ETA: After posting my reviews on several sites (original review below), the store manager reached out and offered to replace the frames at no charge. It did mean another 45 mile drive to the store, but he was kind to offer. If the staff can't help you with something in store, ask for the manager. I purchased glasses here in May 2023 for my daughter and even with offered discounts they were $300. One of the sides broke off at the hinge while she was wearing the glasses. She's a 20 year old college student so she's not exactly rough with her glasses. Since they were only 9 months old I went back to Visionworks to ask about having them repaired or replaced. They said all they could do was offer me 25% off a new pair of frames ($170). Frankly I find this ridiculous. A $300 pair of glasses should last longer than 9 months. I would NEVER purchase glasses from a company that doesn't stand behind what they sell. Lesson learned - we'll stick with affordable options like Costco or Warby Parker for the rest of our lives. We made an appointment early so my son wouldn't be tired. Unfortunately we still waited over an hour. The doctor was nice enough and the one optician who helped do our order at the end redeemed themselves. A couple of the office staff need to work on how they handle some of the older fussy customers. What I heard was not the most positive exchange in different opinions as we waited. Not sure if we will return to this location. We might drive further down the road next time. read more

I wish I could leave less than one star. I have never been treated as disrespectfully as I was today by Lolita D. when I went to get a refund on a second pair of glasses I had ordered. She is undoubtedly the most unprofessional, sour, rude person I have ever encountered in a medical setting. Actually, in any setting. I do not understand why her general manager, Jim, allows her to do this. He was right there and never intervened to provide better service or to support me as his customer. Here's what happened: The first pair was not a great prescription for reading, though distance was okay. I had called in prior to coming. I had spoken to two different people and informed both of them that I wanted to return the second pair. When I arrived, I was unfortunately sent to Lolita D., a woman who has never been very customer-friendly to me in any of my prior visits. I wanted to get the refund, though, so waited for her to help me. She wasn't happy about it (she had not been nice to me earlier on the phone when I told her that the "arms" on the first pair had already fallen off after being used for one week, She had actually said to me that it was "highly unlikely that they just broke on their own." When I took the glasses later to the Visionworks in Columbus, which is nearer my home, as I took the glasses out of their case, the second arm of the glasses fell off on its own, just like the first one had. This was witnessed by a Visionworks employee). Back to today. Lolita then proceeded to tell me that she was refunding me $46 for the glasses. I was surprised as I had paid $144 for the second pair. She said that she had refunded the first pair (which had been paid mostly for by my insurance). I told her that I did not intend to return the first pair as I needed to be able to see to drive the two hours home. She asked why I did not want to return both pair "since you don't like the prescription". I explained that I could see well enough with the distance lens so that it was worth the $46 to keep the first pair even though I can't read clearly with either pair. I explained that I simply did not feel comfortable keeping the second pair (since I won't use them and I had paid $144 for them). She walked away from me without a word, and another girl, Evelyn, came to tell me that they would refund the second pair as well as the first pair. When I protested, telling her that I did not want to return the first pair, she said it was too late, that the only way I could keep the first pair was if I paid them $46 today (because it was impossible for them to reverse the paperwork that Lolita had done to refund the first pair). As I have not yet received the refund for either pair, I was not eager to give them another $46. I had to drive two hours home without glasses as they insisted that I leave my first pair with them since I didn't want to give them another $46. Evelyn, the second girl, told me that it would be two weeks before I would be able to use my insurance to get new frames and lenses. My beef? I've been an RN for 40 years. I do not believe I have ever been deliberately or even accidentally verbally or in any way abusive to a patient. Lolita has an aggressive attitude. She is not polite. IN FACT, as I was sitting there attempting not to cry, another customer came up to me, touched my arm and said she didn't want to get in my business and that while she had not had problems with the business, she said "No one should be treated the way you were treated. I saw and heard everything. I will report this on your behalf." She said she was going to tell what she had seen/heard. I called my insurance company, VSP. The rep, Tauriq, informed me that the Visionworks business could have made a phone call so that I could have the original claim negated TODAY so that I would not have to wait two weeks. I called the Visionworks Corporate office and they finally connected me with "Jim", the General Manager of the Ashley Park Visionworks business. He had been present during the entire episode with Lolita. He never intervened. He did, however, at the intervention of the Visionworks Corporate office, finally tell me that he would make the call to negate my claim today. I am exhausted after all of this. I am going to go to a VSP accepted provider tomorrow and go through everything again to get glasses. I made two wrong turns on my way home because I couldn't see the signs for my exits. I will never go to that Visionworks again, probably never to any Visionworks again (though the folks at the one in Columbus, GA are really nice). And I'll make sure that everyone I know is not subjected to anyone with the horrible LACK of social skills and NON-professionalism of someone like Lolita D. She was so rude, uncaring and disrespectful. read more

My wife and I first went to this store around 2011 to help my sister in law find some glasses while she was visiting from outside the U.S. At the time the staff was extremely helpful, they couldn't fill the order in the time frame that we needed so they sent the order to the store in Douglasville. Based on this act of kindness we started using this store and had orders placed in 2015 and again in 2017...excellent service, but we noticed that there was an apparent high turnover in the staff. In 2019 we went back and noticed that once again we didn't recognize any of the staff, only this time the people up front seemed preoccupied and one elderly lady who was assisting with the eye exams was visibly irritated with me when I experienced difficulties when doing a retinal scan on my left eye, it was as if she thought I was deliberately trying to make her job harder. The optometrist's exam revealed that I had a cataract in my left eye...hence the problem getting a retinal scan on that eye! Fast forward to 2021...we both received text messages advising that our eye exams were due, we scheduled them and came in as per instructions. We were met with completely different staff and wound up waiting past our assigned appointment time because a walk in came in while we were waiting, Eventually the exams were conducted without any problems, the Optometrist was very professional and addressed all of my concerns. After the technician took our orders, she advised us that we would need to make an appointment to have the glasses adjusted when they came in. Two weeks later we were notified via text message that the glasses were in, I called to make the appointments and was told that no appointments were necessary and we could come in at 09:00 the next day We came in at 09:00 and were told by the staff in the store at the time that we needed an appointment and that they could not help us with any fittings or adjustments until 09:30 (apparently the optometrist needed to be on site). I tried to explain that we were told by someone at that store that we didn't need an appointment and that there would be no problem with showing up at 09:00, One of the staff said no one had told me that. I asked if their phone number was indeed the one on call log they confirmed the phone number but still denied that anyone had told me that an appointment was not necessary ... To my regret, my frustration and dissatisfaction surfaced and got the best of me, I was very abrupt and stated that I just wanted my glasses and left as soon as my wife had finished with her fittings and adjustment. Two days ago my wife noticed that she had lost a small screw from the frame of the glasses she had recently obtained. We went back to the store yesterday morning at about 10:15 to see if she could have the screw replaced. They took the glasses and said to come back after 11:00 today. 25 hours to install a small screw? I suppose now we will probably be charged some ungodly amount for "parts and labor". This is how you loose customers who have been using your service for 10 years! Good Riddance read more

This place is terrible. I mean, EVERY TIME I go there it's the same thing: incredibly rude and inattentive staff, with negative energy to boot. They might be scurrying around looking like they're busy but they are definitely NOT doing the right things as far as customer service is concerned. I don't know if it's that they are not well-trained in problem solving, if they don't know what they're doing to begin with, if the organization of the place is just not tight in general, if they don't like their jobs?? I can't put my finger on it, but no one ever smiles, it's unpleasant, there's always something they can't do right now or the equipment is down (fax, e-mail, etc), you are there for an eternity on the simplest matters, and everything is more cumbersome than it needs to be. I'm only talking about the retail side - have no idea and haven't used the exam side. It's a horrible experience every time and they are only a last resort for my family on the hunt for frames. I hate going there so much (and the Fayetteville store is only slightly better, with many of the same issues). The now-closed PTC store was tolerable. Maybe it's the Visionworks franchise as a whole?? Who knows. The Newnan store manager Tiffany seems to knows her job well enough and is nice enough, but obviously too busy to do everything. If you've only shopped there and have never seen what quality customer service looks like when buying glasses then maybe you think your experience there is what it's supposed to be like, but if you've been anywhere else several steps up - hell, even the PTC LensCrafters, which this store can learn a thing or two from - you'll see how below par this place is. There was nothing in the standard hardware box, but she went back to the secret archives and found one that was an exact match. She could have said I was out of luck, but she went the extra mile. Never again! I was treated terribly by the manager. They damaged my frames while having new $450.00 lens made and placed in my frames. She quickly recited what they "are not" responsible for. She wouldn't accept a valid coupon on the purchase and raised here voice when I questioned her. I sat and demanded they correct my frames since they damaged them. She said she would repair them if "I said please". I was appalled as a customer. I had no choice but to ask since I had to have my glasses. It was terrible! Not sure yet about this place. I've usually gone elsewhere for exams and eyeglasses but I was able to get an appointment sooner here so I thought I would give it a try. I've never at other places received a text message telling me my glasses were ready then be told I can't come and pick them up because someone retired. Why can't they just send me a text when I can actually pick them up? If they are ready why can't they be picked up any Monday through Friday during normal business hours? It's quite odd. read more

I've had the worst experiences with this location. First they scheduled my diabetic eye exam for too late in the day so the doctor said he couldn't dilate my eyes which wasted my eye exam benefits for this year. Now I have to wait till next year to get a real exam. Then I try to give them another chance and go there to bye some glasses and they were so rude that I just left. The lady at the front desk is extremely rude. Not sure but I think she said her name was Lolita. I left this location without getting my eye exam and went to an optometrist office at another location. I don't patronize anybody who acts like they are providing their service for free. I took my excellent vision insurance and went somewhere else. Hope the optometrist in this office think it's worth it to loose paying customers in the financial crisis due to a miserable employee who apparently is not accountable for her actions. I would of been a new customer. I have VSP insurance and Vision Works was in network so I made an appointment for December 5th. I received a call to change my appointment to Saturday, November 28th. A few days ago, I received another call to change my appointment to Friday November 27th. I asked for the latest appointment because I'm an RN and needed to request to leave early. Unfortunately, I arrived at my appointment 15 minutes late due to loosing my wallet at work and then fighting Black Friday traffic at the Ashley Park mall to get there. The receptionist then said, I'm sorry if you are more than 5 minutes late it is our customer policy to reschedule your appointment. She did not check with the optometrist and was not concern about why I was late. I asked if she could check with the optometrist and she replied it's not his decision, it is company policy. So, I didn't actually get to go in for a visit. I tried. Very hard. Used their website to make an appointment thinking that if they had the dates available on their website then they would be available for appointments. Well Eye was disappointed... twice. We were even told on the phone that one of the dates was available. Received a call today that they were canceling my appointment. They apparently only have Drs there only two days a week. I guess they should be Vision Dont Works. If you throw that on top of the fact that there's a particular employer that is just don't right rude it really doesn't make sense to ever step foot in there again. Least thorough exam I have ever had in my 17 years of wearing glasses/contacts. Staff was ok, but the doctor was in the room, and I sat there for 5 min without being acknowledged. When my exam was over, it took a while to get my trial contacts in my new prescription and frankly checking out was like hearding cats. I definitely will be going else where next time. read more

So after my accident in February! I can't go into certain stores I felt like the shelves were coming down and a few other things were happening! After the accident i started wearing my other pair of glasses! I didn't really liked them! Now remind you I have gone to several different types of Drs and had different tests for this problem! Yesterday, I went to get new glasses had a eye exam only to find out my lenses were in the wrong sides! Lady at the desk with short hair was rude and had zero personality. Inconvenient if you need contacts. When my contacts I had already paid for arrived I was told I had to wear a trial set for a week, then gone back for another appointment before they would give them to me. They don't do this for glasses so what's the difference?! Also, I didnt change brands, which if I did I could understand. They should let you know this up front if it's their policy which they did not. I also went here last year and got the same contacts and did not have to do this so they are not consistent. Went there ready to purchase a pair of glasses, and maybe get sunglasses too. They totally ignored my wife and I - and they were not the least bit busy. The only woman I saw that was available to wait on customers seemed too busy trying to pretend we were not there. She appeared to be unpacking a shipment of glasses and wrapping rubber bands around them. I picked out the glasses I wanted and stood at the counter for 15 minutes while various employees marched by me as if I didn't exist. Half an hour in the store and nobody acknowledged me. Not once! I finally got the attention of the rubber band queen and she said to go have a seat and someone would be with me when they had time. Then she went back to her rubber bands. Ten minutes later we walked out the door and I bought two pair of glasses at a local optometrist office. I was trying to save money, but do not go to this place. P.S. - on 12/18 I got a message from Visionworks that they wanted to contact me. That same day I responded with my phone number. It is now 12/28 and no call. read more

This local eyeglass business called me on Sunday to say my glasses were in, but I could not pick them up until Tuesday because they don't have anyone in their office who is licensed to dispense them except the optometrist. Then I get home and the doctors writing was so bad I could not read it. I called and asked them for the info over the phone and they would not give it to me. I went into the Newnan office on this past Saturday. I left in tears. The lady that had me read the eye chart was pleasant enough. She did a few other test and then told me to look at frames while I waited for the doctor. An hour after my appointment time I was finally called back. The doctor never once introduced himself just wanted to know if it was me or my daughter that needed to be seen. I told him it was me , as I sat in the chair he asked me if I was having trouble with my eyes. I asked him to clarify the question as I wasn't sure if he meant headaches , blurred vision etc. He just looked at me never responded. I told him that other than no longer being able to see my computer screen clearly I was not having any issues. He proceeded to tell me that I might have a disease in my right eye that could not be corrected with glasses. When I asked about the disease he said it was due to neglect. I told him until recently I had been able to see just fine no issues. He said my brain had pretty much given up on that eye. Then said we will see .... He did the exam and turned to his computer and told me to go pick up my prescription out front. He added I might need my cholesterol checked if I had never had it done. He never addressed the disease that he had mentioned nor did he explain the need to check my cholesterol. I went out front to get my prescription and to pay for my visit . I sat down at a computer with one of the ladies and another lady that worked there proceeded to loudly tell the lady that was helping me that we were at a desk she was using. At that point I was ready to leave. I asked the lady to check me out , she wanted to know if I wanted to get my glasses of course I said no as I was not going to be spending my hard earned money anywhere that had such a rude doctor. I did tearfully ask her about my prescription stating it is really bad right?? She told me she had seen much worse . I did inquire why the doctor felt the need to scare me to death and then not give me some sort of explanation once the examine was over . She told me something along the lines of "oh he told me the same thing about my daughter because one of her eyes was so much stronger than the other," I realize everyone gets busy but I can't imagine treating one of my customers the way I was treated. This made visiting the eye doctor a very unpleasant experience. I now have to start all over somewhere else and pay out of pocket for my examine since I wasted my insurance paid visit here. Do not recommend! Reason: I was a patient for 2 miserable months at vision works in Newnan, Ga highly disappointed in services. I personally work for a doctor and know the importance of a practice and what it entails to have a successful business. Most important is what a patient needs 1. Confidentiality 2. A doctor that listens to what the patient would like and what they expect when leaving the office. 3. Education of why they are receiving the glasses or contacts they are receiving 4. Explain in a mannerism where a human being should be spoken to and with etiquette. Dealing with patients may not be easy but with great education and care not just patient care. Care as in feeling and wanting to be there kind of care! They do not show respect to people and i saw 3 different doctors .. How does one feel comfortable with seeing 3 different doctors? if they would want people to come back. A patient has no idea which one is the doctor or who they may deal with. No personal connection and bad customer service! Almost 3 months past and still no contacts. Argued for a Full refund and got it even though they said come back for a 5th time to speak to manager, I got the FULL refund there and including the exam but had to make a fuss for it and not accept less. I am returning to wal-mart vision center where they always get it right. read more
