Then he used the machine that blows puffs of air into them to check for diabetes and glaucoma. In the middle of this test the optician came up behind him and told him that the machines wouldn't give any results as I was wearing contacts this should've been an obvious question as my prescription is so deep that I can't see without any lenses hrmmm apparently it was 'let's play qualified optician' day for the staff. Meanwhile, I was happy with the actual service and examination from the optician that attended to me although I made sure to skip the sales pitch after the appointment, from the psudeo assistant that did my initial 'tests'. Hopefully I'll be ok with the new prescription she provided. I have strong doubts about the healthcare system in this country and today's visit to specsavers just proved my concerns.

It also has a good electrical section with lots of toothbrushes, hairdriers etc. There often doesn't seem to be enough tills open so you may have to queue for a while to pay and I found the Christmas music in early November very irritating. Their loyalty points are pretty good and their prices have got better so all in all a good place to shop.
