We've been coming here for years. Usually in December fir the $1 special. Due to Civid they didn't have it this year. Understandable. Service has always been friendly but a little slow. These last visits in February and March were great. Doctors always great. Staff has been superb. I even had to call a few times with questions and could tell they were busy because of how long it took to get them to answer. But when they did the lady had no rush in her voice. I am from Michigan and was visiting my mom in Alvaton. On Tuesday we went into the store to get my glasses tightened. The wait wasnt long. About 8 minutes. I was directed to the fix it counter and a super friendly man fixed them for me. When I get back to Kentucky I'll stop in again. read more

My daughter had an appointment at 12:15. We waited until after 1:30 to be seen. They called her back and she waited an additional 20 minutes before she was seen by anyone. Her glasses were supposed to have came in on the 16th. I have called the office eight times today and no one has answered. If you aren't going to answer the phone, at least have a message saying you're closed or for us to leave a message and you will return our call. Not a good way to conduct business. read more

2+ Hours for Eye Exam!!!! My girlfriend had an appointment today (6/29/21) at 1PM. Finally saw a Dr at 2:35!!! Why even bother with an appointment?! They then asked her to wait for a pupil measurement and after watching a male employee walk around and do nothing but talk to girls for another 20 minutes while she waited she left without completing the appointment. Either they have a receptionist or office manager that needs training on scheduling or the big chain glasses company only cares about money and requires they over-book. No one in the bowling green ky office seemed happy to be there. There were a couple of fake happy people working.The doctor was fantastic. Couldnt ask for better from him. Ended up leaving without the 2 pair of glasses i needed because of this. And the covid rules for. that office need to be eased up. Couldnt bring wife in to help pick out/purchase glasses with insurance. But i was allowed to take frames outside show them to her and come back in. Makes no sense. Now I have to make an appt elsewhere, possibly Nashville, will not be back to this location. read more

Well vision works has screwed me again. Not only do I not have glasses but I don't have benefits either. I made a complaint to the BBB and the area manager said they processed all my benefits back to my insurer. Guess what. That's a lie. My appointment was at 2pm, and I was shuffled around from one chair to another without actually being seen for 1 1/2 hours. Meanwhile, the front desk people had time to kick their legs up on a desk and text people. Even after I thought I was actually going to be seen, I was just taken to yet another place to wait. When I was finally escorted to a room, it wasn't to get an exam. it was, you guessed it, to wait some more. $128.00 and two hours of my time later so I can wait. And wait. And wait. Long story short, don't go to Visionworks Doctors of Optometry in Bowling Green, Ky. Highly NOT recommended. Long Story Last week, I had an appointment at Visionworks. I didn't mind when I was told they couldn't run my insurance because of a computer problem. They said that I could swing by next week and they would re-ring me and return what my insurance covered. They even said they would put a note by the computer with my name on it so that when I came in, no matter who was working, they would know what needed to be done. - I didn't mind when it took more than an hour to be seen by the optician even though I had an appointment. I didn't mind that it took more than 30 minutes to checkout. I didn't even mind that I was there for 2 hours. So, when I came in tonight for my re-ring, I was kinda surprised that they said I would have to wait in line for the re-ring because there were four people in front of me... I didn't mind waiting for a half-hour... but after being there 45 minutes and noticing more than four people had been seen and then watching the person who said they would be the one to check me out leave, I started to get upset. I waited an hour and 10 minutes before getting up and asking an employee when someone could re-ring me. She said kinda hatefully "You're going to have to wait your turn." I told her again that I had been there more than an hour for a re-ring. She said full-on hatefully "You're just going to have to wait your turn." At this point, I lost my cool. My voice broke. In a shaking, high-pitched, and quasi panicked voice I said that I had been there more than an hour for a re-ring and that I was told this could be handled if I could just swing by and that no-one had mentioned that swinging by would include the need to wait in line again as if I was seeing the doctor and that I was going to be late for another appointment because I seriously didn't think I would be there for a re-ring more than an hour. She said in a tone that I can only describe as disdainful that I was just going to have to wait. It took more than an hour and twenty minutes to get checked out. read more

Every time I come to this location, I am greeted by very rude individuals. I walk in today. I walked Shay to the customer Service counter. There is a A lady in a male talking, I stood there because clearly their conversation was more important than greeting their customer. The lady Finally asked what can she do for me? I am inform her that my lens continues to pop out and this location had actually told me my lens was cut too short. I don't live here and I don't like the experience I have here however I did do my due diligence on getting my lens fixed months ago so while I was in town, I decided to come back. I was at the eyeglass fitting table, which I did then a man comes over and asked me. What can he help me with? I explained to him what I explained to the lady my lens continues to pop out. He takes my lens to the lab, comes back and I was like what did you do? He states he didn't do anything it was the lab. I check the fitting on my lens and then I do the motion as if I'm wiping his response is " If you put pressure on it, your lens will fall out" I'm not putting any more pressure on my lens that I do when I clean it when I clean my lens is when they mostly fall out I look at him and tell him to have a good day and walk away. I came out of pocket. You all have already admitted to fault by stating my lens was cut short therefore do not try to imply that the pressure that I am putting on my eyeglasses is the reasoning for y'all's mess up. read more

I purchased glasses at the Montgomery County Mall Store and had a problem with the lenses i went into the Warrington Pa store where a woman actually told me she could not help me she told me she could not reach the Montgomery store which is just a few miles away. when i told her i would just go buy new glasses at a competitor she did not care i suggest you stay away from this store the woman i spoke to i think was the manager this is the worst customer service i have ever seen this compay should be shut down read more

If I could give this place a negative double zero I would. They lied about prices, very unprofessional staff (supposed manager smirked at us), and their entire place was very unorganized. I had an eye exam appointment made Friday. They had trouble with my insurance and refused to use my insurance. After hours of waiting they figured out the problem and covered by eye exam. ( Two insurance companies). After the 3 hour wait I kept telling the doctor my contact lens prescription was wrong. He didn't do anything and gave me a trial pair that I can not wear. DO NOT GO GET YOU R EYES CHECKED HER! I am stuck with contacts they will not fix without another visit to the place. Doctor Burt is the best! My favorite eye doctor, and I have been dealing with eye doctors for nearly 35 years. He was the first to diagnose an issue I had been having for roughly 15 years an no one could figure out. Thanks Dr. Burt! The only issue I ever have is that it takes a long time to get my glasses, and that is not the Doctor's or staff's fault, honestly. Staff is generally friendly, and do a solid job. My daughter had an 11:30 am appointment today and sat there forever while others kept going back. She just got out of there at 2:15 so almost 3 hours WITH an appointment!! She said the lady at the front counter was very rude when she asked how much longer before she was going back after waiting over an hour in the lobby area. The receptionist told her that people who came in first would be seen first which means an appointment means absolutely nothing at this place. Don't waste your time. read more

From making the appt to the exam to choosing glasses, to pricing, my experience was absolutely wonderful. Dr. K. Burt is awesome! This guy genuinely cares about his patients (not saying the other docs don't) and is right on the money with his diagnosis and treatment. He's in the wrong office because this store has lousy customer service. This store never answers their phone. I also tried the home office in Texas - same story, so they get it honest. I tried the on line chat on their web site. Ever tried to converse with a computer? Yeah, that. I think I'm going to take my business somewhere else. read more

Doctors are good, but wait is horrible. I've had to wait over an hour for a previously scheduled appointment. There is no purpose of scheduling an appointment when you aren't even seen for your initial glaucoma test well over an hour, and then there is the wait for an actual doctor exam. If you go to Visionworks for an appointment, be prepared to devote the entire half day to waiting. Frustrating! read more

At first I wasn't sure about this place because I had never gone to an eye doctor outside of my hometown, but it was great! The doctors very very nice and the other employees were very helpful! The only problem I had was that I had to wait over an hour for a previously scheduled appointment, but once I got back to the doctor everything was done very quickly. They took my insurance and only ended up paying $25 for two pairs of glasses that day! I was very satisfied with the customer service and the prices! read more

If you like to wait, come here to Visionworks in Bowling Green, KY! No matter if you have an appt, you will wait hours! I had to return several times and waited long periods of time each time. I had one pair of frames I wanted to keep, plus got the special, buy one get one free. None of them helped my vision even though one pair was bifocals, one pr for the computer and one pr for TV. I went back and was examined again by a different dr and my vision was great on their test equipment, but the lenses were different and one lense was always slightly blurry. I was finally told it was because I'd had PRK (pre-Lasic) surgery. If that was the case then why could I see perfectly on the equipment? Apparently, the in-house people who make the lenses are incompetent. I was warned decades ago never to use an in-house lense maker because it is time and money for them to have to re-do lenses and after this, I believe it! It doesn't matter if they have great prices if you can't use the glasses or see out of them when you get them. I'd say this one location needs new management!! read more

I'm highly disappointed in the experience I had in the store today. I arrived early for my 1PM appointment and the registration line took nearly 30 minutes. After I gave my name they stated that I was booked for Sunday Jan. 3rd. I know this to be incorrect because I was confirmed on Saturday the 2nd and the store is even closed on Sundays. The lady at the registration said that there was nothing she could do and that there was likely a glitch in their online booking system. She got the manager Christina. I spoke with Christina who in short was not able to provide any explanation. I advised that I even called at 9:34AM this morning to confirm my appointment today at 1PM. I was confirmed this morning that everything was good to go. The only thing Christina was good at was providing a big does of attitude. I left with no resolution and fired up to say the least. It's pretty bad when you have someone like Christina as a GM, who is not shy to speak her mind, and to not offer up any type of solution at the store today. Needless to say I'm very disappointed in the service that was provided today. I'm writing this in hopes of some feedback from corporate. I asked for a contact to write an email and all she provided was a very generic customer service number. I guess if she acted and conducted herself the way she did today she didn't want me to get in contact with anyone above her. It's a shame if someone plans their entire day around being prompt to an appointment only to be let down. read more

My wife and I both renewed our subscriptions and purchased 1100.00 worth of glasses. I told the doctor I didn't want bi-focals and he offered to do my reading prescription in case I wanted to purchase them. I ordered the regular prescription and declined the reading. The front people messed up and I ended up with a 600.00 reading prescription. Had to return and have them fix their mistake. My Wife's prescription turned out wrong as well. Call multiple times to see if new order was in only to be left on hold for over half an hour. To "check" if my glasses were in the lab. I was originally told mine had to be sent offsite so I'm unsure where they looked, they left me on hold until I hung up. Awful doctor messed up both prescriptions and no one even offered to adjust them for fit upon pick up. Contacting our insurance company recommending they no longer do business with this out fit. Save your money and time, go elsewhere. read more
