Superior staff! Always polite, courteous and caring!…read more Facility was super clean and I always felt confident that all precautions were taken to ensure our well-being. Best of all, my knee strain was healed only after a couple short months!! Highly recommended!!

First with family and once I became an adult, on my own working the physical hard jobs along the way. Finally a partial leg amputation, which was included with a complete new hip on one side, and a complete lumbar reconstruct, I really felt that my active & traveling life was over. I had trouble just trying to stand and when I did I could only manage a few minutes at a time. Getting out of bed was an extreme chore. I couldn't even sit long as it was just as uncomfortable in most instances. I slept very little because of much pain. i don't use synthetic drugs, so just imagine what kind of pain I had. This was after all two major surgeries to under go after 60. Someone recommended Physical Therapy of Melissa to me as it was sure that I would need it. From the start they took great care of me. Much respect to Dr. Cole and Rebecca, Natalia and Jules(nickname) up front. She's a doll in every good sense of the word. I was so depressed before going there. They were so expert and professional. They masterfully motivated me where no one else was able to. I got my life back because of it. It took some hard work on my part. I became determined not to let life just leave me in the dust because they showed me at PT of Melissa that I still had some fight left in me. My sincerest thanks to them all. You're all the greatest. BEWARE... I worked…read morehere as a transport driver for 8 months and I'm so HAPPY I'm out of that MESS (explained below). With that being said, I'd like to start off by giving credit where credit is due. The technicians, therapists, nursing, counselors and some drivers are wonderful and you can tell their heart is in their work. They have helped a lot of people. CONS... Pate is NOT approved by the FDA nor is it BBB accredited. Once you get into case workers, program directors and higher-ups, you'll wish you never sent your loved one there. Especially since they were bought out by corporate and fired 45 employees, including a gentleman who was undergoing cancer treatments. I knew way too much and they tried to get rid of me for months because of this. It all still weighs heavily on my mind. Employees would call this place PMS (Pate middle school) because of all the drama. There have also been suicide attempts here by employees that were publicly posted on live Facebook feeds. Along with "love triangles" between the program Director, transportation supervisor and his fiancé. If your loved one is needing long-term residential, I would NOT send them there just based on their Program Director, Monica Brown. She calls ALL patients liars and treats them like they are idiots. Monica would make comments such as " So-in-so is lying about their pain in order to get more pain meds." How can this even be TRUE if the technicians give patients their medications?? And how does she know if the patient is in extreme pain or not?? Monica abuses patients and has their family members bullied, including inside of their children's schools. When she had her own business just before joining Pate, she stole medications from the patients, stole insurance money & filed bankruptcy on $1 million worth of debt owed to companies that provided patient rehabilitation services and then put all of the patients into one home to abandon them. She has been recorded saying that she knows where illegal drugs are stashed at West and Main houses, doesn't care about the patients well-being and left them there. She has also bragged about admitting illegals into Pate herself. She and many others are all about the money and would brag about how much she made, including divulging HIPAA information to others, which is a huge violation of HIPAA law. I tried to speak with management about these situations but they just turned their heads the other way. There have been numerous occasions when case managers would copy & paste one patient's HIPAA information into another patient's file. This is extremely dangerous behavior, as it can lead to patients getting hurt. As a driver, we were closer to patients and their family members who were on the day Nero program. I was told that I could advocate for my patients when things went wrong or could be improved. I was shut down during a few attempts, but I never stopped. They have a retention department that tries to keep patients enrolled as long as their insurance is paying. Sales. They lie to the patients in order to get them in the door. They have not let some of my patients graduate the program or complete the driving training because they would come up with some off-the-wall crap about what the patient "STILL needed". During my last couple weeks driving, one patient's insurance company had paid for a new wheelchair and it was sitting at Pate with his name on it. The day insurance stopped paying for the rehab, Pate quickly sent him home and his family told me that they had no clue how to take care of him. They tried contacting his caseworker several times with no response. Pate wanted to send him home without a wheelchair because his new chair had "disappeared". And this isn't the first time that's happened. I have had quite a few patients quit for many different reasons. One of the biggest complaints being that there is no individualized therapy as everyone is on the same playing field. There are way too many issues to dive into detail about, but there are better places out there for your loved ones

Pate referred to another company called Collage Rehabilation to assist with my new environment, by trying to live independently. They have been wonderful. Thank you Mark and Dr Jennifer Featherston for running a top notch program.

Of the four Leader Therapy is best. In addition to their experience and knowledge they are also relational. They listen, take time to process what they hear and apply it to my treatment. Some others like many medical practitioners today have an assembly line approach. You feel rushed if you don't finish an exercise in time. While they are talking to you you can sense them mentally trying to stay on schedule to get their quota for the day. Once I almost fell when another patient stepped backward off a platform onto my foot as I walked by because the equipment was too close together and too many patient were crowded into the space. The pace at Leader Therapy is relaxed but still efficient. I can see more progress every visit and I feel patient progress is their primary purpose.

They were all very kind when I first started and helped me work through my surgery fears. I was very grateful to Mendy and still am for her amazing therapist talent. She is top notch and has the best energy. I enjoy her thoroughly. I will say they are very very busy and could use more professional Therapists. They are spread very very thin. If you want one person to stick with you one on one the whole session and make sure you're doing your exercises correctly this is not the place for you. That being said they work hard to keep an eye on every one from a distance I just wish they had more help..
