In my lifetime, I have tried other optometrists. I even went to a prominent & expensive one at the famous Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. NONE of them met my needs. I always came back to Dr. Kramer. He is the only one who has done a good job with my tricky prescription. Not just good; excellent. Wills Eye screwed up so bad, my glasses were giving me headaches. Dr. Kramer fixed me right up (again). The staff is very friendly & helpful. I'm lousy at fashion. They take the time to select eyeglass frames that actually suit me! And I mean, I took up their time; trying on as many as I could. Most places don't carry adult petit frames (which I need). Dr. Kramer has a good variety. Excellent. In comparison, I went to a sale at Vision Works where they have thousands of frames and they had zero in adult petit. The salesman finally found a pair of youth boys for me! Then they didn't measure me right at Vision Works so I couldn't even wear the glasses. Vision Works uses a lousy lens maker who doesn't off a the options and although they advertise designer frames, you get a really cheap crappy case. Not so with Dr. Kramer!! The frames are excellent quality, he uses a top quality , reliable lens maker, and the glasses come with the designer case. Dr. Kramer knows my glasses with my tricky prescription cost a lot of money even at the basic level and he makes sure they not only meet my needs but will look good on me and last. It's rare to find a doctor these days who is actually interested in the patient. If you find a good doctor...hang on to them! Dr. Kramer is the best.

I am picky when it comes to my glasses, and I was happy that they provided honest opinions on how the frames looked on me. The office itself is very nice; it's clean, modern and has a good selection of frames. Dr. Staab was great. My eye exam was quick and thorough; the doctor explained everything and even showed me pictures of my eye on a monitor (something an Optometrician has never done for me before). They scheduled my appointment same day, had no wait, and overall provided an outstanding experience. I'm looking forward to going back next week to decide on my new frames, again, it's great to know I will get unbiased honest advice on the fit and style.

He's extremely approachable, very solution-oriented, and easy to talk to. He takes his time to educate me, and is happy to indulge my inquisitive questions. He truly cares about his patients, is proactive, and always errs on the side of caution given how important your sight is to good health. The office is an easy location to get to, has ample parking, and I don't have any issues with the receptionists. They take VSP and are in-network for my plan, so it's a win-win. I didn't find anything so one of the associates told me that they were expecting some new styles in two weeks. So I returned and started my process over. While there I ran into one of my students. As I crossed over to the other side of the store I began to gather the frames I was interested in, when out of the blue this older woman wearing a Covid mask chastises me for opening the drawers and closes the one I had just opened. I did close all the drawers I had opened, so I was very respectful of the merchandise. She told me not to open the drawers and I told her that I had been told I could do that in their other locations. She told me that that was the practice but that this location had a higher rate of theft. I was mortified and highly insulted by this person's comments, especially in front of my student. I put back the frames and walked out. Had my student not been there I would have put the masked woman in her place. Needless to say I won't be going back there.

Easily one of the most disorganized doctors offices I've ever been in…read more I went here because they have Dr. Lin, one of the only neuro-ophthalmologists in all of South Jersey. Dr. Lin, like many of the doctors here I learned, only works one or two days a week which causes lots of wait times to be seen (unless you need surgery, which they seem to have people coming in for all day long.) My appointment was scheduled for 2:00p but I learned they pushed back to 2:20p upon arrival. I wasn't taken back until 2:50p, and not seen by Dr. Lin until well after 3:30p. The assistant who took some eye vitals remarked they didn't have any exam rooms available, so I was put back into the waiting room. I waited 4 months to be seen for a serious issue, and she spent 4 minutes with me and did a very very simple exam, nothing my eye doctor hasn't done. (Actually, less thorough than my normal eye doctor...) Ultimately, my concerns were dismissed (like months long eye pain in only one eye) that she said she couldn't explain and recommended no further testing for beyond reading from an eye chart. I brought in an MRI which she did not review. Dr. Lin couldn't even remember what my chief complaint was minutes after telling her, and she asked me to repeat after citing another issue entirely that I didn't have. This office displays little respect for patients' time (both in having to wait months to be seen, to pushing my appointment back without my knowledge, to making me wait an hour after my scheduled time to be seen, to giving me less than 10 minutes with the doctor.) The receptionists were cold and when I asked a question, just outright ignored me. I asked to speak to the practice manager and she declined. In the background, one of the office workers was calling patients back who canceled their appointment and after hearing a lot of refusals, she even had to apologize to someone for a bad experience. Seems like this is how it goes here. Would absolutely *not* recommend.

I kept the name of the store in a note for when I was ready. I didn't renew my glasses for a long time and finally decided it was time. The shop is small but choices abound. I was greeted warmly, though they were busy with other customers. I noticed that Nicole greeted everyone who was there or who came in after me by name. I told her what I was thinking of trying. She welcomed me to try on anything and everything. And so I did. There was zero pressure. Nicole helped me with fit and size and I narrowed it down to a pair I fell in love with. Nicole was busy but she checked in on me often. Nicole will tell you if a pair of glasses isn't for you - which I really appreciate, because it's a big purchase! By the way, Nicole learned my name early on and used it. This is not something you see much these days. I felt welcomed to be their customer. I selected my frames and Nicole told me about their upcoming vacation, not sure if they would have them ready beforehand. I wasn't in any rush, but I did learn that they make the glasses in-house, which was nice to know! My glasses were ready in just a few days. When I went in to pick them up, I was greeted with, "Hi, Megan!" My glasses were beautifully made. When I tried them on, I was a little unsure because they didn't seem like the right prescription - I had waited too long to update my Rx! Nicole assured me that if they didn't feel right and my eyes didn't adjust, they'd remake them within 30 days. My eyes adjusted in one day and I'm thrilled with my new glasses. Nicole also adjusted my sunglasses (not purchased there) for free, and they've never fit better. I can't say enough about my wonderful experience at Fortuna Optical. You have a customer for life.
