I went to MyEyeDr in Ellicott City on August 27, 2026, for an eye exam, which went fine. After the…read moreexam, I selected two pairs of glasses, regular glasses and sunglasses. I was told when I placed my order (which, of course, is when they take your money) that both pairs would be ready the following week. In fact, the paperwork listed a promised delivery date of September 4. On September 1, I received a message informing me that my glasses were ready for pickup. I stopped by the store, only to discover that they weren't ready after all. Apparently, there had been a delay that nobody had bothered to track or communicate to me. Do these people not know when customers receive messages telling them their glasses are ready, or do they simply not care? At that point, it was hard to tell. On September 9, I received ANOTHER message informing me that my glasses were ready. I wasn't able to make it to the store until the morning of September 15. Surely, two weeks after placing my order and six days after receiving the second pickup notification, my glasses would finally be ready. Wrong. When I arrived, the clerk was listening to what sounded like a podcast or something on his phone, which he eventually had to turn down to assist me. He then spent approximately 20 minutes completely wasting my time, repeatedly opening the same drawers and going into the back to look for my glasses. During this process, he asked me several times whether I was sure I hadn't already picked them up. Seriously? Wouldn't that information be in your system? Wouldn't you know, or at least have an easy way to find out, whether a customer who spent several hundred dollars on glasses had actually picked them up? Eventually, he called the lab and discovered that, for some reason, they couldn't make my sunglasses. Now, you might be wondering why, if the lab couldn't make my sunglasses, I received a message telling me they were ready for pickup rather than one informing me there was a problem with the order. Excellent question. I was wondering the same thing. At that point, I told him to cancel the sunglasses order. He did, then asked if there was anything else he could do for me. Yes. FIND MY OTHER PAIR OF GLASSES! Remember, I had told him when I walked in that I was there to pick up TWO pairs of glasses. So, after more rummaging through drawers and additional trips to the back, he finally checked the system again and discovered that the frames for my regular glasses were on backorder. Let me get this straight. I received TWO messages telling me my glasses were ready. I made TWO trips to the store. And only after standing there for approximately 20 minutes did I learn that the lab couldn't make one pair and the frames for the other pair were on backorder? Why wasn't any of this communicated to me? Why was I repeatedly told my glasses were ready when neither pair was available? And why did it take so much effort for the employee to figure out what was going on with my orders? I told him to cancel the second order as well. Nearly three weeks after my eye exam, I had made two unnecessary trips to the store, wasted my time, and still had no glasses. Both orders were canceled. I will NEVER go back to this location. From my experience, they seem far more interested in taking your money than making sure you actually receive what you paid for. Communication was nonexistent, the order tracking was a mess, and the customer service was absolutely terrible. Save yourself the frustration and take your business elsewhere.

It's worth your time to check them out if you are in need of new pair of glasses and/or eye exam. Tucked away at their new location in the Dorsey Search area off of Dorsey Hall Road, the office is bright, clean, and staffed with courteous team members, and also, they have a great selection of frames. I had come here to have my son get a eye exam, which was easy and painless, and Dr. Cho was very patient in evaluating my young son. After we finished, we sat down with a staff member and reviewed the options of selecting frames and lenses, and since we brought our frames we had just ordered the lenses which would take a couple days. When we came back, they helped us fit the new glasses to my son to ensure comfort and proper fit, and asked us to wait a short while to adjust the glasses, insert and edge the new lenses to the frames. This being my first experience at Galleria Optical and while waiting for my son's glasses, I thought I should also get a check up myself on the health of my eyes and vision (since it's been a few years since the the last one) asked if I could also schedule an appointment as well. They mentioned since they were ahead of schedule if I'd like to get an eye exam now which worked out perfectly since I'm already there and waiting for my son's glasses. The exam was thorough despite being speedy, and I never felt like I was being rushed in my evaluation. Matter of fact, Dr. Cho double checked to make sure my vision was correct after she looked at my current pair of worn glasses. Really Hats off to Dr. Cho and the friendly staff members. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
