The doctor's original wound care orders did not qualify for Medicare coverage. Toby and Brenda from CenterWell went WAY OUT OF THEIR WAY to work with the doctor's office to develop a wound care protocol that met the doctor's needs for post-op care, and meet Medicare coverage needs. For me, this was an example of what we all hope healthcare can be: highly skill professionals who care enough to provide the absolute best care for patients. THANK YOU!!!

So why do I consider myself lucky? So glad you asked! Because I am one very satisfied customer. I had the opportunity to use their services again and I am still very satisfied. It is a bit daunting to have strangers come into your home when you are feeling a bit vulnerable anyway. On both occasions, all the health care providers were friendly, competent and completely professional. I really liked that the same person comes each time and they really take the time to talk and listen and work with their clients. They all treated me like an intelligent, competent adult. Both PT's pushed me to challenge myself to increase my mobility and independence, while honoring my wussyness. Both Nurses provided me with the information I needed to make informed decisions about my health and guided me in what I needed to do help with my healing. The first time I had some questions about the billing I had received from them. The people in the business office answered all my questions completely and helped make clear what was co-pay and what was part of my deductible. I really like that the company has a 24 hour help line if I have any questions or concerns between visits. This was extended to me both times after I had been discharged from direct services. So, while I hope I never have need of their services, if I do, and if I have a choice, I would most definitely use them again.

That was after they sent a round of JUST WILL NOT DO caregivers, We have a simple but detailed guide for them to follow. SOOOO simple...but you have to be able to read English to follow it. Yes, they sent someone who pretended to be able to read. When I complained about it, they thought it was funny. They call almost every week to tell me they have a schedule change. Someone else will be here or it will not be at the time set up. If you complain and are upset, it seems to negate their responsibility and they take an defensive position. I am the one who is to be understanding, these things cant be helped, well maybe we are not a good fit for each other. There are the responses I get. If you really need someone to relieve you, give you the help you need on a regular basis, then I would look elsewhere folks. I hang up after an hour and would have to call back on another day. When we called to inform them that I would not be using their service anymore but going to another company it took over 50 minutes to do so. They didn't ask why we were changing or how they could keep our business. My husband and I both felt they didn't care. I have been trying for almost a year to become more mobile with my oxygen. Preferred gave with bulky tanks in a dolly with wheels. Can I just say that makes it really hard to go anywhere? Not to mention, it only lasts about 3 hours. They would not get me a more mobile oxygen concentrator. I, therefore, had to go to another company to get a mobile oxygen concentrator. It is a rechargeable one and comes with a charger for home and car use. I must say, however, that all the employees that came to my home were kind, cordial, and knowledgeable. They too could not understand why I could not get a mobile oxygen concentrator. I was informed that they are often yelled at because the office is so terrible at returning phone calls or even answering the phone. It is because of these employees that I left two stars. They deserve more but the company does not. Let's just say I am breathing easier since getting a new company.

I have been a patient for more years than I hope to count. Though I have received caregivers who…read morewere very competent, skillful and affable, and who I missed when they left for better paying jobs and situations. However, do not be fooled. The last caregiver was extremely deceitful, and for want of a better term, emotionally abusive. However, because she was a very competent person in her tasks, I bent over backwards to keep her. She was extremely fond of calling me, to my face, "crazy". "You're SO crazy" titter, titter, titter, and then, she would say, "oh no. Not Really. You're not crazy" hahaha. Meanwhile, the office was calling, behind my back, a "Hoarder". Even though I am fully disabled, homebound, and unable to care for myself, without some outside help, and therefore, not as good as a housekeeper as I used to be before becoming 100% disabled, and now a senior. Nonetheless, this is how they talk about their patients, insinuating how "crazy", or "hoarders" (because they can't keep ahead of the housework, because that is why I am getting help in the first place; help with housework. All I can say it, "who is crazy NOW"? So, if you, either need help, or, are a family member, seeking for help for your loved one, beware of this self-defeating, undermining, abusive behavior and labeling that they do to their patients. The last caregiver I had, Lied to management regarding that "I was NEVER available" and, while, at the same time, she was coming on every day during the week, per HER convenience. Then, instead of just deciding she didn't want to work for me anymore (after 1 year), instead if letting me know to my face, she goes to management and lies about something that never happened, so she could look good, I guess. What worries me the most, is that, should these people be allowed to care for a frail elderly, there is no end to what some of them, and their emotionally abusive behavior, can do. Management, at the same time, looks the other way, because they do not pay well enough to attract competent caregivers. Unfortunately, I cannot even GET another Agency, because they are all booked up and not accepting any new clients. So, final thought: "Buyer Beware!"
