Everything sounded appetizing but I finally opted for the K-Shack Fried Chicken Sandwich ("Antibiotic-free, hand-breaded whole white-meat chicken breast glazed in spicy-sweet sesame gochujang, topped with fresh scallions and kimchi slaw made with Choi's Kimchi, served on a toasted potato bun"). The ordering process at this location couldn't be easier: you enter what you want at the kiosk, pay, and then wait. It only took a few minutes before my sandwich was ready. And it's a good sandwich. Those Korean flavors really shine through, and that coleslaw cuts the heavy sauce quite nicely. The chicken itself was on the extremely dry side but otherwise I really enjoyed this concoction. The seating upstairs and downstairs meant it was easy enough to grab a table, too. It's a solid fast-food joint.

I didn't see Toronto Star plastered with the iconic FOOD letters on this building. It has always been the Food Building to locals or those who have made it a tradition to come here. If you do need to qualify it, it's the Food Building at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). I worked at the CNE (The Ex) three different summers, from when I was 17 till 21 years of age. I have fond memories. My second stint was at Ye Old Fudge Pot. Its location has always been on the left when you first enter the main doors of this building. I sold slabs of fudge. I also ate far too much of it such that I needed a break for over a decade before I resumed consuming some. I'm okay now. Time does heal. I was about to go into my last year of high school. I remember being bummed out that I wasn't invited to some get-together with friends. One of them cited that she didn't think that I'd be interested. Ah, summer drama. Well, I had to work that evening anyway. Out of nowhere, I saw this camera swoop in and record everything in the fudge glass display case. A friendly man came up to me with his camera person asked me what was our most popular fudge flavour. I remember saying rocky road. The segment was done. He said that I'd be on a program on YTV. Cool! Take that, so-called friends. Ye Old Fudge Pot also had a slushy stand at the back of the Food Building. I also worked that station. I liked the change and variety. Free slushies were a nice perk, too. I do know this building well. The washrooms are also near the front of the main entrance. It was great working at Ye Olde Fudge Pot when you needed to use them. It can get a bit hot, especially when more folks are in it. There tends to be the usual items at this place. I'd get gum, candy, or chips in multiple packs at reduced prices. The vendors change every year, which makes coming into this building worthwhile. It's nice having an assortment of food and drinks under one roof. There are more vendors at the back, with seating. Seating can be difficult to snag, as it does get busy. Seating is more huge picnic tables. I would end up taking my food outside and eating there instead. Pizza Pizza is a fixture in this building. I have never had it. I was more into burgers, spaghetti, and roast beef sandwiches. I really haven't changed much. Naturally, you don't have to find food to eat in this building. There are plenty of places to discover around the fairgrounds. It's just one-stop shopping here. I recommend coming here if you are new to the Ex. If you're a reflective, sentimental person, it doesn't hurt to walk around and check this place out. (377)

Both crispy and crunchy while still being moist, and unlike most places that simply add two pickles inside, they add full toppings; lettuce, tomatoe, multiple sauces, even onion and carrot/cabbage slaw! If fried chicken sandwiches aren't your thing, they have fries, wings, mac and cheese and mac-n-cheese bites - basically deep fried mac and cheese balls. The side dishes are also an homage to the South with their take on Mac and Cheese and even curly fries! The Mac and Cheese has a nice bechemel with garlic to add delicate sweetness with the al dente pasta. The curly fries are quite addicting especially with their spice blend on top ! Overall, Ghost Chicken is a great spot if you're ever in the mood for a great meal!
