There was no change in the level of care provided (mom was admitted at the highest care level offered) and we had a contract in place!! Being a small town with limited options we paid the increase. We had to deal with several issues while mom was there, employees that were caught stealing and were fired only to be hired back later. Another employee was caught drunk on the job and neglected to give the patients their medications! The owner Liza is not a nice person, very argumentative and can become extremely rude and nasty. The straw that broke the camels back and the reason for this review is the phone call we received the day before our mothers burial. We went to clear out moms room (we got a call from Liza letting us know she already had the room booked and we needed to pick up her belongings ASAP even though we paid for the entire month) and we noticed that a hand made quilt was no longer in the room. We asked about the quilt with the staff and was advised they would look for it and get back to us. Fast forward to the day before the burial, Liza calls and begins to argue with us stating that we never brought over the quilt and quickly became her usual nasty self talking over us and calling us liars. The facility is continuosly under staffed, the staff they do have are not qualified, one of the employees currently on staff is eighty (80) years old!!! If you have other options take your loved ones elsewhere!

So you have a few options in Ridgecrest - HDH, Simply Caring Angels and private nursing. HDH was the best of all options and not just because of the price. The people who work there clearly want to help those who are above a certain age. They have to put up with a lot of cranky people who don't want to deal with the fact that they need more help. I've quietly observed many interactions there. And I can say that the residents are well taken care of. They're well fed (Thank you Anna), and taken care of (thank you Patricia and Elizabeth and David?) and well managed (thank you Abraham, Caroline, and Jennifer) We reviewed options in August and then a week later, my mother in law fell and wanted something to happen NOW. We were fortunate that a room opened up and were able to move her in quickly. One of the people that works there has connections to people who can help you move. We got a Uhaul and got the most important large piece of furniture moved in a few hours. The staff made it easy to check in, fill out paperwork and get her settled. When we left her, she felt at home. The staff work with you and your loved one to ensure that they're settled in and feel comfortable. My mother in law just wanted to be around more people and get a home cooked meal. She loved how people check in on her and really enjoyed the meal. Also the staff worked with her to ensure she will get the care level that she needs. We were so happy that they can provide physical therapy to help her regain confidence after a fall. For her first meal, they were able to bring it to her since she's still recovering from her fall and she loved the soup, tuna burger and fresh salad. It's exactly what she was hoping for. We will check on her since she's important to us. We feel happy that she's in a place right now where she feels safe and the staff will work with her and us on the level of care she needs.

The care and attention that was given to her while under the care of Divinity was not only extremely professional but more importantly filled with love and genuine care. We consider each of the caregivers our forever friends. Arbi, the owner of Divinity, is a very hands on caring owner. He takes on each patient with attention to detail and takes the time to know them and provide caregivers with the skills to meet their individual needs. My mom would light up when they came in and would always work hard to know their names and talk with them. I cannot recommend Divinity Hospice enough. A wonderful lady named Anya came to my house to talk to me and my sister about everything they do, the next day they were at my mom's house, setting everything up, we have two beautiful nurses that come Tuesday Iris and Thursday Dioceline, theses ladies are our angels on earth. They check her vitals, report to the doctor, if we need anything they take care of it. Alta is open 24/7, if you need someone to come out they are there within minutes. My husband finally got one physical therapist to actually come out for 3 times in a row. The occupational therapists would schedule an appointment but then cancel on the day and this was a month from when he got home. He was due 6 visits and he received 2 then they just sent out a review nurse, who said he didn't need them any more! Talking with the coordinator was a joke because either he was non responsive to my calls or just not there. In other words don't use this service if you want your loved one needs in-home help!!

Jaja (the care coordinator) delayed what should have been a routine urinalysis by twenty days. Her behavior was unprofessional, unpleasant and uncaring 100%. I asked for her supervisor Josie to call me which never happened. Today I finally got to speak with Ena, the Director of Medical Care only to be "redirected " to another home health agency. Again, 100% unprofessional behavior. If the director of medical care penalizes a patient for advocating for her well being and health, imagine how the rest of the staff behave. I asked to speak with Ulysses (the director of this agency) and I was not able to do so. I would never recommend this agency and if I could give them zero stars I would. But that's not an option.
