We held our ten (10) year Family reunion at the Little Valley Mountain Resort in late July 2025…read more We picked this particular Resort because I had stayed there late in 2008 and our Daughter & Her Family had stayed there early in 2020. Both stays were nothing short of AWESOME! So now our whole Family was going to stay & enjoy the Resort. All I can say is that things sure have changed over the years and not for the better. We had quite a few minor things affect us with our stay, but we were willing to overlook them. Like water off a duck's back. Then the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back occurred. We had a big bottle of Jack fall from the refrigerator and hit squarely on the glass top stove, cracking the stove top. I went down to the office and informed them of the accident. I also claimed responsibility for the damage and was prepared to reimburse them for replacing the stove top. The lady at the front desk asked for my name & phone number. She assured me that they would research getting the part replaced and would inform me as to how much I owed them. She also informed me that she thought the stove in that particular unit had recently been replaced in the last few years. DAMN the luck!!! On advice from my Brother we took pictures of the model / serial numbers. Turns out the stove was actually manufactured in May of 2012. So, thirteen (13) years old, not a few years old, as originally thought. Definitely at the end of it's useful life. Along with the age. The LED clock on the control panel had several lights burned out. Soo it was really difficult to tell what time it was. Thank God the clock on the microwave was just above it and functioning correctly. The bottom storage drawer on the stove was also broken. It looked all cattywampus and when I pulled it out to see why. I realized that the left drawer guide was all busted to hell. All indications of a stove near the end of it's useful life. We researched the cost of replacing the stove top. The top would be ~$200.00 - $250.00. A whole new stove would be ~$650.00 - $1,000.00. Depending on where you purchased them. Imagine our surprise when my Mother called me and informed me that the Resort had charged Her credit card for ~$770.00 for a brand-new stove. No phone calls, to Her or me. No communication once so ever. Akin to getting into a car accident, with a thirteen (13) year old, damaged car. You accept the responsibility for the accident and they demand, they want a brand-new car. We are at our wits end. Now all those minor inconveniences came to a head. The Cabin - The water had a very sulfury stench to it. So much so, nobody wanted to use the cabin water. We went through three (3) cases of water, for cooking and personal hygiene. No hair dryer. We had three (3) females in our cabin. All with long hair. They had washed their hair and then the search for a hair dryer began, with no joy. Thru phone calls to other Family members, in other cabins. We found out that they all had hair dryers, but we did not. The knife set in the kitchen was so dull. My Wife had to purchase Her own knife(s) to prepare meals. The spa, what a waste. My Wife went to use it and the foul stench that hit Her when She lifted the cover caused Her to reel back and closed it up as quickly as possible. Also the spa was running pretty much 24-7 and very, very, very LOUD. So much so, that it was very difficult for us to sleep. Our room was right next to it and for some reason every morning at ~0300 it would shut-off for about five (5) minutes and then restart. Waking us up every morning at ~0300. The Grandkids bunk beds had no sheets on them. Everyone is getting ready to retire for the evening and we find ourselves trying to put sheets on bunk beds that are walled in on three (3) sides. Which added another 1/2 hour to our day. Not to mention, not an easy task for us old disabled farts. The hand-held shower in our room did not work. Very hard for a disabled person to take a shower with just a fixed shower head. Then of course the stove issue (Read Above). The Amenities - The miniature golf course was a joke. The greens were covered with rocks, tree debris, & leaves. I weigh ~250 Lbs. and I was afraid I was going to collapse through parts of the elevated course, that were sagging under my weight. The pool had a pale green hue to it the whole time we were there. the sign of an, unhealthy and improbably balanced pool water. We did not want to risk the chance of getting a skin rash, red eye or urinary tract / ear infections. Compared to our stay in 2008. The beautiful mountain views are all but gone. Everything has been allowed to overgrow and take away these magnificent Smoky Mountain views. Instead of the beautiful mountain views, now all you can see are trees, trees and more trees. All said we will NEVER stay here again. Y'all's focus seems to have changed from a customer relationship base to a transactional model.

It's…read morehosted by Maples Ridge Cabin Rentals(maplesridge.com) Needless to say, we were sorely disappointed in this 5 day stay in a cabin we had rented one other time. In fact, we've stayed in Maples Ridge cabins numerous times over the years-in Gone Fishin'(3 times), Deer's Lair(2 times), A Little Bit of Heaven and another one I can't remember the name. I'm leaving this review on here because there's no way to review this cabin on their website. I even asked them where to leave a review and I got no response. The pictures of this cabin look good on their website but that belies all the things that are inoperable and left in disrepair. The toilet paper holder was broken, there was a large dried blood stain on the mattress pad (only reason we found this is because I bring my own sheets and change them before I use the bed for the first time), none of the lights on the back porch worked, both huge blinds in the bathrooms were inoperable. In fact, the large blind in one bathroom was all the way up(the one the camera was able to view), and when I went to lower it, it fell and bruised my fingers because of the weight of it. In looking at other reviews on other websites I see the same complaint for the back porch lights not working in a review of June 2023. In fact, I noticed several negative reviews lately and this might be the reason they're not interested in reviews of this cabin on their website. Other reviews of cabins on their website are allowed. The main reason for this review is for the placement of their security camera on the carbort. It was placed on the other side of the carport not on the SIDE of the cabin) and this allowed for viewing into the large window of the bathroom, the front door made almost entirely of glass, the kitchen window and don't expect any privacy if you're sitting at the fire pit. So, if the blinds are open, a view of most of the kitchen and living room and bathroom is possible. This may not bother some folks but it's a pet peeve of mind. In fact, if they had stated that this cabin had security cameras outside I would never have rented it but that information was not on the cabin description at maplesridge.com even though it is noted on VRBO, Airbnb and a lot of other places that rent this cabin. It's not exclusively a Maples Ridge cabin apparently. There were no cameras when we had stayed there previously. I just felt I was being observed the whole time we were there. Just so disappointed in Maples Ridge this time. Seems like they're just in it for the money now and I don't like greed. We won't be renting another cabin from them. You would think that return customers would at least deserve a modicum of respect. We have always left the cabins in better condition than what we've found them. I'm even OCD enough to organize the silverware drawer, etc. Really disappointed!

The home was very clean with many extras. All linens were provided, which was a huge bonus. Also samples of soap, shampoo, dish soap, dishwasher tabs and toilet paper. I have never had those amenities given to us during a home rental. We had one small issue but contacted the owner that evening and the problem was resolved the following day. I would defiantly recommend the home. The creek was entertaining for both our children ages 6 and 9. They had a blast floating down the creek in tubs and also fishing.

Our trip is approaching this weekend but she noticed they hadn't charged the remaining balance to her card, so she called to confirm. The person she spoke to informed her that the dates were changed because they "have it on record that she had called and rescheduled" (which she never did). Basically, if my mother-in-law never noticed her card wasn't charged for the remaining balance and if she never called to confirm... we would have just shown up for our trip and not had a place to stay after a 3-hour drive. The company was rude and did nothing to resolve the issue, and simply told her that "what happened happened, and there was nothing they could do." The only other property they had available was a house in a neighborhood that wasn't pet-friendly (we would be bringing our 2 dogs). Not to mention we rented a cabin for the views and the cabin experience... We ended up getting our money back and by the grace of God were able to find another cabin available through a different rental company, which is hard to believe because this is one of the busiest times of year with hardly any cabin availability last-minute. Beyond frustrated with how they treated this situation, especially during the holiday season when we booked this back in July. I would definitely STEAR CLEAR.

I can't believe how disappointing this was. If it had not been for the fact we spent most of the day in the Smoky Mt Park, I don't know that I could've brought myself to even walk in the cabin. Trashy view with trashy neighbors. The cabin itself was fine. The mini blind fell off the only window without a trashy view but was covered with opaque full size glass cover; and the smell of Febreze was overwelming ! There were no screens in the windows to allow for fresh air. Think shut in grandparent smell.

Comfortably fit our group of 6 and could have had more sleeping room if needed with the 2 additional pull out couches. Good location and driveway was easy to get into (not always the case with rentals around Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge) and were able to comfortably fit a large minivan in the driveway with space to turn around. The only two downsides to us were 1. Small area for trash disposal, and 2. Grass was not cut, but we did go down during an extremely hot week so we can understand it not getting cut. I cannot speak for other cabins from Bear Tootin, but this one was great! Also, free tickets offered with the rental were easy for us to book - all we had to do was call the booking agency (Xplorie) and give them our booking info and they emailed us a link to book through to get our free tickets. Let it be noted though - one free ticket per day and these CANNOT be stacked if you're staying multiple days. Overall good experience though, and helped us save a little money on attractions we really wanted to go to.

TWO DAYS before our rental was to start, they notified us that it was canceled because a planned repair to the deck had not been completed. We had family with non-refundable airline reservations coming from two different states! After they asked if we could rebook for a different weekend--obviously impossible with that many people including college-age kids--they offered us a full refund and we were thankfully able to rebook another place with another company. I would never consider booking with this company again--they are not dependable.

Plenty of water pressure. On to the negative- I've not seen any one of authority come through and enforce rules. No security. We're dog owners and our pups stay on a leash and remain quiet. If you don't mind dogs barking everywhere then this is your place. The gravel sites need to be cleaned up. I think I have found our fire ring over in the weeds. A lot of trash all over our site. The pool area was nice, but this is too big of a campground for one pool area. Very crowded and plenty of adults at the pool using vulgar language around our kiddos. There could also be more benches in the play area for us parents who actually supervise our children. In conclusion, we like our spot. It is very trashy. Buts of garbage everywhere. The fire-pit ring is thrown off in the weeds. A lot could be done to make this place nicer. Straighten up the gravel sites. Spray down the weeds growing though the gravel. Fill in the mud holes from people's driving though the grass. This will be our one and only trip to this campground. Updated** Another example- Our last day, there were some adults at the pool. The conversation told us, these people aren't even staying here. They live up the interstate and come just to swim all day. If we had some kind of staff to check on things, this place would be much nicer and better for the paying campers. A positive is there are a lot of children and it's nice to hear them outdoors and playing.
