process to get to almost the end point has however been pretty awful. I have read the older reviews and am amazed, because the Christian I dealt with these past 50 days was extremely different from what other reviewers describe. My opinion is Christian is very high strung and explosive these days. It is for this reason that I write this review. While on my property for a sliding and window installation, Christian had three self instigated yelling episodes, once even to another contracting service. Christian, you see, had a 10 million dollar home to side after mine and said he was behind on my job due to the window delay. The window issue caused a one day delay. Health issues in one of his employees caused a 10 day delay. Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years) caused a 6 day delay. I ended up placing a change order request to eliminate Christian's company from trimming the interior to my windows because I became afraid that Christian would have another explosive interaction. Christian also seemed quite unable to manage his moneys for my job, twice asking for money days ahead of completion of scheduled work. He also used my contract to order materials for another job. Thankfully, I was able to get a lin release, but it was only given to me AFTER removing the material from my property and while job was still less than 50% completed. Some of the material he took away that day was needed to complete my corner railing, so a makeshift corner was placed that is chipped and needs fixed. Even though he was contracted to caulk siding and nail holes, Christian told me his workers aren't as good at that aspect of the job, that I would be better off getting a painter to do that work. I had no problem with doing that until Christian refused to credit me for the cost of caulking that was shifted to a painter. Instead Christian continues to insist that I pay him for the caulking job his team did not complete. Christian has gone as far as to state in writing that both caulking and flashing are not required when installing Hardie siding. He also said that he isn't responsible for insulating windows, just for plumbing them in the jambs. Hardie manufacturer, Azek manufacturer, window installers and an independent 3rd party inspector all tell me Christian is wrong. Pretty certain that the CA Licensing Board will also tell me Christian he is wrong. Christian left my job unfinished. I have 32 feet of missing trim in the front of my house, damaged trim at the water table and on the front corner of my railing. I have 3 windows only partially installed/shims sticking out 4 inches into my room. Christian also removed waterproofing from around my basement door and opened up the door jamb above the door in order to re-trim it, but never finished that project either. He was suppose to come back to complete the loose ends 2 Fridays ago, but never showed up. Instead, that weekend he sent me the final installation invoice, which included paying for all these loose ends, even though they were never completed. Christian insists he is correct in his billing practices and that I am misinformed. I am turning the issues over to the CA Licensing Board for their help as Christian has not followed through to finish the contracted project. He has forced me to get others to finish a job he was suppose to complete. I am extremely worried about this contractor. Christian keeps demanding money for work not completed. Sadly, Christian has breeched my contract. The work that was completed is pretty. When Christian wasn't on site, all went smoothly and hiccups were addressed and resolved. When Christian showed up (thankfully only a few days during the entire job) everything became difficult with excuses for the hiccups, no fixes to resolve the hiccups. I give 2.5 stars to this establishment overall, 5 stars for Christian's employees (Hahns and Bart), sadly 0 stars for owner Christian.

Sidings of the Trek Deck boards were showing, I questioned him on this and he told me that could have been installed better. The owner (Eric Cashion) took the time to explain why the old siding (CertainTeed) failed after only 8 years and he recommended high quality Hardie Siding as a replacement. Eric also pointed out some of the signs that the home builder who originally installed the siding on the house were not really qualified to do so such as using the wrong nails, face nailing the siding, using inferior trim, installing siding behind stacked cultured stone, not doing any caulking, and not having the correct boards for lights and electrical outlets to attach. Eric and his team came out and working in blistering upper 90's - 100 degree heat to remove all the old siding, install missing OSB sub boards, and install all new siding and trim. There was an issue with the new siding delivered from James Hardie and Eric jumped right in to very quickly assess and resolve the situation within 48 hours and find a path forward. The difference in the Siding Solutions final product is absolutely amazing. All nails are hidden, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is fantastic, and the house looks absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately this was due to miscommunication as they thought I only wanted to replace 75% of the curb facing siding... not sure why anyone would do that but okay miscommunication happens. Installation: where it was straight shiplap across the front, turned out fine. The window was promised to have a symmetrical thin border across as I was sent photos from the James Hardy website... attached you will see instead it is geometrically cut out to avoid the flashing... could have been made thin and uniform throughout however I was told that it was not possible. Many neighbors have gone through other companies and have the same sized retrofitted window but had the siding all done in the same manner. Mine is the only one that looks like this. Even the installer said "I think it looks cool, we never see it cut like that..." but when it comes to housing clean cut and uniform works for us. I was told later, this couldn't have been known before hand until the old siding and window edges were taken down. However the installer knew it from day 1 and said so to me. I believe that whoever the sales rep is should always be forthcoming with the possibilities of outcomes and what it may look like vs showing examples from the company website yet delivering something else. When I went up on the roof to paint the fresh wood I found multiple spots that were not caulked properly or nailed down. (See attached photos). These were fixed later when they came out to install and fix the remaining portion of siding that I had to pay for as well that I thought was included in the original quote. Again pleased with most of it but a major focal point is the front window which did not come out to expectations of what was originally shown. Anyone can feel free to message me for more pics if needed.
