I was quoted a time frame of 2 weeks to complete the job. I assumed 3-4 weeks but that wasn't even close. They did not show the first day as Sam (owner) had told me the wrong day. The demo was completed in less than 1 day & subfloor was prepped. There was a 4 day delay as the tile I had chosen was the wrong color under my homes lighting. Flooring installed perfectly although there was a 2nd delay as not enough tile was ordered. Several times during the first 2 weeks the guys would tell me they would return the next day & did not as Sam would send them elsewhere without letting me know. After more than 2 weeks the cabinets were delivered to my home, on a Saturday with no advance warning. I received a phone call to advise me they were on their way but I wasn't home. Late in the afternoon they left the cabinets in the garage (I gave them garage code). They did not return for several days. Finally, the cabinets were installed although a few were missing. A week later Sam came to my home to make a template for the countertop & backsplash. I was advised that the counters & backsplash would be installed in 2 days. 2 weeks later the countertop was installed. The backsplash needed to be recut as it didn't line up. We were delayed another week as I was supposed to get a double sink & they did not have one. 10 days later they returned with the backsplash. Again there was a problem, specifically where the hood was to be installed. 1 week later they returned & had the same issue. During all this time when NOTHING was done, the oven & dishwasher could have been installed, the cooktop hooked up & the pipes under kitchen & bathroom sinks could've been installed but weren't. After more than 10 weeks I stopped by the shop (not the 1st or last time) & asked Sam to just give me the sink trap for the bathroom & I would install it myself. Sam assured me that the crew, who was coming later that day would install it. They did not. They did very little in the few short hours they were here. About 1 week later, after no one showed up to do anything I received a call from Sam at 10 AM. He advised me that the guys had just left & would be at my house shortly. At 3 PM I called to inquire as to their whereabouts. Sam assured me that they would come even if it was at 7 PM to complete the job. No one showed up. The next morning I went to see Sam. I was understandably livid as this was not the first time they had stood me up. I absolutely raised my voice several times as I was frustrated. We were at 11 weeks. That's 11 weeks without a kitchen. 11 weeks without a bathroom sink. 11 weeks of eating out when it rained as I can't grill in a rainstorm. The guys did show & work that day. Then we went another week of them not showing up. Finally, after 12 weeks I had a functional kitchen. Not finished though. There is a 1" gap between the cabinet housing the wall oven & the wall. The counter goes past the doorframe as does the cabinet molding. The dishwasher was not installed correctly & will not drain. One drawer is not installed correctly & will not close fully. They did not paint the ceiling. The baseboards were not put back in the right places, brand new painted baseboards were thrown out while old ones were put in. I have 3 cracks/dents in the driveway from the dumpster sitting there for nearly 11 weeks. I provided (they did not have the correct color/style/size although it was in the original contract) 2 sinks, 1 toilet, 2 faucets, knobs (I had to provide & install the knobs since Sam never bothered to get them), under cabinet lighting & will need to get a plumber for the dishwasher, a carpenter for the cabinets & Lord knows I will have to live with the counter in the doorway. You would think after 12 weeks the kitchen would be perfect but it's far from it. Do yourself a huge favor by not hiring this company. Please note that the work done by the guys actually doing the construction was great. 99% of the problems were caused by a lack of communication from the owner.

The lack of care and concern for my family, knowing I have young children is beyond me. We hired this company for an addition. They never finished the job. My family was always pushed aside for other jobs. The company's workers who we specifically asked about prior to going forward, we rarely saw. We were sent outside contractors. Going over 6 months without a roof on our addition. Being told it was ordered. Finding out it was a lie. After Larry continuously dodging the question I made a call to the company myself. The truth revealed itself, he never placed the order. Prior to this telling me samples of the roof were not available. Again, I made a call to the company and they sent me plenty of samples. Total laziness. His workers would say overwhelmed. I say terrible way to run a business. We contacted this company before Covid, stayed loyal until we were ready to move forward. The loyalty was not reciprocated. Due to not having a roof, the amount of water that entered our addition was disturbing. No reason for not having a roof. Poor excuse of Covid. Ordering the roof is a start to getting a roof. And to think he would care about the water coming in. But no, he was never reachable when needed. Oh that's right, it's the weekend and he didn't give a damn about the people that put trust in him. I saved him a lot of work by putting a tarp up to save my house from even more water entering since we had no roof on that section. Let's talk about the trash left in our yard throughout the duration of the project which was over a year. We were told we would get a dumpster, never saw one. Some random trash guy would come when we complained enough about the trash left. Seriously treated our yard as a junk yard. His employees, leaving coffee cups and lunch when they did show. I had to clean, move materials and try to save my home from even more damage since he cared less. Let's not fail to mention the conversations of my displeasure. All lies. He loses sleep at night, getting emotional on the phone and promises to get it right. If that was the case, this job would have been finished, the right way. One theme throughout the negative reviews, cutting corners. Absolutely. He will take the easiest, cheapest way out. He clearly thought I was an idiot to try and get by with doing some things in ways that were just totally unacceptable. We should have demanded even more and better, but with looking forward to using our addition for first Labor Day party- not done, November birthday party- not done, Christmas- not done, we just wanted to be DONE! We accepted the unacceptable and will be paying even more to have items fixed in the future. But for now, having this project ongoing for over a year, my family needs a break. I truly believed Larry was a good guy throughout but he surely proved me wrong. Actions speak louder than words. Knowing he has two daughters, it was unimaginable that he would handle this project the way he did and have such disregard for my family. I do believe in KARMA.

Today was the culmination of a GREAT Experience with Cambridge Exteriors, LLC from Medford, NJ…read more Their salesman, Adam, was one of many who we had provide estimates and he was extremely professional and provided us with the most comprehensive quotes of any of the companies we met with! Their pricing was very fair and competitive! They offered the GAF roofing system that provided what we needed without over selling the job. I had the pleasure today working with their foreman, James, and a fantastic subcontracted crew that tackled what initially started out rather straight forward but the original plywood substrate from the 1970's was in really bad shape - they replaced all of the needed plywood without issue and gave us a fantastic finished product and they left the house and grounds better than they found it! I'm completely satisfied and would highly recommend them for a roof replacement! Adam then followed up with meeting their gutter crew the following week and because I was not able to meet them, he FaceTimed with me so that I was able go over the scope of the project with their crew foreman and get my questions answered before work started! I was able to get down on the weekend to check out the completed project / they did a Fantastic Job with the installation. They were able to hide the mounting screws for the downspout straps and even filled the holes in the siding where the old straps were attached with color matched pop-rivets. They also did a much better job with the downspouts where they entered the drain pipes! This attention to detail made the whole project look Fantastic! I've done business with this company in the past and had no issue. I called them back out to fix a leak in my roof and installed my bay window. For they got 5 stars, 2021 jobs. Lauren was the person that sealed our deal. She's gone. Fast forward to 2025, the siding. No Lauren and the dynamic is clearly different. I use reviews heavily to make my contractor decisions and the fact that we've already done business with this company, made them a contender for our siding job. The were $5k higher than our lowest estimate. As homeowners we don't have all the answers but should not be made to feel like we're causing the contractor strife, or questioning their professionalism, or pulling them from their customer base to do your insignificant job because they're in "High Demand", when YOUR trying to figure out the work and services that will be included or excluded for YOUR work. We are handy and can do a few things to save ourselves money for the next project. (AND PLEASE NOTE THAT WE SHOP AT UNIVERSAL SUPPLY TOO! SHALLOW TO ASSUME THAT WE'RE LIMITED TO LOWES AND HOME DEPOT.) We were trying to make money decisions about our home and wallet. No one asked for favors...just a fair price and professional opinions. Its called due diligence. In this instance, we were considering about 4 estimates...ALL around same the price to make sure we'd be able to release that check with a smile. THIS SIDING TRANSACTION. It took us a few weeks to talk between all the contractors asking each one various questions and going back to ask additional questions. If we learned something from one that wasn't discussed with another, we asked. ALL got the same line of questions and there were many, so that we could be $25K- $30K. Ridiculous! ...with this transaction once we made our final decision and signed, I noticed that the contract wasn't signed by Cambridge. On the same day, I questioned it and was told that they just use the time stamp at the top. Last transaction, Cambridge signed, but I let it go. That was my first flag. I know better. HOMEOWNER's please know that a contract is not a contract without all signatures. Try taking a contract to a judge with one signature!?. Second...I noticed that after 2-3 weeks my deposit check had not been cashed?! Second red flag... so now...no contract and no money. In the real estate world, NO MONEY, NO CONTRACT SIGNED BY ALL PARTIES means we're NOT under contract? Hmm... I asked why my deposit hadn't been deposited and the truth came out. You didn't want to work with us, then tried to spin it like we had the reservations and weren't comfortable. Let's process this! I signed the contract Cambridge didn't. I gave the deposit check and Cambridge, Marc, literally decided not to cash it. Not much more we could do on our end. The decision to not NOT deposit the check was because of a "Feeling" and now I'm guessing no signature on the contract was for the same "Feeling". I've been me a long long time so I can only believe that ....Strong lady Melanin with questions, that you don't normally get, made you uncomfortable. Let's call a spade, a spade. Makes sense now. I've seen "you" before. Guess people just trust with no questions. Thats mostly because they don't know what to ask. HOMEOWNERS...ask your questions and trust your gut. It normally tells the truth. We wish you would have been honest and expressed your reservations instead of not executing on what we thought was a deal and trying to spin it like your uncomfortably has anything to do with us. That's all you. We gave you a check to start an expensive job. We were as comfortable as we were going to get. I started to post the entire text thread...but decided not. Do better and recognize that its your business. You can say that you don't think your the right match for a prospective customer. Much easier to be honest up front, then to have this on the back end and waste people's time because of your displaced BIAS.
